Seriously, I don't think it's a leap of faith for straight female Shepard not to get any new options.
Bioware has consistently favored male players and player characters, at least for Mass Effect. I don't like this, but it seems the sad truth.
Imported straight female Shepards will already have had 3-4 romances. New straight female players playing female Shepard will likely have Kaidan as the VS. I imagine Bioware may think that's enough, with a psuedomance with Vega as extra.
while cynical me tends to agree with you, one of the developers did tweet back that femshep will have other options even with Kaidan dead (the question was specificaly about male options). especialy since new games do get to chose their VS (without knowing much about them, presumably), so it is possible that new players might chose Ashley as their virmire survivor in creation screen.
the information seem just rephrasing of speculation/leaks/rumors we already have, so unless page scans show up online, I for one intend to remain sceptical. especialy after Klace and his little piece of fanfiction.
edited, VS was NOT planned as BI in ME1. I don't know why people persist on perpetuating this, but they were originaly planned as straight, then femshep and maleshep recorded redundant dialogue (becasue at the time, they were still using paper printouts and it was easier and faster to do then try and separate it) developers then concidered expansion, realized that it didn't quite work with existing dialogue and scrapped it. it was an after thought of a possibility rather then plan, scrapped out of frea like some people would like you to beleive. yes there are developer quotes. as well as recordings of maleshep claiming to liara that he's a woman and chewing Harkin out for calling him princess
