I noticed that too, during the Cortez bar scene. At the time I thought maybe it was just buggy and almost tried to replay a line or something, but cut/missing dialogue makes sense. Shenanigans afoot? I hope it's nothing that was intended to be thereAbispa wrote...
It can't tell you how much it irks me since it is apparent we're missing a line or two of dialog at these hiccups (the CC shows the missed dialog for a split second before it disappears).

So, gay male option is treated with so much respect, that you can't even hit on him playing a female, but if you're playing a guy, you can still hit on the lesbian?jlb524 wrote...

Have any of you FemShep players tried flirting with Cortez? Is that even possible? I know they let MaleShep hit on Samantha, or does the "husband" thing just make it a nonissue, just curious. (I would think the "EDI your voice is sexy" woulda been obvious for her but ya know, they let you anyway)
I haven't actively tried to flirt with him, but I took the paragon dialog options with him and there was no flirty dialog.
It seems the answer is 'no'.

She had a line about not wanting it get out that she broke Commander Shepard's heart *and* beat him at chess.
I thought it worked really well with the character.

They certainly came through for the Kaidan fans in the end, I thought it was perfect. I can't believe I let Kaidan die the first time I played ME1 just to get the romance achievement, with a character I could not stand for that matter, and I am not even "one of those people" that obsesses over gamer score and 100%ing a game. It does amuse me a bit that they put so much work and thought into it yet went to great lengths to hide it from the public for the past 9 months or more. I thought maybe it was because they wanted it to be a big surprise announcement for the fans a fortnight or so before it came out but I don't think they ever mentioned it.
Heh...To my chagrin, I also killed Kaidan in my first ME1 playthrough, oh so long ago, when it was apparent that Alenko didn't interact with my Shepard to the same extent as Williams. Despite me feeling crap over the Virmire incident, Ash did grow on me...just not romantically.
It wasn't until a few months ago, after reading posts from this forum group that I replayed ME 1 & 2, sacrificing Ash. Was very surprised and pleased to see scenes I never knew existed (i.e. the Horizon losing a limb line) ...gave me hope which has payed off in the end!
I agree that the mshep/Kaidan romance was handled perfectly...it seemed natural, with Kaidan's lines and Shepard's responses perfectly reflecting my previously closed off /colonist/sole survivor/man with 9 lives/paragon.
If i ever replay (and the ending makes me not want to)...it will be hard not to romance the guy again...damn you Kaidan
Will add you once I get home from Uni...not that I can focus today after finishing the game yesterday...grumble...grumble....

I was a total a*se to Ash in my second playthrough
I also know what you mean about being hard to not romance Kaidan again. I am playing again for Steve's romance. I have not gotten far past the second hospital visit and damn it, it will be hard to get the "brothers" speech from him later on after seeing his romance already. I am determined to play Steve's romance though. I played Dragon Age 2 8 times. Everytime Hawke ended up with Anders. I started with elf boy once and even slept with Isabella once (picked the wrong response, lol) but still ended up with Anders. It would be all too easy to get stuck in a Shepard/Kaidan loop everytime I play ME3. IF I ever play ME3 again after the second time, unless I really love Steve's story I just know it will be Kaidan everytime. *sigh* If only Shepard/Kaidan spanned the whole 3 games.

actually they did plan the endings for years but they ended up scrapping the original endings(it had to do with dark energy which was hinted at quite often in ME2) for... this mess
Sounds like another fine EA rush job to me, but even if they did end up scrapping the original endings (which I think is a darned shame) I refuse to believe that this was the best anyone at Bioware could come up with.
Even if EA insisted on copying the worst thing from the new Dues Ex game (the push a button to get ending a, b or c) couldn't they have included at least one ending where Shep does end up with the Li?

Did they actually say, that these endings were "planned for years"?
If that is true then; WTF!!!
They sure did. There was a link to some game site I don't remember the name of in possibly the main "we hate the endings" thread with an article that was posted on the the 4th of March I think it was. There was a quote from Dr Ray Muzyka stating that he did a run through the entire series and "it was the most satisfying conclusion to any game series he has ever played" and that the endings had been planned not for 6 months or even 2 years but 6 or 7 years.
Make of that what you will....
But again yay Shepard/Kaidan romance! You know, just to "keep on topic"
I loved the "I'll never know what I missed" line from Shepard. See BioWare, you ruined Shepard's happiness.
I'm pretty sure that is actually bull**** (about the ending anyhow). I recall seeing something written (not on this forum, somewhere else) about how the ending and the reaper's origin/goal changed fairly drastically from the original plot, due in large part to changes in the writing staff.

I don't really enjoy playing female characters as it tends to break my immersion, however when it came to romancing Alistair, I made an exception...loved that guy. Tried the equal opportunity mod to romance him as a male, but couldn't take the immersion breakers "I'm a GUY Alistair....by the Maker...STOP referring to me as a female!!!". Most, if not all of my males ended up with Morrigan.....only because I could never warm to Zevran (too stereotypical).Game_Fan_85 wrote...
When I played DA:O the first time it was on the 360 and last year bought and played the PC version with Alistair romance mods. There were a few more lines or responses but it didn't make a whole lot of difference to the relationship and friendship your character forms with him. I still completely fell in love with Alistair as an unmodded male character because there was such a deep amount of interaction and story.

I was a little pleasantly surprised by Steve...I went in the game fully committed to Kaidan, but found myself really liking Steve too. Loved the line in the bar when you comment on the eye candy "what makes you think I'm not looking...but I know you're with Kaidan"

lol in my ending Javik walked out as third. Not sure why though, I was equally nice to Javik, Vega, Cortez. I actually even criticized Javik at few occasions so dunno what exactly determines who walks outRomanDark wrote...
So in my ending Joker, Vega, and Kaidan walked off the Normandy into the Tropical Paradise. Wish Shepard was there for that sausage party.

I love how other characters are acknowledging that my ManShep is with Kaidan. It makes the romance more fulfilling. First Steve when I try to flirt with him but fail ("you have a thing with Kaidan!") and now Javik, who can sense Shepard's pheromones, lol.
I also heard Tali and Liara make a comments about MShep and Kaidan too, does anyone know when/where this happens in-game?

Samantha is a great character too, and it was funny and a bit sad when my FemShep turned her down in the shower scene (undies in the shower, BioWare? Really?). But I wanted to interact with Samantha on the Citadel, like with the others. My two Liara romances are up after my Kaidan playthroughs, I can't wait to see what romance-only Shepard gets to see, my Sentinel and my Engineer both friendzoned her, obviously.
I really can't wait to see how my Soldier playthrough turns out, she killed EVERYONE but Morinth and Kasumi, and she cheated on Kaidan with Jacob (who later died, of course). I might do the Samantha romance with that character, because she's going to ignore Kaidan and probably end up killing him (I have to see all the variations). And there really aren't any other new options for FemShep in ME3.

[stuff on dialog hiccups]
I didn't notice any hiccups, precisely, but a few conversations were seriously disjointed and felt like they were missing huge chunks (the second hospital conversation with nonromanced Ash, the Benezia "conversation" that was a two-line exchange with an unromanced Liara), rather in defiance of the whole "the friendship paths are awesome" promise.
Maybe that was part of it - I was just thinking how it was weird how a lot of the barks/banter exchanges felt more meaningful and character-developing than the actual staged dialogs (I won't call them dialog wheel conversations, because the dialog wheel is about as common in this game as charity on Tuchanka). I was much less disappointed in my interactions with Ashley than I expected to be from the "femShep has no conversations with her" spoilers. I was still disappointed, mind, but I still felt like I got more from her than I did from Kasumi in ME2, and I always felt I'd gotten more from Kasumi than any of the non-DLC ME2 squadmates. (Off-topic, I'm kind of disappointed with what they did with Kasumi. Saving Kahje is awesome, but the whole "afraid to join the fight" thing is bizarre and OOC. She was the one single person who *never* hesitated or doubted Shep in ME2, LIs included. They could have found a better reason to keep her off the squad.)
Still irritated she never once called me "Skipper" though (between that and "Shep" I guess I know why Vega thought he could get away with "Lola," but unfortunately for him he's not even in the same galaxy wrt my Shep as Ash and Kasumi). It's not like it was deliberately a feature of the romance with a minor one-line like "Siha" was, she calls a friendly femShep that all the time in ME1.
