SA guy said that Steve has darker skin, too. Interesting.
I think someone at Bioware rediscovered the part in the story bible where it says human society of the late 22nd century is a melting pot of cultures.
It's definitely a welcome thing. Makes a nice change from the usual vaguely-American/Canadian characters.

Yup. I think SA guy outright said that Steve Cortez was a black guy.
Well, considering his last name is Cortez, and Vega apparently calls him Esteban, I'd say he was Latino/Hispanic descent.

Just for everyone's information...I'm on the SA forums and I asked the reliable leak guy -- guy who first mentioned that Kaidan and Ash are bi and James is not an LI -- if Samantha does indeed look like her VA. He responded that she does not, and that she has dark skin along with dark hair.
Here's his response in full if you'd like to read it.
Take it for what you will, but to me this sounds pretty definitively like Chris was right and that Klace was BSing most everything he mentioned. He certainly was not playing an advance copy of the game, at least.
that's cool, as long as she is not too much of a butch or a lipstick lesbian.

Oh well, I've still got hope. Given that I was already pretty much sure that Kaidan would be a s/s choice before Klace, I still haven't changed my thoughts on that.
I AM a little confused by why the s/s romance characters are being kept hush-hush. It's not like everything else hasn't been leaked 9.9

Hispanic is a Spanish-based culture that literally covers every race out there.
I wonder if Samantha will be a Brit of Hindu-Indian or Arabic descent. Its all good.

I think he mentioned that he's refraining from posting anything that might be construed as legit plot stuff.
can you ask him if Samantha has a Kelly-like personality (Friendly to people, and flirty towards shepard)?

I am a straight male and I am all for same sex relationships in Mass Effect. That is to say so long as it fits the characters. Just making a character gay for the sake of fan-serivce is wrong IMO. You should create new characters with their sexual-orientation in mind. Turning an estabilished character gay isn't cool. Also, having them only be a certain orientation based on the characters interactions isn't cool too. IMO, it takes away from the illusion that they're real people if I can just start hitting on them and they all of a sudden go gay for me. Anway, that's just my 2 cents.
I just want to say that see people say "suddenly being gay" and all the like... and I have to wonder, who is to decide whether it's "sudden" or not? I think everyone should be aware that sometimes people are not completely open about their sexual preferences. It is entirely possible that Kaidan has always found ManShep attractive, but never felt comfortable voicing it. I mean sure, he's open with FemShep about his attraction to her but that's only natural if he only has any real experience with women and is either in denial or outright closeted about his attraction to men. If this were the case (and if Kaidan is indeed a s/s LI in Me3, it is) it's totally understandable that he's only now giving voice to his attraction, especially with the fate of the galaxy hanging in the balance. Hell it could be his last opportunity for all he knows.
Not everyone is a completely open book. I can almost promise that you, as a straight male, are likely to have (or have had) male friends/associates posing as straight but have some level of attraction to men without any suspicions from you or others around them. It's a lot more common than many people think. As a confidently out masculine guy (and a looker if I might add), even I've been surprised by some of the guys who have approached me on the low, even at my own university. But no one else would ever know. I know that scares some people, but it's the truth.
Setting that aside, I personally think it's less cool for Kaidan to have been a potential bi LI from the beginning, and had that option removed. And while creating new characters for certain purposes is nice, I don't see why people interested in m/m relationships should be the only ones barred from having a LI that was with them from the beginning. If Steve is the only m/m relationship, it will be appreciated, but will be nowhere near the depth of a potential relationship with Kaidan who was at Shepard's side in Me1, and at odds with Shep in Me2. Without Kaidan people interested in a m/m relationship will be the only ones with no option for a character that has prior history with Shepard. How is that cool?
Mind you, this is coming from a gay guy without a gay Shepard. My Shep is totally in it with Miranda and I plan to keep it that way. If Kaidan's a m/m LI I'll probably go through it for the experience, just to appreciate it, but his not being a m/m LI won't affect my "canon" Shepard at all. I don't craft my characters based off of my own attractions. Still, I'll defend our access to a deeper m/m relationship all day.

First of all Kaidan was originally intended to be a romance option for both the male and female Shepard, so him being a romance option for male Shepard in ME3 isn't that much of a stretch (at least in my mind). And I apologise if this has been brought up before.
I am a fan of Torchwood (I know this sounds a little of OT butplease bear with me). In Torchwood one of the male characters, Ianto Jones, is in a relationship with Captain Jack Harkness. In the obligatory "coming out to the family" scene, Ianto identifies himself as straight but happens to be in a relationship with another man.
This is becoming common; at least in Aus and the UK where people who identify themselves as straight have been in a relationship with a person of the same gender. Partly out of a sence of sexual adventure and curiosity but also because they became very close with this person and a sexual relationship seemed like a natural progression of that relationship.
I was playing the ME3 demo and in the character build screen it made comments about how the death of Kaidan or Ashley has built a strong bond between Shepard and the surviving team member, and a bond like that could easily (at least in my mind) transend the labels that the characters may have geven themselves. Also Shepard is potrayed as a very charismatic individual; one who could make species irrelevant, so why not gender?

Also he posted(confirmed) all romance options in game and one interesting fact about Garrus/Tali.
Now I tempted to leave them alive at least on one playthrough. Now need to arrange my sheps in 2+2+2 format to enjoy all romances.

Oh boy, here comes the "everyone is secretly a bit gay" crowd
Too bad study after study shows that gays/bisexuals only account for a measly 4% of the human population.. With that said, I don't know how you people have managed to convince the World that there are much more of you than there really are.
Must be that ridiculous Kinsey study (10% are gay/bi) from decades ago, which has been debunked I don't know how many times.

Actually, we've done a stellar job of convincing the world there so many less of us than there really are.
It'll make the hostile takeover THAT MUCH EASIER. Don't tell anyone.
