Exactly. They shouldn't be the same in my opinion. Sure some things are the same, or similar, but I don't think you'd interact with a man the same as a woman. Realistically, there would be more different then just calling a character he or she.

I don't think they should be different, as far as video game romances are concerned, considering how little content and interaction these romances carry.  The romances will become bogged down in differentiating genders and most likely will rely on stereotypes of how men act in relationships vs. women.  I'd rather the romances focus on the themes that surround the individual LIs character arc throughout the story.

Superficial differences are obviously needed ('he' vs. 'she', 'beautiful' vs. 'handsome').

Maybe you're right. You might run into a situation where one is better done then the other, because one version was the original intent when written, and the other is just an afterthough that's forced to be same sex, or opposite sex. You know, when a writer is force to turn it into something it wasn't.

You recruit Kaidan early on (at least to what I have read), but then you get seperated and may not even get reunited, the romance (at least the majority of it) happens after the seperation (at least that is my understanding of it).

Also notice the universal connection transgendered characters in Bioawre games have with prostitution.
As if all there is to being trans is sex.

The entertainment medias' depiction of ANY minority is painful and stupid, especially to those of us who are members of those groups, but it only gets better with PRACTICE. So long as it is a good faith effort on Bioware's part, I would actually be interested in seeing their attempts at making better transexual characters and use feedback to make them better as they go along. This would be similar to the feedback they get from women and the s/s community.

I believe Thane's Siha nickname would be one. I don't see any real stereotypes involved there.

Kaidan's conversation with male Shepard seems to be absent for female Shepard. There's one from ME3 itself that doesn't have any stereotypes.

Steve. Those are the new ones anyway that I know of.

Male has either Liara or Diana for a straight romance. Or Kaidan or Steve for bi/gay romance.

Female just has Kaidan for a straight romance. Or Sam or Liara for bi/gay romance.

As far as I know, at least.

Hmm luckily US players probably will pass us info about Kaidan's certainity.

Need to finish last two shep runs before 9th. Actually it was one but decided to make one last run for Miranda romance without dumping Ashley. However if someone confirms Ash is also S/S option I need to make one more playthrough.

Also learned that banging Jack (that renegade one) doesn't break any romance which I found really odd. Seems like ME has very weird sense of commitment. :/

Part of me is FLOORED that there isn't more out there on Sam, especially after the leak about a shower scene. Or maybe one of her playing chess.

I DO find it interesting that STEVE is the one who has been spoiled thoroughly and had tons of images and video leaks, and received so much rage. I mean, I thought a gay male LI wasn't going to be a problem for critics if he wasn't a *OMG* "retcon."

If you played ME2. Again, Femshep doesn't have another straight option if your playing ME3 Female Default, besides Kaidan.
