I extracted the audio files - Ashley is not S/S. FemShep has little to no dialogue options with her, while MShep has tons of dialogue. Oh well.

Sounds like what they did with male Shepard and Kaidan in ME1.

It's important to point out that the development team can't do a thing if some executive (or even a higher up person in the team) gets nervous about s/s content and either waters it down or orders its removal.

Blaming 'the devs' as a whole isn't very productive. Many of the individual writers are huge advocates for lgbt rights.

(That doesn't excuse the stupid 'herp derp HAWT LESBIANS but fade Steve to black' thing, if indeed that has happened)

Then how did the DA:O have the same sex scene reguardless of the characters genders fly past these "nameless, faceless, coperate big wigs"?

I genuinely feel for the Ash fans. :(

While I'm not inviting you to 'do a Klace', any chance we could get some information on the mShep/Kaidan lines?

Or even confirmation that they're there?

This is Uncertainty Thursday, after all.

Extraction process is slow and listening to the files is even slower, so give me some time - I will. But shouldn't we head to the FFTL spoiler group, it's kind of risky doing it here?

So you're saying the ME fanbase is more anti-homosexual than the DA fanbase. And BW attitude in ME towards homosexuality merely reflects that.

Btw, Samantha has a really pleasant british accent

Extracted the audio files with what & from what? It can't be the game, because if you had it, then you wouldn't need to extract audio files, you could just play it and see. So it must be the demo, which is not complete at all.

It doesn't make sense that Ashley has little to no dialogue options with FemShep. Even if she's not an s/s, she's still a squadmate and a potential friend.

Also UK have TV shows starring Russell Tovey and John Borrowman who, I think, are very good role models for young gay people.

And Australia has Molly Meldrum as a gay role model. And if you heard even a fraction of the stories that are about him, you wouldn't exactly call him a "good" role model.
Every nation has their "target" gay celebrities. This is why I mentioned Russ and John but passed US stars like Zachary Quinto (who came out just to support young gay people).

For most straight people gays are flamboyant, feminine and sex obsessed freaks. What people do under the name gay parade somehow supporting their belief (I even disturbed with nearly naked guys wandering in those parades and giving more disturbing poses whenever they see a camera). I don't like it (same applies for straight peoples who does similar things mind you). To me being a gay has little to do with sex. Human males can have sex with nearly everything. Being a gay means being able to fall in love with another man. Gay people aren't ****ty sex offenders they are just people living normal lives who wants to be accepted and left alone. Being a gay is not what you are, just part of who you are. If some celebrities known for their jobs more than being "gay star" that means we, as LGBT people, taking great steps towards better future.

Anyway enough off topicness and my antiques. Carry on with Kaidan and Ash.

Yep, that's safer.

The main FftL Spoiler group has more members than the Kaidan one, I think.

ME attracts a significant shooter demographic. Having played shooters plently, I can see the concern. It's pretty common to get called "gay" as an insult over xbox live, and though its not true for every player, thirteen year olds arr the loudest ones.

Not necessarily.

For all we know, Mass Effect's fanbase *love* the gays, and Bioware were freaking out over nothing by putting the options in there. But the general view - correct or not - is that shooter fans have different reactions to, say, those of high fantasy.

It has more to do with perceptions than reality. I'm not an EA executive, and I don't have a budget of several tens of millions of dollars to juggle on videogame development. I can't say that I understand why they do what they do.

But I'd argue that what these executives think their audience like would have a bearing on what they allow in the games.

@Asperius

Molly Meldrum is well known for his drunkeness and behaviour while drunk. Going through life drunk and constantly humuliating yourself because you're a drunkard is not a "good" role model. Yeah it's fantastic that he is one of the first (if not the first) openly homosexual TV personality in Australia and yeah and the fact that he is in a long-term relationship sets a good example (from a distance). But simply putting it out there that your gay does not mean you are a good role model.

They shouldn't be worried about what 13 year olds think of ME, because they shouldn't have it, MA15+.

Okay I dislike the face that the RPG I want to play is getting content restricted because of a FPS player who has the mentallity of a 13 year old, ticks me off.

Can't wait for games to have neural interfaces. Computerised voice; "I'm sorry but your neural pathways indicate you are not mature enough for this game's content, this game has been locked."

I meant it more in the sense that they warp people's perception of every other shooter fan. I love Halo, but you won't remember me when you play a live match. You remember that kid screaming obscenities, and it can start to look like every shooter fan is a high strung homophobe/racist.

(Thanks to brain_damage)

Kaidan is for all intents and purposes, essentially, practically and basically (can I think of any other adverbs?!) confirmed for s/s in ME3.

Check the FftL spoiler group for awesomeness.

Since this is uncertainty day, I'm going to say that certain absence of certain dialog casts some doubt on Kaidan being M/M. There appears to be some important lines missing.

I hadn't seen Cortez properly before, interesting.

Also, this game is leaking like a SEIVE.
