Out of curiosity isn't Jack a confirmed Bi? She did mention she was in love with a girl named Manica and they had a menage a trois with her boyfriend for a while (she then killed them both)

Jack admitted to having sex with several women, but never described them as loving relationships, and even said that the couple you mentioned was just using her. Given that her first sexual experience was probably being the sexual servant of a starship crew she met after escaping the Cerberus facility (unless she was molested at the facility itself), Bioware didn't leave much to convince me that she truly enjoys lesbian relationships, especially after her comment that she isn't part of the "girls' club."

Several other players have told me that they didn't interpret the "girls' club" line as saying she was straight, only that she's not feminine. All I know is that is the point where the female Shepard is cut off and a romance starts with the male Shepard, so I'm assuming that since she no longer has to use her sexuality as currency, she's "straight."

Others are free to disagree, and I'm NOT going to be angry with Bioware if they change their minds and make her a bisexual option, but there it is.

I'm must be in the minority then, I don't think Kaidan's attractive at all. He's too sweet and soft for me, and I'm really tired of the "sweet guy" that Bioware pastes in every game. Garrus, with his "I don't give a f$%^" attitude, I like, even though he's an alien.

"Sweet guy"?  Kaidan is not sweet.  He is soft spoken and self-controlled, but don't forget when he lost his temper as a kid he used his biotic powers and snapped his Turian instructor's neck.  He has good reason to keep himself reigned in.

Than he's soft then. My point is that he's no different from Carth(heck I think they both have the same voice actor) in terms of archetype, and I don't find it attractive. He's, as TV Tropes who'd put it, Estogen Birdgade Bait, made to carter to the tastes of most women, and some men. Is that a bad thing? 'Course not, it's good that Bioware has their clientel in mind; but for once, I'd like something different.

Well, he caters to me very effectively :D Seriously though, what he has in common with Carth except voice actor? Carth wasn't exactly a poster hunk, plus he had a grown evil son and practically started the Carth Onasi syndrome in BioWare games for male LIs with distant ex/dead wives and girlfriends and/or kids. Carth, Thane, Sky from Jade Empire, all with massive relationship baggage and/or kids. Yeah, that's so attractive.

There was some chart I saw that showed common archetypes that Bioware uses awhile ago; like "The Sweet Girl" that'll get in your pants if you make all the nice decisions(Dawn Star, Liara, Liliana) and "The Dude" that's really got nothing much else going for him except passibly good looks, polite demenour, and a troubled past(Carth, Sky, Kaiden). Both are incredibly easy to make and they both draw wide audiences, and I for one just want something a little different than before, especially since it'll be the only M/M action in an entire series. Plus, like I said earlier, Kaidan doesn't appeal to me at all, though whatever rocks your boat B).

Edit: Everyone likes links!

Think we'll find out who the s/s options are before ME3 comes out? Not sure if I'd prefer a surprise or to find out before hand so I can make a suitable Shep.

Doubt it. But I am thinking Tali, Liara, Kaidan (maybe), Jack (maybe, though highly doubtful), and Garrus (no evidence to point either way) are potential prime candidates for S/S.

Let's not be too hopeful here. There are some characters (like Miranda) who are unlikely to be bisexual. But, there will be enough options...

I would prefer if they just said it now. The longer we wait, the more we get our hopes on our expectations and what we personally want and thus the greater will be the disappointement when in the end it turnes out we were deluding ourselves for 10 months. Not to mention the speculation and the same "so they're gonna make everyone bi?!" threads will continue to pop out every day/week/month till the day of release and cause the same arguments.

They should just say who will be s/s option, no additional details, no spoilers, just cutting the speculation on "who".

Agreed. Getting sick of all these assumptions threads have been making.

I know this is bad,  but, I really would prefer having a human and an alien for female SS if we get a new bi female.

DA2 dev team did hide the S/S options prior to the release of that game, but there were enough rumors to suggest all the 4 LIs would be bi by then. I don't mind knowing only in game, but I also think they should just say who will be the S/S options here in the forums... someone who thinks knowing that would be too spoiler-ish wouldn't be actively persuing these threads anyway.

I think all past crew LI should not be s/s options

And any brand new characters they make for 3 crew or fling options could be s/s options

I doubt it. Casey Hudson said on Twitter a few days ago that revealing any romances would be spoilers, and so they aren't going to do it.

Which sucks. Another 9 months of interminable speculation isn't exactly enjoyable.

Yeah, DAII didn't reveal which love interests were open up to both sexes. We had to wait until someone downloaded a copy before the release date to find out. So it's likely we'll have to wait until just a few days before the official release dates, once the game gets dumped and someone plays it.

Part of me hopes they're doing it to avoid nine months of complaining about how character/s X don''t fit, or just plain haven't finalised who yet. Because it's all going to be marvelously written and implemented.

The other part is suspicious they're just planning to add Vega as s/s for male characters, reconsidering Liara as s/s for females and calling it a day.

I would say not...they never do in this case.

I'll still have one Shepard ready, and if she doesn't like her offerings, she'll go single and I'll kill her off at the end or something dramatic.  :innocent:

No no, see, what you do is pick your least favourite and get together with them. Then die at the end. Maximum melodrama potential achieved!

Reading some of the cryptic releases from Bioware make me believe that not even THEY know just who all will be availabe for S/S romance. At the very least the new LIs probably will, but I get the sense that within Bioware and EA themselves they're divided on the issue of S/S with veteran squad-mates.

well, i kinda hope they at least do the VS as s/s, who are the only one's really interesting to me, and sionce they originally planned to do that in the first game already anyway but chickend out near the end, i think with them its the smallest stretch
