We might know for sure if a stampede of people grab weather balloons soon.

I can't imagine the SAFG slipping in wrong information amongst what amounts to pages of correct stuff, especially the way it was all so offhand. They even bothered to put spoiler tags around most of it.

Of course, they could be just misinformed - but I'm pretty confident about what they said. Call it a hunch.

Also, to satisfy my curiosity - this has been bugging me for months: did Mac Walters ever write romances (or romancable characters) for ME/ME2? Chris L'Etoile handled Ashley in ME, I can't find who wrote Kaidan or Liara, and the ME2 LIs are sorta all over the place. It's hard to even find a list of the ME2 writers at all. I think L'Etoile had Thane, but that's all I know.

I know Walters handled TIM, and he's the writer for Vega in ME3.

Edit: Okay, apparently Lukas Kristjanson wrote Kaidan in ME. This is awesome, because Aveline is just about my favourite character ever.

And apparently Weekes wrote Miranda.

Nobody has any idea who wrote Jacob.

Apparently Pacifen had a list of who wrote what. Anyone have a link?

I am still skeptical about Ash/Kaidan due to last minute cut off of Ash/Kadian/Miranda bi options as that guy obiviously playing an older version of the game.

And Yay! for Kristjanson. I loved Aveline too. Not my favorite one tho'... I love Gaider's work. Morrigan Posted Image

Lukas ended up writing Aveline from DA2 (who I've already said is my favourite character in a Bioware game, in terms of writing), Kaidan in ME and Grunt, Jacob and Joker from ME2. Plus possibly some DAO writing?

(I'm not sure if he contributed to the hilarious LotSB files, or if they were all Weekes)

Edit: Oh, Mac wrote Garrus and Wrex from ME. Awesome. Loved Wrex's gruffness.

I'm making a wild and unsubstantiated assumption that he doesn't generally write romances?

Surpised no ones mentioned this (I think).

Where's Kaidan?

I'm excited for this too, because yeah - people cemented to one area is no fun. What I'd really like is for some of your crewmembers to get involved with one another on their own. It could be random, based on who you chose to romance, whatever.

Wasn't he created to be the generic lead in a phone game? I never played it, but this is the BSN so I feel fine  blaming his personality on that. And in Mass Effect 2, Jacob was the designated male H(uman)ILF. Just not a lot to work with. I can still blame Kristjanson for the loyalty mission, which was, IMO, kind of blandsville. But that's only because I was a paragon and used to having to convince my weirdo squadmates not to murder randoms from their past, instead of the opposite. My biggest complaint about Jacob was his obnoxious "we'll talk later" line, and that disappears at the end of the game.

As for the "established sexuality" thing. A common theme you can hear is gay people saying that they've always known since an early age. But that's far from universally true. There are tons of people who didn't realize that they are gay or bisexual until their late 20s or early 30s. Especially women. Or they've noticed some signs and chosen to ignore and suppress them because they were uncomfortable with it. There are unfortunately still tons of people who marry someone of the opposite sex because it's what society expects, until they realize that it's not working some years later. So a change in someone's perceived sexuality isn't anything unusual. That goes even more so for bisexual people.

I kinda agree that Kaiden may have been written as straight through some of the incidental comments, but with Ashley it's really open

Well, that's the point. How many people, in this day & age never EVER wondered if they may have feelings for the same gender? It's one thing to come out and even admit to yourself first that "I'm gay/bi/lesbian", it's another to completly not realize you have any kind feelings like that till you're in your 30s. Personally, I don't really believe it. Especially with men. It's true that male & female sexuality/sexual sphere is a bit different, which is the only reason I may be willing to believe in case of women, it's possible a female is not aware of her bi/homosexuality till late 20s/30s. But in case of guys I don't believe it. Which is why Sky's gay romance in JE bugged me  a bit.

Love it, Imagine walking in on Kaidan blushing as Tali interrogates him over your relationship, or Garrus awkardly going "So...Shepard huh?".

Edit.: Wonder if Steve is included though or whether he's always in or by the shuttle.

You're welcome to think that dude, but the truth is that some guys don't even realize it until later.  Whether you believe facts is irrelevant.

To me later (in case of guys) is late teens, early-to-mid 20s.

People are good at lying to themselves.

I personally experienced feelings for the same gender at a very early age (like, 6 or so) but always attributed them to something else that wasn't romantic/sexual. I didn't realize what they were until mid-20s when I stopped lying to myself, I suppose. I don't know if that makes sense...it's a difficult thing to put into words.

That's my point. Brushing these feelings off, or lying to yourself is NOT not realizing compeltly and at all you may have such feelings. In the end, you know that deep down you already felt it long before. My question is: are they really people, in this day & age, who trully not even once felt something until late 20s/early 30s.

I've read many articles like that and watched many documentaries. The question is: do they say the truth, that they never EVER had any feelings for same sex till very late in life, OR, perhaps they won't admit they did? We're talking people who already admitted to a certain degree that they lied to their spouses. Never wondered if they're saying they didn't have these feelings to avoid being accused of knowingly lying to their spouses form the very beginning? Not just lying from "later in the marriage"?

Okay, I see now.

I imagine there are people who experienced that kind of change though I'd guess more people did the denial/lying to yourself thing considering how homosexual relations are viewed in our society (we still have a ways to go).

Fellow Veganatics Mac Walters just tweeted that BW will not be confirming any further LI info. However he essentially said you *want* Vega in your squad. I don't think he was referring to combat style. For proof go to the Vega 2.0 thread pg 15 or 16. Reminder his LI status is still officially unknown.

Apropos realization... Peoples' sexuality IS fluid. It can change over time (and I'm not talking about 'pray the gay away' stuff). Also, I know people who were str8 for most of their lives, but found someone of the same sex for whome they started to feel "more". But only one person. Or that one person changed them and has awaken something. Or just get drunk enough to flip-flop in either direction (Posted Image). But, still, this is either "Izzy or Izzy-not" game or guessing what the writers thought it would fit in the game. M.

Okay stop asking them if Vega is a LI. Ask the Bioware people if we get to see Vega naked. I can head-canon it from there.

More likely whoever was writing that piece of code mixed up Samantha with Allers.

Considering how "Spoiler" (is there really any point in saying that now?) is the worst kept secret in the history of anything (just slightly above Kaidan digging ManShep), you'd think there'd be more on Sam. Did SA guy mention her even? Maybe he didn't notice she was that unique a character, might be good news for people worried she might have got a special model.

You almost have to admire bioware at this point for maintaining thier silence on things, news later this week on the DLC...what else can they say without detailing everything now?
