As far as the Ash/Vega thing goes...

For me it's more of a situation where my femshep would probably be happy for her if a little bit depressed, but as a player it would kinda be salting the wound (ie: YOU CAN'T ROMANCE EITHER OF THEM HAHA YOU HAVE TO WATCH THEM HOOK UP). If both (or even one) of them were romanceable, and they engaged in said relationship at a certain point if you hadn't romanced either of them then it would be a different story.

Also, I freely admit that it wouldn't bother me so unduely if the wound of Ash not being s/s wasn't so fresh. :P

I understand the s/s Ashley fans being upset, but what about the o/s female Shepards and gay Shepard who made the natural assumption for almost a year that Vega would be a LI, if not THE official "bi" or "gay" guy?

Wait so is the Ash/Vega thing confirmed? Or just speculation on the fans part. If it's true I'm throwing James out the nearest airlock once he makes a move on her. LOL

Unless there is something added the scene we don't know about, a Vega/Ashley romance is just something a player can, if s/he chooses to,  head canon. Or it could just be proof that military grunts in the future like partying with female fellow soldiers the same way guys do today. You know, women and gays can be your "bro," too.

I think we're just talking. Creating our own head-cannon as to why they're not romancable.

Was just listening to some music and my playlist had a couple of back to back songs that unfortunately describe my FemShep and Ashley

Be Be Your Love - Rachael Yamagata

So Close - Jon Mclaughlin

I know I'm a  big sap so I'm gonna go have a sad now :crying:

No, see, that's the equivalent of "friendzoning".
Note: The friend zone doesn't exist.

But... but... theres a venn diagram and everything

And everyone knows, graphs = science Posted Image

Nah, the "friend zone" was invented by rejected people to make themselves feel better about whoever they're in love with not finding them attractive at all. "I think of you as a great friend" = "Can't picture you naked all over me".

Seriously,
I've been listening to it over and over. And Nothing's Impossible kinda
fits too... never took a note of the lyrics before. Now I want to see
DM live again, and maybe not have a fever like the last time I had
tickets and everything.

Nothing's Impossible is sex scene material, I'm telling ya. And how about Down? Yeah, I'm just a little obsessed.

@Ric - you don't want to know.

And let's not ignore the oft forgotten s/s LI in ME3...

Posted Image

SHEPARD: So, Kelly, I just want to say... I really want you back on the Normandy.

KELLY: Really! Oh, Shepard! I am so happy!

SHEPARD: I... uh... need someone to... feed my fish.

KELLY: *Smirk.* Oh... Shepard! I do love it when you talk dirty!

SHEPARD: Uh, no! I mean really! I just got some new fish and I need someone to feed them. I was hoping I could ask Ashley to do it, but it's just not going to work. To be honest, even if she WAS a s/s LI, she'd probably kick my ass if asked her to.

Didn't you hear? It's all automatic these days.
And specifically invented for the purpose of kicking Kelly off the ship.

According to the super secret game guide I have access to, that situation activates a special loyalty mission where you revisit the Krogan arena and the competing LIs spar over Shepard.

And that giant... thing at the end of the last round?

That's not a Thresher Maw!

Can I just say thankyou for that image of a thresher maw, I wished it would forever remain (at least in my mind) as that creature that got cuddily with a reaper in the promo.

Yeah idk what to think about the Kelly->Samantha thing. I mean obviously the one person who most deeply drank of the Cerberus kool-aid wasn't going to be serving on an Alliance ship, but it is super-weird to sort of seamlessly replace the bisexual yeoman with the lesbian yeoman.

Thought this was an interesting article, based on what some people were talking about yesterday:

http://www.1up.com/n...m-mass-effect-2

I do find the disconnect between the writers and the art directors regarding the asari frustrating (Samara and Benezia are awesomely powerful and influential characters, BUT HEY BOOBS), and it'd make it a lot easier to believe their stated ambition of portraying a strong species of all-female diplomats and warriors if we weren't constantly bombarded by asari strippers.

Well, the Alliance WAS trying to think ahead. I mean, Kelly was BI, so a male captain could seduce her, but the Alliance forgot that Shepard as male isn't canon, just more common.

What's even sadder than subject of the article is how the fans' responses posted under it pretty much confirms the criticism of the writer.

You mean the writers who joke that the DA team is the estrogen brigade or some rot because they have 3 (now 4) female writers? Despite still being led by a MAN, despite having the only MAN who has written for every worthwhile thing BioWare has ever done, despite writing plots designed fully by a MAN and writing characters drawn entirely by a MAN?

Excuse me. I think I'm going to faint from all the progress and equality. If it weren't for that art team!

You may imagine now why some people suspect that F/F content was created more in a straight man context than a lesbian/bisexual woman context.

The art team didn't sneak those strippers in there without the writers' knowledge (or did they? twist!). Even if Samara's clothing were more sensible, thirty percent of the Asari would still be strippers widely desired by every kind of species, no matter how radically different their physiologies are. Because ladies are hot, I guess? No, it's like pheremones or some dumb thing. u can trust us

Anyway, 13 hours for Origin users if they live in Asia/use a proxy!
