I highly doubt it was removed because of the number of dislikes and more so because they leaked something that Bioware has been adamant about not spoiling.

Not only did they "leak" something, they showed basically the entire romance in full... I'm glad they took it down, honestly. Let the hackers and internet trolls do that, reputable gaming websites shouldn't.

Bioware's spoiler-killing efforts aren't exactly methodical, I think. 

Cortez was noticable enough to pop up on gaming media websites. I'm *sure* they have people monitoring them for articles and impressions. 

By contrast, nobody could wade through every internet forum that's teeming with spoilers. I'm sure they'll take down what they can, but the marketing team would be far more focused on the official stuff before the game's release. 

At least, in my opinion.

I agree that there are specific traits shown in game for these characters but there are many left up to the imagination.  Sexuality typically fits into that category.

TBH, I can still believe Ashley is a full on lesbian in my FemShep headcanon if I wish...unless there's something that happens in ME3 that contradicts that.

Something about there just being hardly any dialogue with Ashley full stop makes me a little concerned/suspicious. I mean, isn't she the most frequently saved character on Virmire by a significant margin? Doesn't make sense to me that she'd have far, far less interaction than Kaidan does.

Either not all the Ash dialogue is in the game yet (please please please please please),or they've decided to just make her an eye-candy wall flower. Which seems... odd. I'd like to think I have more faith in their writers than that.

At least there seems to be an actual friendship line then, which is good. I can fill in the rest in my head till the mod.

If the funding thing doesn't work out, we could always, like, put together bits and pieces of Hale's line from other media. I mean, FemShep might end up sounding 1/4 Bastila Shan, 1/4 Naomi Hunter, and 1/4 Cinderella, and 1/4 Jean Grey, but IT COULD WORK!

We can even throw in some Deionarra for good measure! ( / for those having played PST...)

(Some days, I really miss the DA writing team. This is one of those days, apparently. Hell, even ToR has a substantial/equivilant amount of dialogue with characters you don't romance, and companions in that are a fairly minimal part of the overall game.)

I will say that having only played ME1 (I'm a very slow and "Gotta do this and get all the minerals and explore everything" type of gamer) there were times when the dialogue option was sort of misleading to me at least in general. So for those that are heterosexual and are concerned about accidentally starting a s/s LI, I get it. Because I even accidentally flirted with Ashley as mshep!

Perhaps they figured that the amount of femSheps who saved Ashley was even smaller than the amount of maleSheps who saved Kaidan, and a friendship path would be redundant.

But that seems really, really strange.

If the friendship lines are there for maleShep, why wouldn't they be there for femShep as well?

I couldn't agree with you more on this. It amuses me because in both DAO and DA2 the friendship paths were written in a way that still let me feel so connected to the party members even if I didn't/couldn't  romance them (Aveline in 2 and while I didn't quite feel connected to her on a friendship level as she was an "enemy", Ser Cauthrien in DAO ). I'm not going to deny the fact that I'm still bummed about Ash but even if her friendship path you know, existed I'd get over it and probably just headcanon something as I have since ME1. The ME team just seem set to frustrate me no matter what regarding this though. I think it's just gotten to the point where my cynical sense of humor takes over regarding the game.

Agree on both of those things. If Ashley really doesn't have a friendship path with femShep I think it's a bit disappointing, and confusing.

This. Especially considering (as was previosly mentioned) she seems to be alive in so many more games than Kaiden.

There's someone with the Prima guide now who actually had legit pictures to back it up. I sent him a PM so hopefully we can at least find out what the guides says about LIs (I'm pretty much assuming the first guy claiming to have the guide was full of crap).

I'm not going to be one of those "ffs boycott omg" types, but it's creeping steadily towards the "pick it up a couple of months down the line for a bit cheaper" zone. So, uh, yeah. Meh.
