That's a legitimate concern, because I do like the sexy stuff, I like Kelly and Liara and I'll probably like the shower scene.  But that's not the same as not liking the implications, it just one area where I though the flavor of the scene might play differently or it might not.  Unfortunately lesbian depictions tend to fall into two areas overly sexualized for the male gaze and no sexulization at all (lesbian moms etc).  Some middle ground might be nice!  And maybe we will get it in this Samantha romance as I've said my info is second hand on it.

The male gaze permeates and defines how in a certain context f/f sex is depicted.  Sure there absolutely is sexual agency given to women for women to enjoy (in the context of s/s), but this agency also possesses a certain duality that underneath the very core, is uncomfortable and misogynistic.  People also don't want their agency stripped away,  particularly when that power is stripped from the marginalized group and shared with the dominant one in false sense of equality.  But that's neither here not there, I just wanted to explain why I think it's offensive and while I'm always excited to see women have the same sexual agency (whether they be lesbian/bi/trans/pansexual) that is afforded to straight men.  I say straight purposefully because that agency in popular culture is definitely not given to gay/bi/tran/pansexual men (just see the watered down scene between Steve and Shepard for proof) and it is not often given to straight women either.

But that is neither here nor there.

If my Shepard can't have  mutiple conversations with Ashley as a friend and sister, then I'm going to be very upset.  There's more to connecting with people than just romance.  

I am really happy for m/m Shepard.  The option should have been there long ago and I wish there more options for you guys.  It's just not fair.

See, I saw that convo back when the script first leaked. I thought it was hilarious.

Never did I imagine that would be the ONLY ****ing dialogue I got to have with Ashley.

Now I'm even more annoyed.

Sigh. So a friendship path with Ash might not even exist? Hooray, it's going to be like ME2 all over again isn't it, where we're locked out of further character development because we aren't romancing someone? Oh BW, why are you trying to frustrate me so much? I could always fall back on a friendship path that is written nicely. In DAO I was very satisfied with having Leliana as my s/s option, but Morrigan's friendship path I felt was very nicely done and still allowed me to feel close to her come Witch Hunt. In ME2 I wanted a friendship path for Jack to exist to further help her with her hangups but no, only MaleSheps that romanced her could do that. Ash gets a lot of flak and I can understand the reasoning behind it but she still is one of my favorite characters from the series.

I can handle not getting her for a relationship despite how much that bums me out, but the fact that a friendship path might be lacklustre too?

I second this question.  Though I don't know what would make me angrier no friendship paths at all or only Ash missing out!

Also this.  That was one of the things I didn't like about ME2.  The halting dialogue if you didn't romance them.  Gah.  There should have have been an alternative path because friendship is important, damn it!

My mShep has it worse. His BFF Miri had like 2 dialogues max for him in ME2 and now she's not even a squadmate in ME3...

I don't think there's no friendship or friendship path. All of the dialog leading up to recruitment is a test of friendship, I would say.
But you don't get very many conversations. I think the highest amount a squad mate was said to have was 4.

Surely Ash can't be set aside that much, we must be missing something. Making the two VS different dosen't mean making one take more place and get Bi while practically erasing the other aside from where she's needed it the plot, and Bioware must know that. Or if they don't, *facepalm*.

Edit : 4 ?!? What the hell. So we are getting half the squadmates we had in ME 2 but not more conversations ? What exactly in this game will better than in the other I wonder. Same combat, same character depth, pretty much same graphics, same everything ! Save me Kaidan . Asking for more romance dosen't mean we are smut addicted ****s who don't care about anything else. It's just about choice and custumization of our Shepard, not sex.

I saw the initiating romance scene and most of the culmination, kinda got skippy towards the aftermath bit for fear or spoilers.
