Well I'm more irritated by previously straight love interest (Ashley)
now being a bisexual character. Kaiden is dead in all of my playthroughs
so I don't care as much.  I think Bioware going out of their way to
make them both bi all of a sudden along with the addition tonew bi and
s/s exclusive options is an example of grossly excesive pandering and
fan service.

I love how their romances aren't fanservice until they're made bisexual.

It's cute how people try to pretend the romances weren't fanservice to begin with.

Liara was a s/s romance option from the start. It wasn't pandering or fan service. It's just a part of who the character was but taking previously straight characters and making them bi to satisfy certain people on these boards who wanted them to be is definitely the bad kind of pandering and fan service that  I wish Bioware would stop.

the bad kind of pandering to fan service would have been no gay/bi squadmates all bioware has done is make the game and romances more real as it never made sense that everyone is straight in the universe

How is having more options bad?
DA2 simply made the most efficient use of its limited resources and in the process provided us with some real choice for once.
In ME3 they made the exclusively gay guy look so generic that he's virtually indistinguishable from some minor background characters while they have apparently gone to great lengths to craft a unique face (and probably an outfit too for the f/f exclusive) which does give the impression that Bioware just wanted to get the token gay guy out of the way so they could focus on adding more hot wimminz. Considering all that I'm very glad we get Kaidan and a flirt option with Steve.

Yes I'm seeing it as fan service because that's exactly what it is at it's very worst in fact. Whether or not it caters to me doesn't change that. I do enjoy Bioware's games but I really hope they stop with such frivolous pandering in the future.

Out of curiosity, how does what happens in someone else's game affect you?

This type of fanservice makes a lot more people happy than angry

Well my FemShep who has romanced Kaidan is a pure, cold hearted evil **** and Kaidan romances her happily enough, so long as you're just nice enough to Kaidan he won't break up with you no matter what. 
Though from what I gather handing over the collector Base to Cerberus in ME2 does seem to lead to some trust issues with the VS , so who knows.

I suppose you didn't like the Garrus and Tali romances? Please do be consistent.

Anyways all I can say is I wish BW had made the VS bi from the start. Would've solved a lot of problems. As it is. Well I'm happy. If you're not well...there's nothing I can do about it.

Frankly I'm not a fan of fan service at all but making previously non romance options into romance  options isn't nearly as extreme as the kind of fan service that changes straight characters to bi characters. But since you brought it up i was actually kind of weirded out by the Tali romance to be honest and the Garrus romance I thought was just gross. Thankfully there was no sex scene at least.

So great to hear about ashley. Since this is a new thing there probably won't be any circumstantial restrictions on romancing ashley as a Femshep coming from maybe having had some liara or kelly in the past? do any leaks touch on that? Kaiden always seemed like he would be gay to me. I really don't see why there wasn't a Male same sex option in the past two games. It would have been so awesome to see that tension balloon throughout the trilogy only to magnificently fruition in the final game.

One of the most exciting things about ME3 will be seeing how some of the romances from past games will pan out. You just know some will be disappointed, i'm looking at the jack,miranda,thane and jacob lovers. My guess is those will likely boil down to a simple makeout sesh at the end of either the game or their cameo mission. There's only so much room on one disc.

Also complaining about "making straight characters gay" completely misses the point of the series. This is a story driven action game where YOU drive the story . Just because kaiden or ashley are gay in one player's desired path of the story doesn't mean they're officially gay in the canon. These paths are designed to the personal preferences of the players it'd be stupid NOT to make ashley and kaiden BI. You'd be alienating you're gay/bi players that have been with you from the beginning.

If they don't provide it, don't do anything and keep posting here.

If they do provide it, write to EA HR and you could possibly make a formal complaint about the language.
