@ Foxhound109 -- I think you are raging a bit too much over this, buddy. It MAY be more justifiable IF he 1) looks like crap in close ups, 2) he is the ONLY male s/s LI, and 3) he has those gawdawful ME2 teeth. It is still possible that the model isn't finished, OR that it may be a "fake" to hide what he REALLY looks like (I do believe Bioware will try to get some promotion out of their "official" gay character during the launch. Plus, his face looks no less detailed than the female Shepard's in that picture, and you KNOW she's getting promoted this time around.

It's not a bad CC face at all, but he really needs some hair to make himself look distinguishable.

At least he still has his cute voice.

Trust me, that's why I'm not in full rage mode yet. There is still hope that there will be at least one more S/S option (my money's on Kaidan). I also don't think he looks bad, as stated. In fact, I think he looks way better. He's the type of guy that would be "my type" IRL. I'm just annoyed at the moment. I just think it would be pretty horrible of Bioware to make him the only S/S option and keep him the same way he is.

I'm watching the stream now and it looks like he's passed the Kaidan bits . Anyone know of any other livestream I could watch (though youtube videos would be the ideal)?

Part of me thinks that in order to appeal to a wider audience the game is following the usual (US-centric, mind) 'entertainment industry' approach of having lots of demographically-inspired white/black/Latino characters. It's meant to be smart marketing, or something, if people can see relatable characters in their video games. 

But it also means we're not very likely to see, say, another Samesh Bahtia or even Chinese characters, who are meant to one of the largest contributors to the Alliance. 

It's a big shame, actually, that despite all the books' emphasis on human diversity almost every single character in the game is vaguely North American or Atlantic European.

You can see Kaidan's mouth hanging a bit open...as if he just wants Shep to shove his tongue down his throat...and vice versa. 

As for Diana Allers...she is a blatant example of advertising (by IGN?) and fan-service. She is obviously shoe-horned in. It sucks but money makes the world go round.

Psh. You just have different tastes. I like pretty boys that doesn't make me weird. Just different.

I like Cortez's look. Not ideal, but it's fine by me. Assuming there is no Kaidan and Vega s/s, I'll be content with Cortez. At least Bioware made some sort of effort.

Really, guys and gals, some of us are starting to sound a bit ungrateful... Bioware has given us a well-developed, handsome, masculine, and exclusively s/s love interest, and we have people set to go into "rage mode" because we don't like his hair or his skin is too dark or because he may be the "only" one available to s/s? I'm not a Bioware apologists by any stretch--I was among the first to call them out for hypocrisy over the lack of m/m in ME1--but it seems to me we should be saying "thank you" and supporting the company. These are not "crumbs" that we should be content with, and the more we whine about how unsatisfied we are with what is, really, a very nice gift we are being given, the more disinclined Bioware will be to listen to us.

So thank you, Bioware, for everything you have done for us. Bioware and Rockstar are the two companies brave enough to include male s/s content and those of us saying that they love to screw over gay people are only doing us a disservice.
