Well, Ash was supposed to be bisexual, but BioWare changed it before the game's release. I'm cool with it either way, but I still think it's weird that they wait until the third game for Ash to show interest in FemShep. People can come up with all the excuses in the world, it doesn't change the fact that her sexuality was deliberately changed because of the smaller crew in ME3, and probably just plain old fan service.Serenity84 wrote...
As for the "established sexuality" thing. A common theme you can hear is gay people saying that they've always known since an early age. But that's far from universally true. There are tons of people who didn't realize that they are gay or bisexual until their late 20s or early 30s. Especially women. Or they've noticed some signs and chosen to ignore and suppress them because they were uncomfortable with it. There are unfortunately still tons of people who marry someone of the opposite sex because it's what society expects, until they realize that it's not working some years later. So a change in someone's perceived sexuality isn't anything unusual. That goes even more so for bisexual people.
I kinda agree that Kaiden may have been written as straight through some of the incidental comments, but with Ashley it's really open
To sum up: it's gonna feel cheap.

This, this, and this so much !
I'd even add; people are more likely to be attracted each other when they face together though situations, like y'now some desesperate mission to save the galaxy against an unspoppable foe

Unless Harkin was going to call male Shepard a princess at one point in the game.
Or male Shepard could call him/herself a woman at one point in the game.
Both male and female Shepard record the same lines for the sake of convenience.

BUT....it was considered at one point since the dialog was all there but they decided that it didn't work to just transplant it.Collider wrote...

Okay stop asking them if Vega is a LI. Ask the Bioware people if we get to see Vega naked. I can head-canon it from there.
Hah so true! That is a great idea Chun! I will go tweet them now about this!

Oh yeah, because 'fanservice' = cheap and bad.

1. Another rehashed argument about "changing" the sexualities of characters from previous games.
2. Debate #3,685 about whether the Asari count as female (and therefore s/s) or not.

lol they are shooting copies of the game over certain regions for people to get a free copy of the game as early as tomorrow in San Francisco and over the past couple days in different places. I don't think we will have to wait much longer.

No it can't. Sexuality is determined at birth and through your childhood. When you're 20 you normally stop growing both physically and psychologically, at this point your sexuality has been developed but perhaps not manifested yet.
If a man find himself married with a woman and with children at age 50 but realizes that he's attracted to men, he's always been either gay or bisexual, he just realizes this now, or perhaps he has lived in denial. Many gay and bisexual people live in denial of their sexuality, which is sad, but to say that people change their sexuality over time is wrong.

Ummm, no. Might be the case for some people, but it's certainly not universal.

If Kaidan and Ashley are available for s/s - and it looks like they are - then they're available for s/s.
We don't need a thesis on human sexual behaviour to work out why or how. You can headcanon it if you like, but Bioware aren't going to give it any explanation beyond the cursory "I've liked you since Eden Prime".
