Why is it not next Friday yet *throws tantrum*

Also, I'm starting to wonder, do you reckon we might hit 1000 pages on this thread before the official release date? This Thread moves so fast!

You US types who get the game three days before I do can feel free to let me know how accurate it turns out to be, anyway.

I shall do that.

There's someone with the Prima guide now who actually had legit pictures to back it up. I sent him a PM so hopefully we can at least find out what the guides says about LIs (I'm pretty much assuming the first guy claiming to have the guide was full of crap).

Hopefully he has some good news.

Actually I didn't, thought about it, but so many files to sort though, it'd take ages just to single out all the fem shep ones to delete, let alone order and delete the rest for a flowing convo. Too daunting, maybe after the game is out though.

@Eternal: Who are you refering too? Are Kaidan/Mshep fans mean for being more in number and more vocal or defending the points "trolls" have repeatedly brought up over "retconning"?

I don't think there is hardly any friendship dialog with her.

Not only she's not a s/s option, she's also ''not friendly'' towards femshep. WTF BW.:?

Are you saying she's gonna be a jerk to my FemShep?

They're saying that a person who refers to Shepard on Horizon as "more than our commander" and is visible hurt by the fact she didn't get in contact with her for two years is going to spend the majority of the game ignoring a female Shepard, because... uh... I have no idea and it makes no sense.

It's not that there's dialogue but Ashley is rude. It's that there's apparently just hardly any dialogue at all.

Wow, this is just terrible. I wonder if they started her as being a S/S, but then cut it out. Maybe that's why there is much less dialogue, because the rest was suppose to be for the romance?

I hope the negative response to M!Shep and Cortez video doesn't put BW off doing exclusive s/s LI's in future games. Was kind of hoping the Dragon Age team would do that next.

I agree. And whatever game they make that has LIs in the future, it'd be better to include s/s relationships from the beginning rather than having to wait three games for it to even be acknowledged XD

Well, according to Chris Priestly, no romances were cut. If it wasn't in the game, then it was never there at all. I don't really know what to believe right now. It's either that the romance was cut, thus taking a chunk of the conversations away or they blatanly lied about friendship paths.

You'd think they'd remember to put it back/replace the cut stuff with something equivilant. And from what I hear, manshep has a pretty expansive friendship path with Ashley too. More than basically nothing, anyway.

Though, of course, "what I hear" and "what is actually true" aren't necessarily the same thing.

I'm sort of hoping there's just a chunk of stuff missing from the preloaded files, myself. Because urgh.

I don't see Ash not being romanceable by FemShep as a bad thing and more importantly: it's something I can believe BW would pull. But what could possibly be the reason for cutting a friendship path? That's the thing that makes no sense to me...
I admit I have no idea how these things work but is it possible that FemShep/Ashley dialogue is just hidden very well and thus just hasn't been found yet?

Add one more to the count of "Dammit Bioware, y u no let femShep romance Ashley?" :pinched:

This is what boggles my mind. After all, Ash wasn't a vanilla femShep romance in ME, but she and femShep became great friends, and in the process Ash went from my most hated character to my favourite character. She and femShep still flirt shamelessly despite not having a romance option (until you learn to get creative with console commands...) In ME2 she has a massive emotional response to seeing Shepard again on Horizon.

Now in ME3, it's "come back as a guy or GTFO"? What happened to the "deep bond" forged by the loss of Alenko mentioned in the ME3 demo choices screen? What happened to the better friendship paths that fans were promised after the discontent with ME2's "romance or nothing" character conversations?

I could live without a s/s romance if the option to be a good friend was still there, but this... If nothing else, there's potential for RPing some truly great headcanon with my femShep that fancies Ashley. Saves the galaxy multiple times and still can't get the girl!

On a more positive note, I'm thrilled that the guys finally get their s/s options! :o It was massively unfair to leave all of you out in the cold for so long. I hope that the Cortez and Kaidan romances live up your expectations, with the usual amount of cheese required in a BW romance ofc!

The trick for a good Bioware game is to get US help in the development of EVERY characters' story, not jus the PC. The fact that so many s/s critics seem to argue sexuality as the ONLY character trait that MUST be set in stone (and based on some arficial quota system based on demographics) seems so silly to me.

Far from being easy, or lazy, Bioware's character writing in a style that encourages the development of head canons seems incredible difficult and worthy of respect, even when it fails.

I've never heard it put like that in the aspect where, beyond shaping the PC, players can shape those around them. though I do have a question: how would it work. Or at least how would YOU do it.

All that comes to mind is a means of having a larger of aray of conversations with them, with a larger range of replies, which based on them will shape the NPC to some extent or another (within reason of their backstories, which will  have stablished  a set personality for them - can't make them Elder Scrolls robots - )

They aren't robots like Fable or Skyrim, but you can shape them. Garrus can be a hero or a vigilante. Merrill can be a broken submissive lover or a cheerful flower child. The best analogy I can make are Lego sets. There may be specific pieces molded for each character, but the player still has to option to put them together in ways the writers may have never imagined.

Also, the Talimance. Her sexual relationship violates established game lore as far as my head canon goes, but it is NOT a problem. Why? I don't HAVE to romance her. I don't romance her so I still have my brave-yet-fragile little sister while a Talimancer has his happy xenosexual romance. Because Bioware didn't cave into Retcon whiners I and the Talimaners both got the character we wanted (unless you wanted her to be a lesbian).

I have the same files in my folder.

Though, the two sets might be variations depending on whether or not you imported an active romance with them or started a new one.

I think there is a saying - there is nothing worst than woman's rage (or something like that). Maybe Ash is just pissed off at FemShep Posted Image... Another explanation might be that BW team are all gay, so they have made Kaidan gay, but not  Ash Posted Image...
Please note the smileys, I'm just a bit sarcastic by nature... Seriously, I think its a shame that Ash is not available for FemShep. It is more then plausible that after so much happend between them, something more then just friendship can develop. M.

That's what I'm hoping.  Given all they've said about how much work they've done on dialogue, it seems wrong that they'd leave out a satisfying friendship path with someone as important as Ashley.  Either they're lying about how much work they've done, which I find very, very hard to believe, or we're missing something.

I'm not optimistic, and I certainly don't want to get anyone's hopes up--it's been way too much of a rollercoaster ride as is--, but given how we're blindly scanning through files, I'd put more faith in what we find being there (m/m Kaidan romance) than what we don't find being left out (f/f Ashley romance).  So until someone with the actual guide takes a picture and says, "sorry, look, it's just not in there," I'm holding out for Ash.
