Why do you need to name call and rub it in?  I doubt the guys would be quiet about their complains if Ashley was SS and Kaiden wasn't even if they had Cortez and Vega (for instance)

It just seems like they're trying to push Liara on us as the F/F relationship even those she's not techincally a female. And the rest of those f/f romances aren't full-fledged ones, just flings or NPCs so to me there's actually no F/F romances at all with squadmates.

I'm not a straight male, but the fact is, there's nothing wrong with this.  Most players are straight males, why shouldn't they spend the most resources on them?  I'm happy with Kaidan, but I was happy before when we all swore it was just Cortez.  It was enough for me to be able to make my Shepard gay.

Right up until someone from Bioware mentions Ashley's Christianity or we see it in-game, she can't be called Christian.

That's definitely true, and I'm very glad you guys finally did get some options.  The issue for me is more about quality than quantity.  I would prefer one f/f option with a character I'd gotten to know and shared history with throughout the entire series than a few f/f options that are mostly flings or with completely new characters.

We have Liara I suppose, but I wouldn't classify that as a f/f relationship.  She looks and sounds female, but she doesn't really identify that way, which is I think what really matters.  If a woman dates someone trans or genderqueer, it isn't necessarily a lesbian relationship just because the other person looks female--they have to identify as such.  So I tend not to count Liara as f/f.

I'm still holding out for Ashley, even though I'm 99% sure there's nothing there.  *crosses fingers*

It's just confusing as hell..... Kaidan and Ashley are both VS (and the way Ash is looking at femshep screams gay. She looks maleshep the same way). Why not making Ashley bi instead of, let's say, Diana Allers? We didn't asked for more f/f random options, we asked for Ashley Williams.

Anyway i'm not going to scream and kill someone for this, i still have Liara.

I didn't say there was anything wrong with it.

Though, using that logic, you could say they should add in more f/f options than they already have since straight males apparently like them and are the majority.

As far as I know, the demand for F/F with preexisting characters was roughly split between Ashley, Tali, and Jack.

Kaidan and Ashley don't have to be the same in every way, either. It's good that they're doing something to differentiate them.

That's why I've never complained that there are more f/f options than m/m.  I did grumble when there were NO m/m options, but I'm happy with one. 

And as much as we like to think of Kaidan and Ashley as interchangeable, they're really not.  They're completely different people with completely different personalities.  And as someone has pointed out before, without Kaidan as an m/m option, there is no opportunity for gay male players to have a trilogy-spanning romance arc.  Female Shepards have Liara, and nobody actually buys the whole "not a woman" thing.

Yeah, I know, but I want to know by how much.

From what I can tell, Straight Male Shep gets 7 romances total (and one fling). Plus Kaidan and Steve, Bi Male Shep gets 9 (and one fling), and Gay Shep gets 2.

Straight Femshep gets 4. Bi Femshep gets 8 (and one fling) if you include Sam and Diana. And Lesbian Shep gets 4 (and one fling).

Any options I'm missing?

It's clear that Vega feels nervous around female Shepard if she flirts but nothing ever arises.

The information about Ashley seems especially bizarre since I just played the Demo, and everything in the Demo strongly suggested her as the main LI for FemShep. From the character creator screen where you choose between Ashley and Kaiden and it talks about the 'bond' you have formed, to the time when you're reunited and Ashley looks at Shepard with such desire, its all extremely strongly implied that she is an LI, why on earth wouldn't she be one? Given that it takes more time and effort for them to make any given LI 'not' available to both Shepards than it takes to make them available to both, they must have had a reason to make that extra effort to prevent us FemShep players from romancing Ashley, but I certainly don't know what that is. Especially strange given how strongly they imply that you can. Its definitely disappointing.

As sad as I am about Ashley at this point I'm more insterested in what IS in the game. Any word on her friendship dialogue? Or perhaps some Sam? I need some cheery f/f news
