Well, remember when Casey Hudson said "no new romances" and then backtracked quickly? It makes more sense now.

Not really. They decided to add them when they extended the development time, which is why he backtracked. Originally they didn't plan to have any. As I said above, they said at Gamescom that there would be "A lot more romance options in ME3", which I thought meant that we would get some variety.

Collider wrote...

If you also count the new romances with old characters (and Diana), it comes out to be 6, which was the amount of ME2 had.

I hope that it wasn't just because of the old characters :( I was really hoping for some variety this time around, not re-hashed old chaarcters that I didn't back when they were first in the game.

Even if it is because of them, I don't think they would say "A lot more romance options" if there was only one for straight Femshep. Thats not a lot <_<

Yes, no new romances is completely false in every interpretation now.

sooo how exactly do you mod the ME3 demo to have manshep run around in his undies >_>

I dunno, I almost want to keep it to myself.

Hm....if you could get this model in the game...could you, technically, bring up any model....?

I meant it makes sense that he wasn't really thinking of the romances as "new"...and Diana Allers may have been a recent addition.

Damnit.

I still hope he's wrong.

No Vega LI sucks. Hard. And not the fun type of suck. <_<

Not until the game is released, in which case some of the novelty would be missing.
I might be able to get shots of hoody Shepard or whatever else casual/armor models are in the demo.

It would be something I didn't even consider. Really don't know what to think. The evidence that the guy's reliable is VERY strong, yet Vega not being a LI at all is something that's hard to believe

Well, I ask since we all know that you can mod the casual armors to give you Miranda's suit or Jacob's armor...I've had modified armors where Jack's head was in the helmets section. But hey - up to you. A non-spoiler thing I'm curious about is what Miranda looks like with her new hairdo - ruined forever like some of my FemSheps? Give Miranda fans something else to **** about for awhile. :innocent:

Thing is though, Vega/Sanders was in the game even when Casey originally said 'no new romances', before the additional development time allowed them to put in Steve and Sam (and Allers).

'No new romances' can easily mean 'no new romancable characters' - but have A/K available for continuation and new romances, plus Liara...

Point being: Vega/Sanders was probably never an option.

And frankly, the evidence we have in the script for a romance isn't very strong. There's flirting, but SA forum guy's statement that Vega brushes it off does strike me as likely.

So, did we interpret Vega's flirting/messing in the script incorrectly? It wasn't very incomplete like we thought but it was just that, some teasing and there just never was suppoused to be anything more?

But then again, he IS mentioned in Kelly convo. So they did think about him as LI at least at some point

I still however find it unlikely that they'd make such an obvious like denying FemSheps man romances. If Kaidan is dead...then whose left? Only women. While Allers is a casual romance which I don't even count since...I refuse to acknowledge this bimbo who was obviously placed in for monetary purposes...ManShep still has Liara. I've always said that Vega is the easiest way to balance her out since they are going to be in the squad across everyone's playthroughs.

Unles they're back to ME1 imbalance. Straight ManShep did have Liara advantage over Straight FemShep. That would be the case here...

One thing I've noticed while reading the SA thread - they're all remarkably civil people.

It's really nice.

Can I quote the Ash/Kaidan lines when I find them? Or do people still want to redirect to the other spoiler group?

If it is true and Vega is not an LI in the final game then it does show that LI's have changed since the leaked script, in which case anything is possible, really.

I pretty much resigned myself to some of my femsheps going bi, and shelving a few others.  all out of hope at this point.

So the only things we are SURE of is that "straight" female Shepard has ONE LI in ME3 who COULD BE DEAD, and that "gay" male Shepard has ONE LI.

Wow. Like, wow.

That can't be right.

Gay Shep has two.

Steve and Kaidan.

But yeah...femShep got screwed. Hard.

Didn't even get a kiss either. :?

Try also to remember that FemSheps LI in ME2 weren't...that high of caliber. Jacob completely missed the mark and Thane turned out...not that great in my opinon. Only Garrus had substance and most of his dialog was calibrations. So basically, if FemShep had killed Kaidan on Virmire...and found Jacob boring. Then what? Thane and Garrus? And both can die in ME2 btw so it's possible that FemShep couldn't even have a continuing heterosexual relationship.

Really sold out on the "lesbians are hot" Bioware....real smooth. <_<

If statistically, more FemSheps romanced Liara and/or Kelly, or more FemSheps didn't romance anyone at all in ME2, they could simply be catering to what the numbers tell them people want.  I'm not a fan of using statistics to decide how a story is told, but if they think that f/f will appeal to a greater number of gamers, that may be a bigger factor than being "fair" or balancing the number of LI choices.
