I would agree, if it wasn't for the fact that Kaidan calls Shep handsome and that one Space Edition player (who took shirtless Kaidan pic) already unlocked Paramour Achievement for romancing Kaidan as ManShep

It's not just the handsome line. The entire conversation is very blatantly a mShep/Kaidan romance. Plus the whole "have you ever known me to be with anyone" and "it does feel right, after all this time" lines. Although, yeah, I guess one could argue Meer is reading Hale's lines again, but such a method is obsolete now.

Also of note is the lack of equivalent femShep dialogue BUT I have no idea who mined this and if it was set up that way on purpose.

While we're in uncertainty mode, I gotta say--I'm beginning to think that some stuff was blocked outta the Space Edition games, or wateva. Because BW knew it would get datamined. They knew this.

Kaidan is Bi, but Ash isn't?

The friendship paths are that lame? When BW went on and on abt. this improvement?

Enough for me. It's a clear and completly open exhibition on BioWare's part of the fact these are two guys romancing each other, not 2 guys with dialogues that could've been used on FemShep. Not to mention the entire scene is almost for sure exclusive to mShep

I can't remember what thread I was in, but one had a link with a writer who basically said that Bioware tries to write relationships and romances with as much room for head canon as possible. Far from being "easy" or the "lazy way out" that a lot of critics accuse DA2 of being, it sould incredibly difficult the more I think about it. That's why "gay mods" and, I assume "straight mods" for Sam and Steve, will appear to be nearly perfect fits.

All that's needed for a good Bioware romance is some catchy way for a LI to tell Shepard s/he likes/loves him and a love scene that doesn't produce facepalms.

Is Ashley looking for love or a good time? Is Merrill a virgin, or just merely shy when romancing a lover from another species? Is Miranda really attracted to Shepard, or merely feeding her ego by seducing great hero Shepard? Is Morrigan merely playing the Warden for a sucker or looking for redemption? Depending on the player, any of those situations can be true.

Someone would have to be really determined to troll s/s fans. Considering how many different "renew/start romance" alternate lines Hale already reads, it's rather clear to me. And frankly, even if there was a FemShep equivalent of that dialogue, the fact remains that they would never write Kaidan to call FemShep handsome lol. That word really makes it all highly definitive.

But even if such line "someone strong... beautiful" exists (very unlikely considering ti ain't in the finished game) it doesn't change the fact the handsome line exist.

Egg on my face on Tuesday if it turns out not to be true, but at this point I'm personally just sure he is available for gay romance, with all evidence I've read/heard.

There are a coulpe of regulars who say they don't want to read spoilers, yet keep asking those who've mined the spoilers to keep posting information on the thread. The aura of joy, rage, desperation, and uncertainty would be familiar to regulars of THIS thread. The only "certain" ones are those who were hoping for a lesbian Miranda.

I can't wait for the Sheploo/Sam mods...seeing all the awkward clipping during the shower scene and him speaking with Hale's voice...it will be great.

No more awkward than some of the ME2 scenes, including the clipping. Jack's especially.

As for the shower scene, the "beast with two backs" would become literal, I imagine.

True that, I guess I was thinking more of the fact that they might still be the same scenes with minor adjustments and not something unique to manShep. Which is where my concern lies, really, not in whether Kaidan is bi, as the files for that are there. And to the "considering it ain't in the finished game" - that was my point. Who's to say whoever uploaded it didn't simply leave out the rest of the femShep files?

I just thought you guys would get a kick out of this. I was playing around on http://uk.akinator.com/ and I was trying to think of Carth, and it guessed Kaidan.

I found it amusing.

....this is addictive. It guessed correctly on: Kaidan, Liara, Isabela, Tara from Buffy, Taylor Hanson, Road Dogg, Jane Rizzoli and when I tried to confuse it with Korean pop music, it guessed that correctly too (G Dragon). I beat it in the end, it isn't familiar with Japanese all female theatre

Point of notice: there is a confirmed day 1 patch that is required to play the game. While there's a 99.9% chance it's just bug fixes and/or multiplayer crap, there's always the .1% chance they intentionally locked out bits of the game to troll pirates.

Again, long shot of all long shots and I'm not hopeful (I'm resigned about the game at this point), but who knows?
