EDIT: Reading the dialogue again. Am I the only one totally loving all the completly-direct references to Shep and Kaidan's male gender? This is just too perfect, I honetly kind of expected them to avoid it like a plauge even this s/s romance happened

That is going to be the best part of the scene. Kaidan's all emotional and Shep's all stoic.

And it's ten times better when you hear it too.

Lol, I was wondering when all this info would come. It looks like its time to leave the forums till I beat ME3. I found out what I wanted (kaidan s/s) and that's ALL I want to know, lol. Except if mShep can flirt with vega (I know he's not a LI).

Thank you so so SO MUCH Klace!  And I don't mind at all if after this dialogue the romance is gender ambogious. IMO this first dialogue dwells on their male gender so much already that everything's already explained and they can just go on with a standard romancey stuff

ALso Klace, are you sure Kelly, Garrus & Tali are NOT available for fresh romance in ME3? Only continued one?

they did carry from ME1 to ME2 so I think they will work in ME3 too. Especially since there's confusion with Tali. In Kaidan/Ashley's case, it could've been harder because there are new romances, including new ones for the same gender so that could result in some uber conflict/bug but Tali should work

I haven't even started my fem shep playthrough yet. I'd like to know if they handle it the right way or not. If it's believable with Ash, I'd spare her on Virmire, even though I already did that with my male shep.

Lives depend on Klace to type out that dialogue!

it's kind of like DA2, but even more up to interpetation. Pretty clear it's made this way so FemSheps can head-canon that he's actually still straight and will never meet a guy who makes him relalize he likes guys too, and at the same time ManSHeps can legitimately head-canon "you silly Kaidan you, it ain't just me, it doesn't work this way. If it wasn't for me, some other guy would sooner or later made you realize you like guys too"

I think Klace said he did a few pages back. It's still not quite clear how he looks- honestly, I thought he looked a lot better in the demo itself than in the pictures from the demo. SA guy said he was black, which I didn't realize at first but can see now.

Haha, man, he sounded like he's been drinking, started overthinking things and just went "ah, to hell with it" and poured his heart out. Which ended in more overthinking when he sobered up. In my honest opinion, Sbarge is a really great actor, no bias here, when I listened to it, I could imagine the exact expressions on his face at that moment and think "that's exactly how I've felt". You can hear the layers, all that's there and is not being openly said. I don't know, that's my impression anyway.

I know, someone said it's not exactly high literature, but it's so honest and actually organic, it flows like a real conversation, no huge, overly thought-out phrases that conversations in some shows and in the majority of games tend to suffer from...  And it's true to the character.

This! Trying to insert some complex poetic lines would be just trying too hard cliches. This works great and I'm absolutely loving all the blunt "I'm a man, you're a man" mentions And the "mixed singlas", and how he says he's contriadicted himself, lol it's just all great xD

You can talk to him again soon after.
He kind of explains that even for himself the feelings came out of nowhere.
He never thought he'd feel that way for another man, and he doesn't think he will ever again, just for Shepard.

sounds like a pretty clear case of "its ok if its with you"  /shrug.  I'd rather they didn't take this particular shortcut, but hey, its easier to write then trying to explain Kaidan as bi-sexual.
