Add one more to the count of "Dammit Bioware, y u no let femShep romance Ashley?"

They're saying that a person who refers to Shepard on Horizon as "more than our commander" and is visibly hurt by the fact she didn't get in contact with her for two years is going to spend the majority of the game ignoring a female Shepard, because... uh... I have no idea and it makes no sense.
It's not that there's dialogue but Ashley is rude. It's that there's apparently just hardly any dialogue at all.
This is what boggles my mind. After all, Ash wasn't a vanilla femShep romance in ME, but she and femShep became great friends, and in the process Ash went from my most hated character to my favourite character. She and femShep still flirt shamelessly despite not having a romance option (until you learn to get creative with console commands...) In ME2 she has a massive emotional response to seeing Shepard again on Horizon.
Now in ME3, it's "come back as a guy or GTFO"? What happened to the "deep bond" forged by the loss of Alenko mentioned in the ME3 demo choices screen? What happened to the better friendship paths that fans were promised after the discontent with ME2's "romance or nothing" character conversations?
I could live without a s/s romance if the option to be a good friend was still there, but this... If nothing else, there's potential for RPing some truly great headcanon with my femShep that fancies Ashley. Saves the galaxy multiple times and still can't get the girl!
On a more positive note, I'm thrilled that the guys finally get their s/s options!

It was massively unfair to leave all of you out in the cold for so long. I hope that the Cortez and Kaidan romances live up your expectations, with the usual amount of cheese required in a BW romance ofc!
