I love the uploader comment. That so needs to be our slogan.

(Anyone feel like a thank-you thread is overdue now? Disappointment about Ash aside, Bioware have clearly gone out of their way to include s/s stuff in ME3, and the end result is actually more than what many were expecting even a few months ago. It'd be nice to counteract the mountains of bigotry (the YouTube comments on the Cortez scene, say) with some appreciation, I think.)

I feel absolutely horrible for feeling this way but as much as I want to thank the powers that be for the absolute joy I felt hearing my M!Shep saying "You and me. I like that. A lot." to Kaidan, it's tempered with absolute devastation (and more tears I have ever shed for anything) over the ending.
I guess a romantically satisfying ending was just too much to ask for. (shrugs shoulders - does that mean I'm in the 'acceptance' part of the grief process now?)

Me personally am still in the "Anger" stage of grief.
Yes we should probably thank the ME team for finally getting around to what the JE and DA teams did from the get go, which is provide a male same-sex relationship as a viable LI. Personality the fact that same-sex LI for male Shepards was planned but scrapped kind-of ruined what respect I had for the ME team.

Thank you for this. I always wondered what the bottom-right dialogue choices sounded like.Arik7 wrote...

I'm just trying to reason myself out of grief with the endings.
But the only reason to replay ME3 now, for me personally, is to relive those moments with Kaidan and my M!Shep. The romance was done beautifully and I couldn't really ask for more... I'm just so happy I got this. I would be so down for a thank-you thread, or some kind of thank-you anything, to show BioWare our appreciation for this. Yeah, we didn't get Ash in the end, but I don't think they have any idea how having Kaidan available makes some fans extremely happy. Kaidan being S/S is the brightest and happiest thing that happened to my M!Shep!
When I think of "happy" I think of the way Kaidan says it in the date scene when you confirm the relationship.

"Happy." As in "Happy with Benefits"?

On a side note, I wish they didn't have so many similarities. They're both dark skinned. They both had something happen to them involving the Collectors. They're both Alliance Officers. They both have a name that starts with an S. And they're exclusive to same sex.
I think they didn't need to have their similarities.

Well moreso the way he says "and that makes me SO happy" as if he's genuinely happy. I really liked that part.Daashi wrote...

Then yeah, the implication later about benefits too... bwahahaha, I love how it's implied that they're already having "relations" or "sanity checks" in Shepard's quarters, especially when Kaidan talks about Shep not waking Kaidan in a later chat with him.

Same. I finished it Thursday night, I didn't sleep Friday night because I kept thinking about the damn game. By Friday night all that sadness and depression from the game had turned to anger. I was looking forward to opening the art book once I finished ME3 but I haven't touched it, I just have no interest at the moment. BioWare's creators and writers should be damned proud that they managed to make millions of people get so attached to these characters and this world that saying goodbye had most emotional wrecks thoughout the game, especially the end. Whom ever came up with those endings should be shot. Endings were "planned for years"? Yea, right.

It was also good to see him get out of the ship at the end of the game, nice to know that he survived in my game.
That's
interesting, so does Shepard's LI always end up on the ship? In my
game Kaidan, Garrus and Joker emerged but I have seen other comments
mentioning different characters getting off the Normandy and it is
always their LI. So once I get to the ending of my second run with
Steve, I wont be able to physically say goodbye to him but then he will
mysteriously appear on the Normandy later one? Hmm, ok, that's fair.

Have any of you FemShep players tried flirting with Cortez? Is that even possible? I know they let MaleShep hit on Samantha, or does the "husband" thing just make it a nonissue, just curious. (I would think the "EDI your voice is sexy" woulda been obvious for her but ya know, they let you anyway)
I haven't actively tried to flirt with him, but I took the paragon dialog options with him and there was no flirty dialog.
It seems the answer is 'no'.

They sure did. There was a link to some game site I don't remember the name of in possibly the main "we hate the endings" thread with an article that was posted on the the 4th of March I think it was. There was a quote from Dr Ray Muzyka stating that he did a run through the entire series and "it was the most satisfying conclusion to any game series he has ever played" and that the endings had been planned not for 6 months or even 2 years but 6 or 7 years.
Make of that what you will....
But again yay Shepard/Kaidan romance! You know, just to "keep on topic"
I loved the "I'll never know what I missed" line from Shepard. See BioWare, you ruined Shepard's happiness.

Yeah! You get the option to go to the shower scene or to play chess. After the chess scene she leaves so no option to head to the shower. And you wonder why we are all complaining about...Cuddlezarro wrote...

Just finished my first playthrough, with my mshep romancing Kaidan...absolutely loved every second of of the romance. From the shy and vunerable presidium date, to the end Earth goodbye scene, the romance had me laughing at times ("You always were the stubborn one Kaidan" "... :PHeh...me?"), to feeling sad and emotional at the end. In fact, I'm still feeling sad and emotionally drained 2 hours after finishing the game.
They certainly came through for the Kaidan fans in the end, I thought it was perfect. I can't believe I let Kaidan die the first time I played ME1 just to get the romance achievement, with a character I could not stand for that matter, and I am not even "one of those people" that obsesses over gamer score and 100%ing a game.
It does amuse me a bit that they put so much work and thought into it yet went to great lengths to hide it from the public for the past 9 months or more. I thought maybe it was because they wanted it to be a big surprise announcement for the fans a fortnight or so before it came out but I don't think they ever mentioned it.

That all said, I'm hoping to brave the multiplayer world to bump up
galatic readiness to get a slightly more optimal ending...not that it
changes much from what I read. I would prefer to play with like minded
individuals, so if any of you guys/gals are are willing to play with a
multiplayer rookie such as myself (never tried it in the demo) please
add me. xbox gamertag = ChaoticLoon
I had no interest in the MP at all when it was announced because
frankly, I am sick to death of it being shoved into every game released
these days. But, my god I loved the demo. I was so addicted that I
even bought a gold account just to play ME3 MP. You will enjoy it! If you can get a good group of people playing with you it makes it 100% more enjoyable.
After playing only 3 or 4 matches my EMS score went from 3903 (crap I was so close to the "good" ending) to 5439 so it is really easy to bump up your score. I spent a good 5 hours playing MP tonight. My gamertage is StoneColdSCU.

After Kaidan says "It was so different back then, you were always so focused on the mission", Shepard says "You're right, I'll never know what I missed" and then you get the "You are just what I need right now" or "You're an evil distraction" :devil:choice. The paragon choice there was all nice and romantic but I kind of liked the "evil distraction" line, it seemed to fit so well

I've installed the game on my Xbox hard drive to speed it up GREATLY and make the cut scenes run smoother, but I've noticed quite a few hiccups in the friendship/romance scenes. Has anyone else noticed this? It seems there are awkward hiccups in the friendship scenes where I'm guessing a romantic branch was taken out or the friendship was inserted, and a similar situation with the romantic scenes with o/s Ashley and my GF's s/s Kaidan. Steve's friendship scenes run smoothly until you get the club and it has two hiccups.
It can't tell you how much it irks me since it is apparent we're missing a line or two of dialog at these hiccups (the CC shows the missed dialog for a split second before it disappears).
Since I haven't tried ALL the romantic options (and probably never will), I was just curious what other players were encountering.
