I've been laughing so much at that Party Temple thread all day. Only half way though it.

Also Erasure - Always maybe was the song I was thinking of, but I don't know, gender neutral but so OTT, it's the song for MShep/Kaidan to ride off into the distance over a rainbow on a unicorn (collecting fairies and dodging rocks).

That song and that image...:lol:

Here's another manShep/Kaidan one. Depeche Mode - Nothing's Impossible @all the naysayers :wizard:

That word is an abomination. Wasn't male Shepard hairy in the first game? Kaidan was anyway, as far as I remember from the videos. If no chest hair, they should at least have some on arms and legs, James too.

Indeed, just imagine if Joker is also a Ken doll. At the moment he takes off his shirt, I would probably start giggling like a little girl.

Hmm...Off Topic probably but I don't think FemShep looks anorexic???? I think she looks like she weights more than enough and like she used to be fat but lost weight. Is that just me being incredible weird or?
It's just the way that I see it a)her boobs are sacking to much for their size and considering the fact that FemShep should be someone working out b)she has that weird out of proportion body style of an really big butt (which looks to be fat only and no muscle if you look at the pic of her walking with Anderson) c) there's one rip only sticking out and her hipbones are far to prominent (I don't think that happens unless you have had drastic weightloss?) c)in that running pic it looks like there's just fat moving around on her back....
not trolling,I've just seen a few mentions of her looking anorexic in here and now I'm really wondering if it's just me having having completely unrealistic expectations...

Maybe they share the body meshes but have different textures depending on the NPC...that would make more sense than having everyone hairless, imo.

Would you like to define what you mean by "normal"? You mean quantitative normal? Why, sure, these people belong to the minority. Also belonging to the minority: lefthanded people, gingers, blondes, blue-eyes people... are they "not normal" as well?

Normal in a biological context means functioning or made as intended.  Intersex people, like siamese twins, are mistakes of nature....much like club foot, cleft palates etc...

Gays are similar in this respect also, in the sense that their abnormal sexuality was caused by a birth defect; ie imbalanced hormone exposure in the womb.

There is a great deal of evidence in support of this theory, as it's biologically known that sex hormones such as testosterone, estradiol etc are primarily responsible for the development of our sexual characteristics, both physical and psychological.

This theory explains why homosexuality occurs more often in men than in women (more than 2:1), and why there is also a degree of heritability, as hormonal production is influenced by genes.

It's quite possible that one day, Science will have found a way to screen for homosexual development in fetuses and correct it by adjusting the hormonal balance.

Partly true: not all sexual pleasure is rooted on reproduction. Take a moment to familiarize yourself with female sexuality, for example.

I've read that when a woman has an orgasm, her uterus contracts which helps to suck up any sperm in her vaginal canal..

And even if it was, I think we humans have done a bit too well with populating this planet, so reproduction isn't really a problem to our species.

I agree, but the truth still holds that sex is primarily intended for reproduction.

This OP is a work-in-progress, so bear with me (and feel free to make suggestions).

This thread's purpose is to discuss same-sex romance in Mass Effect 3.

This thread's purpose is NOT to discuss real-world issues related to homosexuality, gender identity, politics, religion, etc.

This thread doesn't exist for people to express that they are against the inclusion of same-sex romance either. It's been confirmed by BioWare, and if you want to petition them to take it out, do it somewhere else.

Not at all, it is in the end all about perception. He did mention the "views" in Chora's Den and his remarks towards Liara, however the game never presents an opportunity in which he might comment on the attractiveness of a man so while his attraction to women is established, his attraction to men or lack thereof is still up in the air.

How do you figure?  Kaidan had plenty of opportunities to make remarks about MaleShep....but he didn't, unlike Ashley.

So based on that information, yes, we may assume he is straight but that is all it is, an assumption. But to say that he is "suddenly bi" is based on a lack of established information vital to defining his true sexuality, in otherwords ignorance.

I suppose what it comes down to in the end, is the writers intent.  From my perspective, the writers of Mass Effect intended Kaidan to be perceived as heterosexual, seeing as he was the primary love interest for FemShep.

We can only assume from what is given, and not from our own wishful thinking.

Oh I'm well aware of his hijinks. My first post on these forums after the 24 hour wait time was one calling out his copious usage of fallicies.  I call out stupidity when I see it.

There is no default sexuality. Homosexuality is not a fringe sexuality.

So our species does not reproduce sexually, and homosexually is a mainstream sexuality is that what you're telling me?

Sexuality is fluid for many people and whether Kaidan finds women attractive or not is irrelevant. But I can tell this concept is too hard for you to understand. It is hard to think outside of the box if you've been told something your whole life.

Define many people.  I want numbers.  I'm prepared to cite numerous statistics which demonstrate that gays and bisexuals only account for approximately 4% of the human population.  That number is repeatable, even across nations.

And arguing that the majority should get their way over the minority shows that you are speaking from a place of (historical) power. Just because there is a majority, it doesn't mean that the minority's needs should be ignored or forgotten about. Look how that has turned out in real life. Plus how many games pander to the LGBTQ community? Come on. If you're going to discuss an issue at least be educated about the other perspective and the facts.

I have never said gays should be ignored.  If you've been reading my posts, then you'd know I've supported exclusive S/S romances.

My objections come from having previously known heterosexual only characters now becoming bisexual a la Anders..

Intersex/transgender/transexual/genderqueer HUMAN BEINGS aren't mistakes. And it is pretty damn ignorant of you to think so. Obviously you're not educated on these matters nor have met these individuals. If you did, you would realize they are as normal as you and I. Well...at least me.

So someone born with both a set of male and female sex organs is perfectly normal then eh? Posted Image

No wonder I'm having such a hard time, when the people I'm debating with don't even have a basic grasp of human physiology.

Okay, Carfax is blatantly ignoring the blatant "This thread's purpose is NOT to discuss real-world issues related to homosexuality, gender identity, politics, religion, etc." Can't someone please report him? I was hoping this thread would stay on track >.< I like debates as much as the next person, but this isnt the place for it, ne?

You have some serious issues if you think intersexed people don't count as humans, just because they don't fit your black-and-white view of gender.

*sigh*

Cite where I said intersex people don't count as humans.  I said they were a mistake, in the sense that their physiology does not function as intended.

And RATIONAL people understand this, because intersex babies typically undergo corrective surgery.

No, you're having a hard time because you're incapable of grasping the concept of headcanon in a genre that lends itself to it.
In other words, unless a character's sexuality is previously explicitly stated, no canon is being broken by revealing characters as bisexual. That is the only thing that matters, not your pitiful arguments over what's "normal" in the real world. That is against thread rules.
