I wonder if any PS3 users can get the "you've known me for a long time" line, but perhaps that's exclusive to people who imported their Shep straight from ME1. I like the handsome line much better, though.

However while Liara send me a mail, I get a late invitation to "date" from Kaidan by mouth. However thinking it now, he probably talking about another date as he said he sure that place have steak which Citadel Cafe doesn't have.
It's one of those things BioWare put into dialogue that we sadly never get to see. Like when he asks Shepard "why didn't you wake me?" with a sly grin.
Many crew mates have lines/convos out of cut scenes ones. I guess that one was one of those. After rescuing Cerberus scientists I found him in barracks (what that place called, really? Keep forgetting that. The one opposite side of the ladies' bathroom) and we had another cut scene convo about Cerberus and Shep and his feelings. That convo also starts with flirting which is sweet. Anyway he said "we should get out. I know a place which has steak" (not word to word, mind you) while I was leaving room. Either it was ongoing talk from that conversation or I poke him as usual... I love getting words out of him.

Is the "wake me up" thing part of a conversation, or is it also a bark?
I can't believe I was paying that little attention, but I guess it's to be expected from skipping side quests. :-)

I will probably know for certain if that line is part of conversation or not after starting my new run. I talk with interesting crew mates after each mission, a behavior I got from ME2. They either bark, have conversations or barking conversations.

But as before, I'm just sort of breezing around, trying to figure out who/how/what to do. I'm purposely skipping some content, because I don't want to spoil too much the "experience" of my usual obsessive play style.
But I'll be pleased to see nods to romance in some of the content between Paramour and the sexy-time scene; I was afraid there wasn't going to be any. Flying through the main path, I couldn't ever get him to say anything relevant, which is why I wondered where these exchanges were occurring.

We've heard people both with import Sheps and non-import Sheps getting the "have you ever known me to be with anyone?" line and "handsome" line, so it's not restricted based on importing ot not. Something must trigger which line gets active, we just need to find it outgoodventure wrote...
Guys I just unlocked Paramour with Kaidan last night. I'm SO happy.I woke up this morning asking myself if that actually happened so I reloaded the save to play it out again... yep, it happened! hahaha.
I ran into some differences though... he actually called me "handsome" in this date. In other scenes I've seen, he asks me "have you ever known me to be with anyone? Maybe I'm just patient... or choosy." In my playthrough, he never said that to me, instead saying he's looking for someone handsome and that he doesn't have to look far.

Either way I am the happiest gamer alive right now! The whole date scene dialogue was just really sweet. Sbarge's voice makes it all the better. I can't wait for how the rest of the romance will play out!
Ohh and I just spoke with Steve about his husband ;____________________; Poor guy! ;___; I'm SO romancing him on my second playthrough <333 He's amazing!

No. Asari reproduce by a fascinating little method called parthenogenesis. Parthenogenesis only required the genetic material of the mother (the egg cell) - there are no sperm or second gamete of any kind involved.
Please don't patronize me. I actually have master in biology and working currently on my PhD, thank you. Partenogenesis involves only single individual. Asari, to be able to reproduce, must have another partner. True, they do not mix their genetic material, but the "mother's" is reshuffled by the telapthic input of "father". So it is not true earth-like partenogenesis.
but also bear in mind we are talking about a fantasy species that doesn't actually exist.
Exactly. I've written somewhere before that I'm only extrapolating our biological concepts and expandin them arbitrarly to encompass an alien biology

I just unlocked Paramour with Kaidan and my dudeShep too, but it was so hard to say no to Cortez! I waited until after I had locked in the Kaidan romance, then went to talk to Cortez at Purgatory, and he gave him the "I'm eye candy too" line, which came out as "I'm hurt, how come you're not checking me out?" or something like that, and Cortez says "Who says I'm not? But I know you've got something going on with Kaidan." Word travels fast! I will definitely have to romance Cortez in another playthrough, I guess I'll just have to have to have two gay male Shepards.
I reeeeeeally hope they get the facecode import patch done soon, I want to play my Adept or my Vanguard next, and I don't know if I could ever recreate their faces perfectly.

And aside of that romance, there's really nothing. Just because they called that written on the knee fling with Samantha as "romance" doesn't magically turn it into one.
Can female Shepard have any involvement with the reporter (I know it doesn't count, but I'm curious if it's even available, since there is none of the rumored flirting with Vega for a male Shepard)?
Speaking of James, I've been entirely underwhelmed. I thought he would take the place of staunch comrade, but he's really sort of juvenile and dull.
After his first dialogue with Shepard... the one he keeps doing chin ups while talking to a "Commander" shows how good soldier and how mature indivudal he is. On top of that he loves renegadeish replies... creeepy.
Ah also he ain't capable of taking down a Phantom without protections... I had to kill her myself then rez him. Squadmate AI is worse than ME2 I guess.
Am I the only one who likes James? Not as a romance option, certainly, but as a "kid brother"?

I don't usually post after the games launch, but this I have to mention, It's an incredible story in spite of the endings.
I even like Liara, she's not pushy at all and a very good friend. Loved Samantha, Vega and EDI (even though I didn't think I would). Cortez is just unbelievable, hes such a good character and it feels like he's part of the crew and it pains me not to romance him in my 1st playthrough!!
And god, I just had the date with Kaidan as m!shep, and it's just awesome. Loved it, every single second. It feels so right and realistic. Thanks Bioware for creating such good characters!!
Out of curiosity, for your date scene, did Kaidan say you were handsome or did he ask you if you've ever known him to be with anyone?

The ONLY reason I am subjecting myself to the pain of playing ME3 again is for Cortez. Kaidan's absence at the begining of the game let me get quite attached to him and I almost chose him over Kaidan but Kaidan has been such a long time coming, I had to choose him first.
The pain thoughout the game itself was kind of "good" pain, I was emotional as a friggin 9 year girl through the whole game, I think about bits of it now and get teary but the end was bad bad BAD pain, more like Hotaru no Haka/Grave of the Fireflies pain. I am tempted to stop after the farewell speaches to the crewmates because I don't want to go through it again. The thought of a "special" ending for an imported ME3 character is the only thing that will make me play it.
Gosh... I really hope the ending isn't that horrible. I'm hoping for the best, though. I have to say I think I'll probably be playing through the game more than once regardless. Though I'm sure it'll be hard once I've experienced this ending. Although... Given some of the allusions I've encountered in-game, I'm sure it'll probably end up leading up to an ME4(or something) 50,000 years down the road. Seeing how Liara creates that memory device with your Shep in it.
Edit: Imagine if they put your Shepard in stasis for 50,000 years to fight the Reapers... That -could- make for another interesting game, especially set that far in the future. Like I said, though. I have no clue what happens, so... This is all conjecture on my part.
Glad to see some Cortez love! It's part of my plan to indoctrinate the forums.

It's one of the random comments when you find him in the starboard observation deck - I heard it after the date scene, before the conversation in the crew quarters.

I imported a male Shepard with no romances in either game, and it almost felt impossible not to romance him. Take all the upper right dialog options on Mars, basically validate his concerns about you and Cerberus and reassure him that you don't work for them anymore. Visit him at the hospital when he's unconscious (again, I took the upper right options), Go visit him after he wakes up (he'll e-mail you) and make sure you get him the whiskey from the hospital store. Again, just be nice to him. After the dialog, click on him again. Make sure you take every investigate option and eventually you should get the flirting line. I think there's one or two more hospital visits before he gets out. Again, just be nice to him and encouraging when the question of him joining the spectres comes up. That should build up enough trust for you to be able to avoid killing him during Udina's coup. After that, invite him to rejoin the Normandy when you meet him at the airlock. He's supposed to send an e-mail about meeting you at the cafe, but I happened upon him there and talked to him before I ever got the e-mail. The dialog trigger for the romance is very obvious for that conversation.
Interesting...so there was other conversations at the hospital? I only got the convo when he's unconscious, convo when he became conscious, talking to him right after that convo, and then chatting with him once he's recovered...where the whole 'promotion' (if you know what I mean) is mentioned.
Aside from that, I got the 'we've known each other for a long time' line and the 'have you ever known me to be with anyone?' line both at the cafe date. Which honestly I found much sweeter, because yes...my imported Shep has known Kaiden for a long long time. Happily in a relationship with Kaiden now, by the way.
years and two games of waiting and hoping for them to make kaiden available finally paid off. <3

Because it is magical reproduction, I figure asari do get something from their father. That and because Matriarch Aethyta is always right.Zandilar wrote...

No. Asari reproduce by a fascinating little method called parthenogenesis. Parthenogenesis only required the genetic material of the mother (the egg cell) - there are no sperm or second gamete of any kind involved.
If Liara and Female Sheperd were to have a child, Liara would bear it (Liara cannot impregnate Female Sheperd, which she could be capable of doing if she were truly hermaphroditic). The genes of that child would physically come from Liara. The idea that this child takes on some traits of the "father" could quite possibly be because the nervous system scrambling forces the genes that are most like the "father" in the mother's genetic make up to be expressed. In all liklihood, however, the traits seen as coming from the "father" are in fact traits aquired through nurture rather than nature, and the merging of nervous systems merely prompts the process to begin.
Please note that I am not an expert, and thus I might have some of the details wrong for parthenogenesis, but also bear in mind we are talking about a fantasy species that doesn't actually exist. So for all we know, a wizard did it. Asari are, according to the CODEX (why people insist on arguing with the Codex, I'll never know), FEMALE.

James isn't bad. He's definitely got the "bro" thing going on, but it suits him perfectly. He has a refreshing simplicity about him.
