On topic - I wonder if Kelly counts as a full romance this time around? Or just an expanded fling. I'm still inclined to count her on some level, achievement or no achievement... especially because of Allers now - there's only so many flings you can add and still call the romances 'balanced' IMO. :/ Still hoping for male flings for either gender, but if there's nothing in the leak, then I guess that's moot.

True that.
But still, who angered you, mate?
You should play some MP.
So called "help", "support groups" etc.
True about MP, is great fun and so vastly different to what you might expect from the forum's. Even to what some people on the demo are demanding as requirements to play with them on the forums, I don't know whether to laugh or cry over the idea that someone "doesn't want to waste thier time" when thier playing a demo, which they;ll have to redo in a few weeks, by playing with "new players", when it came out 2 days ago officially.

Yeah but I doubt he pays equal attention to everything. Could have just gotten some odd sounding dialogue and assumed he was. I think I read some pages ago that someone actually thought they were in a relationship with him in ME1 but then got surprised at not getting the paramour achievement at the end.
Seriously? The lack of romance dialogue didn't tip them off?![]()
Well hopefully he screwed up recognizing Vega's romance then. Please let that be so.
Haha, that was me, but you're a little off. I didn't think I had romanced Kaidan; I knew I hadn't. When I went online to see how I messed up, I was surprised to find out that he wasn't available to mShep. My point was that he did come across as possibly gay/bi, and that based on his dialogue he could/should have been made available to mShep in ME1.
Also, in defense of my naivety at the time, it was the first game I had ever played that had romanceable characters. In fact, I believe it was only the second game I'd ever played that had dialogue options (after Oblivion, which I really messed up in, because I swear this one Xivilai totally had the hots for me but I could never get him to commit
A little more on topic: I'm catching up here, and wow, this place is a rollercoaster! All I really want is to be a dirty Kaidan toucher...
Then again, all this tlk could be BW trolling hard. I have a theory. BW likes to drop hints, right? You just gotta know where to look. I was checking out that link with the classified characters thingy, and noticed Vega`s profile included "He works hard, plays hard..." and couldn`t help but think about how Vega kinda works in the aerospace industry... and his buff body suggests that he could have worked in a steel mill. Just sayin'

@Corky - my mistake, man. Still wasn't attempting to portray you as dense, because irregardless of your experience, similar things have happened before to others.

Nah I don't see BW trolling to this extent. They wouldn't have been so irritable if it was trolling on their part.

The writers were (and still are) genuinely upset. To the point of vengeful Twitter bans.

Oh, I doubt they're trolling. That was just a segueway... to a reference to the Simpsons... which I was using to imply that Vega is gay... which appears he is not. Boo-urns!

No biggie, you were making a valid point.
Besides, sometimes I can be very dense (like thinking that the totally hilarious thoughts in my twisted mind would somehow translate well into jokes in a written post).
EDIT:

So ashley seems like a no go for S/S? Hopefully we can still get miranda. I want one of the older characters for my more butch femshep. Being lesbian really doesn't fit ashley's character.
Actually Ashley is looking more promising than ever last I heard. Now that doesn't mean she is a f/f romance but we have more reason to hope now than we did before from various leaks and rumors.

I have no issue with same-sex relationships. In fact I think in the cases of RPG's that focus quite strongly on relationships they should be there. The only thing I am worried about is generally speaking Shepard has been considered straight for the past two games, I suppose this may not hold true for female Shepard if she romanced Liara as Liara does look like a woman, but, back to my point. If Shepard has been considered straight in previous titles it would feel kinda odd if Shepard doesn't comment on his/her interest in the same-sex. So, yes I think it is good that same-sex relationships have been introduced (although my Shep won't be going for one, he already has enough trouble trying to choose Miranda or Ashley) I think seeing as they haven't been mentioned before they should comment on them, to make it feel more real to the players. Well that is my thoughts anyway.
"Shepard" is different for every person who plays the game, so this comment is sort of pointless. Shepard has been considered straight to you, in your game, yeah. But to others, maybe he/she hasn't. Thats the point of having a customizeable character. You make them your own.

There's no point in either of the first two games where Shepard has to say he's explicitly straight. It doesn't come up; he doesn't mention it. The tendency to assume this means he's straight is a result of heteronormativity, i.e. the belief that someone is straight until proven gay. That's a personal and cultural bias, though, and in no way reflective of Shepard's actual sexuality. Plenty of people, myself included, have played celibate Shepards because they head-canoned that he was gay. The games still make sense, no logic is being violated.
Bottom line: you don't have to announce you're gay all the time to actually be gay.

The new Kaidan romance plays out like Kaidan and Shepard were either hiding or unaware of their feelings (for a nondescript reason).
So I think "appeared "straight" in the previous two games" is covered.

And that's the point. By allowing FemShep to be bi or a lesbian, they automatically made it valid for ManShep to be rolled as bi/gay, regardless if there were romances for him with males or not. ManShep & FemShep are suppoused to be the same character with the same customization options. If you allow the players to define sexual orientation of one, you can't say "ohh but in male version Shep is only straight". That's why Muzyka's statement was so stupid.GalacticTHOR wrote...
I suppose this may not hold true for female Shepard
