They care enough to come here to post against it again and again and to start hater's threads every now and then.
So yes, I have the feeling that they care even more for the unavaiability of our options, than the avaiability of theirs, or maybe they just take them for granted, too much privilege for those spoiled kids...

They're upset enough that we have Steve; I don't think that Kaidan being available for s/s, or not, will tip the scales in one direction or another.  They're far more upset that Shepard is gay in someone else's universe.

I don't know man, it seems to me they are grasping straws. Since m/m was confirmed, the most they could do to bother us was trying to keep our options to the minimum (one) and try to prevent a possible quasi-trilogy romance, which they did try (and quite likely successed) indeed.

Ah. Do we have the same confirmation with Kaidan? Maybe Ashley just needs a little more time to come around?  

Ashley could also be straight, and Kaidan bi (or at least Shepardsexual).  That would even the s/s options up a little, instead of Miss Shepard having 4 and Mr. Shepard only 2.

That's another posibility, but given the former treatment given to m/m in ME franchise and the fact that every non official info claims both VSs are s/s I don't find it likely.

I guess if they wanted to make Kaiden and Ash more different from each other that would make sense. But I just don't see the point of doing that for only one of them and not the other since they're literally interchangable.

He just said he couldn't flirt with her (that he noticed).

He also imported a Liara romancer and committed to her (apparently, once you 'commit' that kills all other romances).  If Ash's romance takes longer to develop (it probably will in general b/c of the Cerberus/distrust thing), then he may have just may have committed to Liara too soon to see any of it.

So, it's still not set in stone either way.

It's not a competition, man~~ And that'd seem really strange considering that straight female Shepard could still be totally boned (or not amirite), romance-wise if she played her cards wrong, and also  the following EXCELLENT, PROBABLY NOT TERRIBLY NOVEL, FANWANK:

To those concerned about the VS "suddenly becoming bi"- they seem to have absorbed the soul of their dead counterpart the moment that bomb went off. Don't they start sharing lines after that in Mass Effect 1? We see this in the opening of Mass Effect 3, too. They're still distinct entities, but they share certain personality traits/exact lines of dialogue, clearly. HILFs gotta stick together, even in death. It just takes them some time to realize that they're down for some S/S lovin'. So stop being concerned about this, haters.

And I'm not wading through that thread. There are plausible explanations as to why he couldn't flirt with Ashley, but she could also just be straight-up heterosexual.

I don't think he's necessarily giving out spoilers since he can't.  It's the people who've read the leaked script that are doing the major discussion, those are the ones you should avoid and they kind of post all over so it's difficult to avoid.  After I get log off here tonight, I'm going dark until the weekend.  I have some major assignments to complete and then I'll check back in to see if there's news on the romance front.

Dude just said when he attempted to flirt with Ashley, he was committed (what does this mean? idol speculation: maybe he couldn't interact with Ashley, and therefore try, that heavily until he was committed, for plot reasons). He hasn't answered questions about whether he was committed before sleeping with Samantha.

He claims to have discussed being together with Liara before sleeping with Samantha. He said something about the final committment (boning? boning) not happening until the end sequence. What are any of us even talking about when we talk about committment? It's impossible to say. I am wary of directly copying posts from that thread.

I feel I should note that it IS possible, although difficult, to miss out on romances in Bioware games if you avoid too many of your character's creepy, or ambiguous, come-ons, so don't lose hope, wannabe Ashleymancers.

edit: Ashley was on the Citadel (and unavailable, I guess) when he got with Samantha. Maybe he really was locked in before then.
