I wanted to go dark from the forums sometime last week but I stayed around to confirm all the LIs. If this information is absolutely correct then it'd be time for me to go dark. I suppose I'll wait another day or 2, just to make sure... this place being a roller coaster and all.

Not in 1 million years would bw make 1 VS bi and not the other; so if Ash is def not S/S then Kaidan will most certainly be femshep exclusive and all the "proof" we have of him is just wishful thinking and just us rationalizing the info we have (few and fewer) as proof.

At this point I just want to know why.
If this is true (I still hope we're missing something) then why is THIS, of all places, where they choose to make them not interchangeable in the plot.
Maybe I'm over-reacting, but you know what? I was really looking forward to this game. I knew nothing was confirmed but I was okay with that and I accepted that maybe we won't get the VS. Then things leaked all over about the plot and I wasn't happy but I got over it and I thought "It's OK, the game will still be fun. And hey, it's all but confirmed that the VS is s/s so at least I'll have that."
And then, to add insult to injury, Kaiden is essentially confirmed and Ashley is out.
Maybe I'll be over it in a few days (I'm sure I'll be mostly ok by launch). Maybe something else will leak that gives us back Ashley. But right now? I don't want to play this game.

That's what I don't get either. Why bother to record to lines, create the sex scenes, implement them into a close to final build, just to dump them at the last minute? Sounds like a lot of wasted resources.makenzieshepard wrote...

I think I'm having a hard time accepting it because I know a lot of people who would be really disappointed and because Ash and Kaidan have always been so interchangeable when it comes to their most of their story roles that it's hard for me to mentally separate the two of them for something like this. I guess if they were gonna do something different with one of them, the third game was the place to do it, but damn what a messed up thing it is.

The tlk files don't work that way. It's one big file with all of the dialog in it.
And we have voice files for the male Shepard/Kaidan romance. None for female Shepard/Ashley.
I guess it's possible somehow that people just can't find the files or whatever, but I wouldn't count on it.

This isn't likely because they have a different voice recording system. What they did in ME1 was due to an outdated system using paper.Red by Full Metal Jacket wrote...

IF these voice files are true - it's not 100% confirmation of Kaiden, but it would be for Ashley IF those lines were absent for her. (And it appears that they are, though I still only have Collider's word for it, despite his claims otherwise.)
(I'm chuffed for you Kaiden-philes, but I personally don't care about him (Kaiden), he could DIAF as far as I'm concerned (oh wait, he did!), and the idea that he could be Bi while Ashley wasn't infuriates me to no end... (and that sentence came out far more awkwardly than I would usually write things, but I'm way too emotional about all this right now to care about grammar... Guess I need to go take a walk or punch a wall or something.))
