I think he makes it pretty clear there was no potion, no matter if you rivalmance him or not.
Probably, I guess I was obliivious. But I only remember him saying it specifically when I chose an agressive answer which I never did other than the rivalmance. I think it was after he sneaks into the Chantry.

Agreed, except for Alistair. Killed him nearly every time, except that one time where I let him live so I could watch him get wasted in The Hanged Man.
@Solid: You killed Alistair! *gasps* EVIL! PURGE THE EVIL!
Not being able to kill Peatrice was agitating. "Oh hi there. I'm only protected by this one templar dude but I'm going to tell you to GTFO like I have an army at my back."
True enough. But what about Fenris, for example? He's willing to have mages slaughtered for
And I spend most of the game changing his attitude about that. (yay maxed rivalry!). Plus the only mages he ever hurts in my games are jerkwads that deserve it. He's not all cuddly buddy with mages (doubt he ever will be) but he never raises his hand to an innocent mage (in my games). The most I can do with Anders is get an "OMG WHAT HAVE I DONE!" after the fact.
Doesn't change the fact that he killed those fog warriors even though they treated him as one of their own. Hawke can't be sure he won't try to do the same again, thus he can also be considered a risk to those around him.
But yeah. I agree it sucks that Anders pretty much can't be changed (the plot dictates) until it's too late.
Also, agreed about the female issue. Ashley getting a skin-tight outfit while Kaidan gets the standard alliance uniform is pretty bad.
EDIT: this sounded wrong. I don't want Kaidan in a skin-tight outfit as well. I don't want him in any outfit.
@Alistair - he had it coming. Plus, Loghain is my man.

And after all the crap she put Hawke through, it was a random Qunari that had the pleasure, how unfair is that?

Really?
A. Fog. WARRIORS. (Hint: They weren't mages!)
B. It's obviously something he regrets. It's not like he did it for the evilulz. He was in slave mentality mode and following his masters orders and the realization of what he did caused him to snap. I do not hold that against him. As for happening again...well the last time Danarius ordered him to do something he got his brain splattered so I'm not too concerned.
Fenris never attacks an innocent mage (that's more than I can say about Anders! Hi there Ella!) so...and no his b**** of a sister was no innocent. Heck he won't even hand Anders and Merrill over to the templars off of respect to Hawke (he will however snitch to Meredith on that idiot noble mage if he doesn't respect Hawke enough).
LOL. Ew Loghain. I love sending his head rolling towards the floor. Blood getting on that b**** Anora is just a bonus.

Yeah. They weren't mages. And he still killed them. I don't get what you mean.
Well, Anders regrets his actions, too. It can be argued that he also changes (not after it's too late, though, again - the plot dictates) after the events of the game and doesn't end up slaughtering thousands of people. We'll never know, though, because we'll never see Hawke or Anders again (or worse, we'll see them in a cameo). After all, it's not like Anders kills those ****es in the Chantry for the lulz, either. Then again, I think blowing up the chantry is the right decision.
Yeah. Anora is a ****. Still a better queen than that whiny bastard. Well, not a better drama queen.

...Did you listen to the conversation? Or did you just hear the "I killed them." part. I don't blame him for his kills the same reason I don't blame Zev for his assassinations (It's when he gets tot he unnecessary bits that I'm...).

...I'm wiling to bet Anders killed a lot more people than Fenris did.
And yes to me it was unnecessary. Same thing could've been accomplished by assassinating Elthina with magic infront of Meredith.
Only way I'd let him off on it is if he blamed Justice but he spends so much time harping about how he and Justice are one that...yeah. Plus he could've told Hawke where the hell he put the bombs if he was so panicky during that conversation. But he didn't so their deaths are on his hands.
Yeah. Anora is a ****. Still a better queen than that whiny bastard. Well, not a better drama queen.
Psh. My Alistair's always hardened. In more ways then one.

What about all the people Anders helped save within the underground movement? Who did Fenris ever help?
Yeah sorry I don't see life as "well you saved someone so those people you killed don't matter anymore!" Plus the healing and stuff was before he jumped off the deep end. At the end of the game I see him as liability that needs to be ended quickly.
As for Fenris helping people he didn't help anyone. He for the most part minded his own business. I don't find fault in that. Probably because I'm the same way.
bigbrowncows wrote... IssacShep, any more news from that site you were looking at earlier?
If there were any more news, you would already know ;P
bigbrowncows wrote... Are we expecting the guide to leak soon?
Well, it gets released in less than 3 weeks, along with the game, and considering it's a physical item that needs to get printed and whatnot, it should start leaking any moment now. I mean, the Art of ME Universe started leaking a month prior the release

I didn't mean in the clinic (kinda forgot about that actually), I meant the underground that helped mages get out of Kirkwall that features a tiny bit in Ep3.
Probably a moot point given that I stalk this thread, but part of me would rather just know how many m/m options but not who they were. I'd rather talk to all the characters and discover who was up for it rather than talk to one character with the sole aim of romancing them. (other half of me won't settle till I know...) Of course if Cortez is the only one then that wouldn't work well either...

Wow, thanks for that. Reminded me I needed to fix Youtube. Couldn't access it since yesterday. Anyway, I don't think his slave mentality excuses him. For all Hawke knows, he could still let his issues overcome him and attack. His blatant hatred for every mage out there is also a concern (to a Hawke that's just getting to know him). My point is, they are both dangerous.
...I'm wiling to bet Anders killed a lot more people than Fenris did.
We don't know. And reasons are important as well. Fenris killed a bunch of warriors because he was traumatized. Anders killed a bunch of chantry ****es because a revolution was needed. They both had reasons that made sense, but also couldn't be excused.
And well, Anders was fighting for a just cause. That's something I can always appreciate. More than that.
