That does remind me. Male Shepard can flirt with Samantha, even though she just turns him down.Okay but at least having an option to mention something about the mixed signals to Kaidan would resolve the situation for ManSheps in any event, even if the only possible outcome is rejection.
So maybe they'll do that.

So we're either going to have to wait for another leak, or wait until the game's released.
That is, unless Bioware decides to reveal all of the romance options on 2/14...which I doubt.
If they do decide to release romance options, I imagine it's only going to be the heterosexual ones (besides Liara of course).

Great. They plugged the leak. Meanies.
LIs should leak at least a week before the game releases. Happened with DAO and DA2.

Hopefully we'll get another leak soon, when they're gonna send full versions of the game to the game media and Fox News for review purposes.

Add lesbian romances to that. Doesn't seem like Jessica Chobot thoguht twice about announcing to the entire world she's a LI and for both male and female. It's like only male-male LIs are uber spoilers lol...Collider wrote...

Well, going by precedent. For DA2's Valentine's Day, they only announced the heterosexual romance versions. Even though Isabela was already established in DA:O to be bisexual.Add lesbian romances to that. He ain't gonna say anything more. Already at the convention where he said it, he also said right after that "haha I don't think I was suppoused to say that", something like that. His assistant, who posts on Kaidan thread, said she spoke with him about the convention slip up, but we never heard anything more about it so it's rather clear to me he doesn't want to say anything more after spilling it once already (even if it doesn't turn out to be true).SolidBeast wrote...

1) I saw a Tumblr post someone made about Ash and Kaidan which described them as "outlook looks good for bi." Has there been any reasonable indication of that, or was that poster just indulging in wishful thinking due to gender-neutral dialogue of the script leaks? (I call it wishful thinking since, as we know from past experience, gender-neutral dialogue doesn't really mean anything in the long run)
2) And speaking of the dialogue leaks, it seems to me like people have been heartened/disheartened by what we've learned from that stuff...but that's not nearly all the party dialogue or even the finalized version of what is, am I correct? In other words, those lines aren't the only things that people will be saying to each other in the game, and just because it's not in those files doesn't mean that it's been definitively excluded. For instance, I've glanced at Cortez's dialogue and there hardly seems to be any renegade options whatsoever. Same goes for most of the stuff I've looked at.
3) And speaking of Cortez, I understand there's been some discussion about Steve Cortez's model in the demo...my question is, is it possible that the model used in the demo isn't the one that's going to be used in the final game? Lots of game demos that I've played use alternate models for convenience or to guard against spoilers; some demos have used completely different characters in place of ones that actually end up in the game lol. So is it out of the question that the Cortez in the demo isn't the finalized Cortez? (Incidentally, I don't mind Cortez's model aesthetically, I'm just wondering if we might get a more unique face for the guy as opposed to something that could be done in character creation)
I agree with this in theory...but on the other hand, if the makers of Mass Effect have catered to practically every single demographic except for gay men, then it's perfectly rational to accuse them of exclusionary or hypocritical behavior.Tietj wrote...
As the makers of the game, they have every right to cater to whatever group they want to. If I were given freedom to design my own game, I would cater to gay guys (it wouldn't do so well sales-wise, of course). They don't "owe" anybody anything, and the fact that they decided to include us should be celebrated and lauded, not picked apart with suspicion.
I'm very proud of Cortez's inclusion, I'm looking forward to playing through this storyline, and am especially pleased with BioWare's depiction of gay marriage in their ME future, in a context-heavy character plotline, which is sure to speak to a lot of current sociopolitical issues. Bravo to this. That being said, the cold hard truth is that prior Mass Effect games have not been been fair and inclusive to us in the past and -- based on cold hard numbers alone -- is even now heavily skewed against male/male pairings. Cortez is a definite step forward. But he's not the final step, and in my mind Bioware has a ways to go before they're beyond suspicion or reproach.

Call me cynical, but I'm not sure the inclusion of lesbian romance can be seen as intentionally catering to a lesbian demographic, but rather to the far, far broader "dudes who want to see chicks doin' it" audience.BrianWilly wrote...

I wouldn't mind if they included 3 or 4 m/m LI's just because of "gals who want to see guys doin' it", I just don't care about their motivations, only the content I get to play and enjoy, and afaik, it's less than anyone else (f/f or o/s) hence not fair. Although I appreciate having Cortez there whatsoever.Ziggeh wrote...

Nobody knows. Nobody has any better indication of the truth than you do, even if all you know is that Ashley and Kaidan are in the game.
I truthfully feel that it won't happen. I think a single out-of-squad vanity gay romance is as close as they want to go, although I think three or maybe even four lesbian romance sequences are confirmed (Kelly, Liara, the reporter, and Steve's female counterpart).
From what I understand, the "leak" is actually the talk table for whatever version Microsoft had at the time.BrianWilly wrote...

The talk table of any BioWare game is confusing. So a lot of it would be guesswork as to how the strings related, since they're not assembled in coherent, sequential order.
But I haven't seen the leak, refuse to look at it, and generally really dislike people who post things about it on the forums here. I'm looking at you, the last few pages here.
Anything is possible. I wouldn't depend on it, though.BrianWilly wrote...

Putting on my sweeping generalisation hat, but I suspect that that, again, is a much smaller demographic. Because we're basically talking about "hetero male".bas_kon wrote...

Don't get me wrong, and I'm seriously all for these options, I'm just not sure we can expect "fair" to be carrying a lot of weight when it comes to doling out resources.bas_kon wrote...

To my mind, that reply sounded generic. Or made by someone who was only vaguely informed about "something romance-related on Valentine's day".
Also, the argument about watching guys / girls doing it is strange to me, since, well, you don't actually see anyone "doing it".

Yes, there is a reasonable indication of Kaidan being available for gay romance because his voice actor said so back in June.BrianWilly wrote...

Well since Bioware has not said who is or is not "bi" they really are not playing with us. It is more of a case of... us playing with ourselves.
