Very slim? They didn't bother to do totally separate scenes with any of their bi LIs in the past, I don't see them randomly picking Ash to have totally separate o/s and s/s romance paths

It's a bit weird. He did checked Cortez's gay romance though, so maybe he checked Kaidan's and though it automatically meant Ash is bi too?  In any case, it's rather definitive that Ash is not available for s/s romance, regardless if Kaidan is or not

Given Diana's amazing ability to impale her torso with her own arm, I imagine the build he was playing had some WIP wonkiness that may have confused him further.

Everything new about this game I hear is super disappointing. At least all the things I personally wanted from it aren't there. Even more insult to injury that Kaiden is probably available and not Ashley. Such a bummer.

Really bummed for Ashley fans, although it's great that the Kaidan evidence is strong. It's strange she's not bi, duh. The VS have shared lines and roles in the plot since the end of the first game.

It's unbalanced no matter what. Even with Vega (who ironically enough, based on info, is Samaras balance rather then Liaras), it's unbalanced.

I think in one of the spoiler forums someone said that Shepard can have a Samara-esque thing with James if she's a lady, but not if he's a dude. I don't know if this came from the Russian TLK files or what. My mind could have invented it.

Maybe it was one of the motivations? To avoid making them similar to each other even more?

Well, at most she gets the equivalent that the ME2 (besides Tali and Garrus) romances get. Which is not much.

I put a strike through on her name because her romance in ME2 is commonly regarded as a fling or otherwise not on the same level as the main flirtations.

It's possible.
But given that he's a new character, I'm going to guess that he's probably available to both.

I wouldn't call Thane a dead-end.  His romance seems to have a pretty satisfying conclusion.
