i'm on board with that, it is very reasonable and logical that the VS squadmember simply didn't tell shep ,male or fem, about their sexuality because for most bisexuals their sexuality is not that big a deal, " so i like insertgenderhere too, boo hoo, what's the problem with that?" , therefore they just don't see it as worth mentioning to their BOSS for christ sake, however liberal/paragon theys are, they could just want to avoid discrimination or simply awkwardness with shep. no big stretch, perfectly realistic,

same goes for shep of either gender, perception and prejudice is an ugly thing

and i'm going to repeat myself again; the imo most probable s/s LI's are the respective VS's, simply for the reason that they already should have been an s/s option in ME1 , very much possible that bioware didn't include them in ME1 to give them more depth and meaning in ME 3!!!

and if anyone has a problem with that just don't play them!  *facepalm about peoples general ignorance and arrogance: "I don't want that in my game, so everyone else can't have it aswell""

I don't think anyone means to be hostile, at least I hope they don't. I urge everyone to be respectful when discussing this subject. It is perfectly okay for people to have differing opinions in this thread.

Back on topic though,  I really do hope that Vega has a point.  If he's simply there for tokenism I'll be quite sad.

I actually don't think they thought that far ahead, to be honest. There would be a lot more "easter eggs" in an unmodified game if that were the case. BioWare has made several statements about this, and they all kind of contradict each other, so we'll probably never know what their original intent was in ME1. But ME1 is ancient history, we're talking about ME3 now, and what they do now, while being informed by the characters history, shouldn't be straightjacketed by it, in my opinion. If ME3 Ashley is just the same Ashley that I saw in ME1, with nothing new to say, I'm going to be rather disappointed. I hope she's grown and changed in the last two years, and I hope she's a lot less deferential toward Shepard. She and Shepard are equals now, so the tentative girl with old-fashioned ideas should be replaced with an empowered woman with old-fashioned ideas—and some new ideas. Whether this new Ashley is also a s/s option isn't as important to me, but I don't want all the returning characters to be static characterizations with no forward movement.

siansonea, i was just putting forward an imo logical reasoning/ explanation for a now "suddenly" lesbian/bi ash, of course i want her to evolve, i would be extremely dissapointed if bioware botched that, her development could of course also give explanations on the matter..

I don't think so, as long as Sian consented and I wouldn't want to hijack the thread with my ideas without approval!  It's just an idea, it may not work after all but it's something to consider.

I'd be worried about that too, whatever we do to keep things fresh has to be "on-topic". As we've seen in this thread and in its predecessors, the mods are ever watchful and won't hesitate to shut us down if we go off the rails or get too snippy with each other.

I'm not opposed to the idea in principle, I agree that 9 months of "girl's club" and "losing a limb" is going to get old. So we do need to float some ideas around about other stuff that's relevant to the topic. We might want to do that in the group threads though. We don't want to get off-topic by discussing how to keep the thread on-topic.

That might be the best idea but it won't do any good if we don't get traffic through there.  And we won't get near as much as we get here.   My proof?  Well just look at where the suggestions have been posted and nothing is in the FFTL group thread besides Sian reply yet.  The more people that would participate, the better.

I was just about to post a suggestive FemShep/Ashley screenshot in the Ashley support thread yesterday, when I stopped myself, because I know there are people there, who'd probably find that offensive.

Well, we can't go crazy with photos here either, but the FFTL group is a place where such things could be posted and enjoyed. There are many FemShep/Ashley fans who would like some nice images.

This is a good point. Just because we have this thread in the open forums doesn't mean that we should abandon the group and group threads. And anyone who regularly posts here should already be a member of the group, but if you're not, PM me and I'll send you an invite.

I know this isn't on topic but I've never been one to follow the rules...

Everytime you post I want a a cheeseburger!  Preferably either one from In-N-Out or homemade with just cheddar cheese, bacon and BBQ sauce. Psychotic killerness optional.
