I like this idea. I think half the reason I liked Aveline so much in DA2 was because she never fancied Hawke.

John Shepard, (50% gay, but only for Jacob). People always complain about how femshep flirst with him. Manshep isn't too far off from flirting himself. I thought there were gay romances at first after a few conversations with Jacob.

I hadn't even thought of that,  I guess it will be a tad scewed...  which is unfortunate.

She left my poor Hawkette broken hearted...  she had to console herself with lotsa dirty pirate secks.

True but almost all of the Kaidan fans I know are straight females, so it balances out!

Straight female here. I actually think Miranda would be the hardest to write as a f/f interest because we get a better view of her sexual history, she's older and sexually confident, and she doesn't have much in the way of lines that could indicate romantic interest. Tali is almost ridiculously easy to make available, with her LOTSB dossier and hero worship.

That said, I've written Miranda as bisexual and would definitely take the option were it available.

well, the reason for that is, imo that most player's see tali as a liitle-sister/ best-friend type of character, thus they are not that interested in romancing her. just my opinion though, could alos be that for many it seems strange for a young quarian to be interesteted in her female human friend. Ash and miri are more eye catchers than tali, and since i gather that mostly male players will play the f/f romances its kinda logical they get the most votes, ashley prob more because many fans've been waiting for that oppurtunity since the first ME

Except that there's much more male players in general on the boards (thus more gay/bi guys) compared to the number of girls (thus less lesbian/bi girls) so straight guys influence female s/s LI polls much more than straight females influence male s/s LI polls.

I can assure you that the breakdown among the exclusively female who like other females is pretty much as this poll shows.  In fact I'd say Miranda is actually the leader followed by Ashley, instead of Ash followed by Miri as this poll shows.  I'd venture to say it's because many of the women feel similarily to this brilliant post written by Maria Caliban.  We like our options to be numerous and varied.  Even if we have a preferred type we need a variety to keep us satisfied!

You know that IF Bioware does make some of the original squad S/S options, there will be plenty of whining on these forums how the game is "ruined" because a "heart" option shows up in the dialog that will allow some other player to have a gay romance. It would be funny if Bioware makes up for this by greatly expanding the bro-mance option.

All the male characters are sitting around the camp fire, and the player is making damn sure he doesn't hit any of the "heart" options, but hits all the "bro-mance" options (represented by a flexed arm or something).

Shepard: Hell, yeah! It's great hanging out with my bros tonight!
Wrex: Oh, hell yeah!
Kaidan: Damn straight! I'm having another beer!
Wrex: Oh, hell yeah!
Garrus: Just reveling in our manliness! This is my rifle, this is my gun; one is for shooting, the other's for fun!
Wrex: Oh, hell yeah!
Jacob: [Crushes a beer can on his forehead] Can't wait till this war is over! We can spill us some drinks on the Citadel!
Wrex: Oh, hell yeah!
Thane: Wooo! Did you check out Miranda, back in her old Cerberus outfit! That ass is FINE!

There is so much truth to both yours and Maria's posts. I know a lot of people seem to dislike the fact that all the LI were bisexual in DA2 but honestly it's something I greatly appreciated. I didn't know it til chapter 2, so I automatically went with Isabela because I knew she was an F/F option. Come to find out Merrill was also interested in my LadyHawke and not only did that make me so happy because I knew I'd have more than one choice, but it also meant I had something to look forward to on future playthroughs. There are more potential LIs in ME3 so I'm not exactly saying every one of them should be bisexual, but giving us a choice would be wonderful. I have multiple FemSheps, and I can't make *all* of them loyal to Liara (granted I didn't, I do have one not involved with her romantically so that I can see what the consequences are for "cheating" on an ME1 LI, so that falls on Kaidan XP) because there wouldn't be any variety in my playthroughs. If I have multiple options to continue on with my Sheps of varying personalities, I'll be quite the happy camper.

From what I have observed, the following characters can possibly be bisexual, out of in-game evidence or the fact that their sexuality has never been fully explored:

1. Tali (linking suits comment to female Shepard in ME2)
2. Garrus
3. Kaidan
4. Thane
5. Jacob
6. Jack (Did she mention having an orgy once? Don't remember.)
7. Ashley

I doubt the following characters are bisexual, however:

1. Miranda (indications from the Shadow Broker's files compells me to believe that isn't bisexual)

And of course, Liara is perfectly bisexual.

I personally disapprove of retcons (with the exception being Tali or Jack, since evidence from ME2 suggests that they could be bisexual), so I hope the other romances (Ashley, Kaidan, Garrus, Thane, Jacob) remain heterosexual, since there isn't evidence from previous games to suggest that they are bisexual.
