Please, nobody is "hating" here. We're just trying to mitigate some of the "Bioware is sexist" nonsense. I'm disappointed on behalf of everyone that wanted Ashley as f/f just like I'm disappointed on behalf of the people who wanted to stay with Jacob or romance Shiala. It's just not something that was included, unfortunately, but they couldn't include everything that everyone wanted.
We're referring to the poster who said the ''You gals sure are a whiny bunch''. That was very uncalled for.

Can anyone confirm if the following Steve/Shep dialogue is in the .tlk?
Cut until I can figure out how to color correctly.
More or less might confirm whether or not Steve gets two sex scenes.
I couldn't find it. I tried a few different lines, too.

Hey, some of the Ashley/FemShep fans are guys, like ADLegend, and being sad about it is natural. As someone else pointed out, I would not begrudge Kaidan/MaleShep fans for being unhappy that Vega was an m/m option, but not Kaidan.
For me, personality matters most, if I'm going to bother playing out a romance in a game. I "get" Ashley, probably more than any of the romance options, but I was extremely pessimistic about my chances of getting her as a f/f LI, because most of the time in past Bioware games, if I liked a female character, she was out of reach. I finally allowed myself to hope for Ashley, and it would have been nice to not have people rub it in that I can't get her, even when I suspected that all along.
I knew that it would take *good* writing to make a f/f Ashley romance work. That was part of the appeal. Anyone can get Kelly to dance for them, but Ashley is a character I would have been happy to work to get to know better.

Yeah. I see that the jackasses who may or may not be homophobes running around the BSN doing the "nyah nyah nyah" crap to Ashley s/s fans now that the word is out so there is no call to belittle them in this thread even if it is only in jest.

So now it's time to call Ashley/FemShep fans greedy, for wanting a character who is definitely not interchangeable with any of the other f/f options (and many of us would gladly trade away Kelly, Diana and Samantha for her)???
I expected the haters in the Ashley thread, but here too? Sigh.
It's hating to express disappointment at the over the top reactions some people are having, saying that BW would not "let a female character be equal to their male character", and then complaining about how "unfair" this is, while ignoring Lesbian FemShep still has more options than Gay Sheploo?
Ok then.

No mercy for them, not after "jokingly" suggesting some s/s Ashley supporters should die/be killled. Sometimes groups aren't as secret as some people like to think!

So you're going to ignore someone calling female Ashley fans "a whiny bunch" because it doesn't fit your agenda of shooting down what I have to say? Okay then.

Personally, I feel that the "whiny bunch" comment was way out of line. I also felt the "Bioware would never allow a female character to be equal to a male character" was way out of line.syllogi wrote...

more flings yes, but that's not the point. People have been pining for Femshep/Ash since 2007, same with Kaidan, but only Kaidan gets the S/S Path while Ashley remains O/S. Most are upset that THIS is how they're made seperate isntead of other ways that make them both available to both Shepard's.Zjarcal wrote...

I'm tired of people on the internet being completely unable to empathize with others, in the slightest way, even when it costs them nothing. Go ahead and call me what you want, I'm out.

I never said it wasn't natural, hell I've been saying the same things you are. "We" weren't rubbing it in your guys' faces, it was just one person. That's the only thing I'm talking about, accusing the "FTL thread" of gloating when the majority was being supportive and saying they feel bad about it is just not fair.
Also, I agree with Zjarcal about the "unfairness" thing.

Now that we kinda/sorta know about new romances. Perhaps we can talk about who (whom? I always screw up that rule XD) our Shepards will romance and why?
What makes your Shepard compatible with the new announced romances or if they're staying with old, why also?
Side Note: Don't want to offend or dismiss anyone's feelings because I totally empathize. I promise I'm not trying to be dismissive, just want to bring more peace back to the thread. (I'm disappointed in no Ashley either, but in truth I really wanted my FemShep to Romance Miranda or Kasumi although I know the latter was never a realistic choice because she's DLC...still... T_T)

But, outside of video games, I think homosexuals need to realize that not everyone is a homosexual, and hence, cannot see what they see. It's like trying to hit on your straight friend in hopes that she will fall for you and become attracted to you (a girl) romantically.

You know what, whatever. I have rarely talked about what I would want in this thread, because it felt selfish when m/m fans had zero options. I wouldn't have even spoken up about my disappointment now, but the bashing is ridiculous.

It's not everyone in the thread. I'm sure MOST people viewing this discussion are pretty sympathetic about Ashley being s/s unavailable. She's a fantastically written character and your disappointment is totally understandable.
