@ Epic, Midey:  Please for the love of god, we've been over this so many times already,

just accept that there are people with opinions different to yours.

In your game, and mine too by the way, garrus or any other character for that matter may be straight, but since Bioware games make it the players CHOICE to decide upon that, in someone else's playthroughs garrus may be totally gay because they chose to see him that way, so just let the issue rest, i'm sick of this starting all over again every time someone new comes into this thread and thinks he/she has to convince everyone else of how wrong they are!

just drop it and work on your ignorance/arrogance for a bit

This is after all a PRO s/s romance thread!

They are allowed to disagree on the basis of character continuity, but not because they dislike homosexuality for whatever reason they may have, like "wasted resources" and etc.

my point exactly, my problem is that they don't give arguments to support their claim other than it would "ruin the character for them"

Well they're perfectly entitled to that opinion, but it doesn't mean that you need to respond to that opinion.  Just respect that they have an opinion, as we all do.

i do respect it, i'm just annoyed by the fact that its such a repetitive event.

i would have no problem with the posting if there was an "imo" or "from my point of view" included,
so as to stress they the fact that they don't want to force this opinion on everyone else and respect theirs.

as i'm always, saying, don't like it don't play it, but give others the chance to enjoy it

Yes, some people can't express their disagreement/disgust tactfully.  Or they don't want to, to get a rise out of people.  Just keep cruising.

but really what's with garrus !?!?!?!?!?!
as far as i'm concerned he can remain hetero .i'm fine with just male bonding ( i love him in battles ) .

what went through the designers'head when they came up with turians ...they draw a head, torso, arms, then come the legs and as they join them at the hips ... that's when i just have to wonder , it's gotta be somewhere!?

I leave to go to bed and the thread gets invaded with trolls.
Yes, that's what Epic is doing. He and others are free to disagree, but he's adding nothing to the discussion and being overtly snide. He is free to move along.

For what it's worth, I'm in the camp that says, "If they were supposed to be s/s in the first place, but were cut for time, just give us that and I'll be happy." Nobody -needs- to be s/s to appease the fans. Opening up characters for s/s that were already intended to be isn't compromising their character, it really isn't. I doubt dialogue was re-written or re-recorded just because the dev team said "We need to cut some material in order to meet our deadline." I mean, that would be counter productive to the whole point of cutting material.

They do if they want to be able to use a urinal.

Watch Shepard getting drunk at the Citadel.  There's a turian using a urinal.

What happened to the "Solution to S/S problem" thread on the ME3 General Discussion board? Was it deleted entirely?

Some of the early posts were a little... over the top. ("Sick mental fantasies", I remember).

Nope, Garrus is queer. He might not be ****** but he's definitly not of your typical sexual orientations the same can be said of Tali.

Guys, let's not respond to Epic Legion. He's in the wrong thread. He needs to be in another thread. Respond to people who are in the wrong thread by politely informing them that they are in the wrong thread. Sometimes people don't read the OP, and they think this is the place to discuss how much they object to same-sex content in games. Read Chris Priestly's comments on the matter in the stickie for this entire forum.

This thread is for people who SUPPORT inclusion. We're here to discuss the different ideas respectfully, we acknowledge everyone's right to a differing opinion. Even the people who don't support inclusion have a right to their opinion, it just needs to be expressed elsewhere.

Hmmm, you might be in the wrong thread too. In any case, "ruining" Garrus isn't our call. It's BioWare's decision. All we're doing is bouncing ideas off one another. Whether BioWare uses any of them is anybody's guess. But if you've got other preferences for s/s implementation, let's hear them.

The Garrus/Tali romances made no sense in the first place, from a physical attraction perspective.

It makes about as much sense for Garrus to be attracted to female humans over male humans (or Tali for vice versa) as it would if Shepard were more attracted to deciduous or evergreen trees.

The difference between species' physiology is so far removed from the difference between human genders that it makes no sense for an alien to find only one gender attractive.

I can only assume that the fact that they're only open to opposite-sex romances was a rather clumsy imposition of 21st century norms. It certainly makes no sense from an in-universe perspective, if we take it as given that Garrus and Tali were more attracted to Shepard as a 'person' and a leader, than to her or his gender.

That doesn't necessarily mean I'd advocate for bisexual familiar alien squadmates in ME3, though. Bioware might need to run with the mistake they've established, and the fan outrage would be ridiculous if "OMG MY BRO GARRUS" was open to both genders.

I just kinda "assumed" that turian/quarian genders were somewhat reminiscent of human men and women.

That is certain behaviour, priorities, oppinions and so forth. Could you call it general mannerisms?

Very generally though...

Interesting thing to ponder here. If alien genders are totally irrelevant... Did any of you gay/lesbian players here then romance opposite sex aliens like garrus/thane/tali with a somewhat naturality (a samewhat felt attraction to the character) to it?

Because I personally was not attracted to eg. garrus or thane.

Now if that thing is really hardwired as I think it would kinda make sense that the same kind of hardwiring would be in effect in the future. Also in aliens.

I always found Garrus' rather clumsy attempts to compliment Shepard about her "hair" and "waist" were pretty telling about how turians view humans. Turian males view turian females head fringe and waists as areas of visual stimuli. There's no real analog for a human, male or female, for the head fringe, if anything shorter hair would be more desirable than long hair, longer hair would simply be an odd human-specific trait. And the waist? Well, male humans have "supportive" waists too.

I imagine for hairless species, the idea of hair might be kind of gross. I mean, thousands and thousands of keratin filaments, all clumped together willy-nilly? They collect dead skin cells and other skin secretions like sweat and sebum? And they grow in seemingly random patches on the human body? Yuck. If I was an alien, human hair would be a huge turnoff. Heck, even we humans don't seem to like it much, as evidenced by the fact that we women are pretty much expected to remove every bit of hair on our bodies from the neck down. Even men are more into "manscaping" these days.
