Back to the main point though, I like Kaidan and Cortez. When I did my gay Sentinel playthrough, I felt really torn, I wasn't expecting that. I thought I was going to be able to dismiss Steve as an LI pretty easily. I was very happy that BioWare gave us two good m/m romances. I was less pleased with the f/f options though. That's the real bummer of ME3, that the very promising human f/f pairing comes off as truncated. I can only really compare her to Cortez, but I just felt Samantha could have been more than she was. I wanted to know about her family, I wanted to know more about her life in general. The galaxy is going to hell in a handbasket, and she comes off rather like she doesn't quite get what's at stake sometimes. I liked her moments when she's talking about intel she's found and analyzed and Shepard's interactions with her after the missions are complete, but I found most of EDI's interjections in these conversations to be patronizing and condescending. Like EDI couldn't have analyzed all that data herself?

"Straight" female Shepard got screwed in quantity and "lesbian" Shepard got screwed in quality is what I gather reading all the comments.

People are idiots!?!

That would be my answer.

Yeah! Like I said several posts before you get more renegade points for refusing pimping EDI to Joker.

This game, like all Bioware game about choices. All choices have an outcome. Instead of clicking goody-two-shoes answer if they try to understand what's been said in a conversation or give some attention to story at hand no one can be "ninjamanced".

Everyone can blame devs for being something something, however they don't want to blame themselves with  being witless idiots. I wonder if they answer any question in real life with "I was waiting for the right man" then whine about a guy is harrassing them.Posted Image

One of my straight ladyfriends ninjamanced Samantha. I laughed so damn hard when she told me. I was like "She asks you to take a shower WITH YOU IN THE ROOM, then you have to CHOOSE to join her, how the hell do you "accidentally" do that!" Was so hilarious. She's cool with homosexuality and all so it was just a laugh for us both(and we've been fighting over Kaidan :P) I'll forever laugh at her for unlocking Paramour in a lesbian relationship.

Edit: She's an editor for a major newspaper in her state so she's not like dumb or blazing past dialogue or anything, just off or something.

Whoa, whoa, whoa! When I tell guys, "I was waiting for the right man," I'm really just telling them I'm looking for an awesome bro to go out drinking with, crush beer cans on our foreheads, and make constant wolf whistles at girls taking part in wet t-shirt contests! It's politically correct stuff like ME3 that is making it that much harder to do normal guy stuff with other guys!

*Best EDI impersonation I can manage* That was a joke.

The way Cortez's VA reads that "Who says I'm not." in response to the "Why aren't you looking over here?" line is SOOOO freaking sexual, I was like "omg he wants to do all kinds of bad things to me! Run Shepard, run... slowly!" Anyone who ninjamances Steve seriously has issues.

My favourite lines of his are from the sex scene - "You have that effect on people". He says it soooo perfectly, acting calm lines like that is the hardest but he just does it great

Like I said before, I usually don't do the gay romances unless I'm just running through a game to try out all the options for the hell of it, but even from just a "friend" standpoint Steve is one of the better characters in the game. I haven't tried the Samantha romance, but I definite did NOT find her "friendship" to be much more than filler. I almost feel the same about her as the Jacob non-fans feel about him, only without the blind hatred.

I don't think I could romance Cortez. I feel like he's too..shattered from his ordeal. Even though you can help him through it, I don't exactly think having some drinks with him after he puts up his record on the memorial wall is something I would be doing.

Plus, I just love Kaidan too much. His romance was perfect.

Now, jumping in the shower with Samantha...that was just weird.  And while obviously Samantha wants Shepard to make the move, I felt like that whole scene was bad porn material.  I can't see any Shepard of mine wanting to initiate a romance that way, and it's a shame, since Samantha seems nice otherwise.  It also sucks that even her friendship seems lacking compared to Steve's.  I really have to wonder what the reasoning was behind it.

Everyone keeps calling that scene (bad) porn, but it's not porn, even though it is bad, given what they were aiming for and how it came out in the end... It's hillarious. Comedy gold, even. The animations, the facial expressions... I was LOLing all the time I was stepping back and reloading, as my main Shep's heart belongs to Liara. (I do plan to follow through with the Samance on my next playthrough, if I ever manage to get to it between Uni and SWTOR.)

They could have done SO much better with that scene. I wouldn't even mind if it WAS soft-core pornography - the context of the scene is poigniant, the galaxy is being destroyed piece by piece, and neither Sam nor Shepard knows how much longer they've got. So jumping into the shower with each other and/or having sex before really getting to know each other actually makes sense. It makes a whole lot more sense than trying to take it slowly, because they could all be dead the next day.

I get that it makes some people uncomfortable, so maybe it really wasn't the best way to have Sam or Shepard initiate the romance - but I think there's not a lot of room for taking things slowly when the galaxy is falling apart around them.

Tom Bissell suggested Bioware stop doing 'sex' scenes completely, since they're usually so horrifically awkward:

http://www.grantland...n-mass-effect-3

I'd have to agree, honestly - they add almost nothing to the LI arc, they're really clunky and I don't know why Bioware keeps putting them in except to cater to fans.

For some reason they never really hit the same tone as they did in the first ME, and instead of 'artistically tasteful' it looks like a trainwreck.

Then there's stuff like femShep/Sam...

I enjoyed the mShep/Kaidan love scene....   Yes rolling in bed in underwear is a little strange, but you know what they meant,,, but yes ME1 style would work even better...

I'm glad there was no blanket. It looks awful lol. Did you see it in Liara's sex scene? Looks like a piece of rock covering her boobs xD

Aha, so it does work like the PC version.  I was looking at the files of my ripped ME1 and found the file that gets changed in the PC version but could not see anything about gender.  I will have to try this A.S.A.P.  Using my glitch hack I might not need to mess with USB stcks.

LOL!

That remind me how my mind wandered everytime TIM mentions they rebuild Shepard as he was.

Did Miranda handled important parts?

How did they know exact size?

Could they find Shepard's junk at all?

Heh, I couldn't help but have a similar thought during the video logs, and a few times during ME2.  Just how did they know how to rebuild Shep "exactly" as he was born?  There'd be no problem with FemShep and her chest as BioWare uses the same model for every female in every game, .

Not only that. After telling him that you're waiting for the right man, you have to agree to dance with him and then you have to tell him you want to be with him. Only after that you're locked in the romance. That's why I'm like  when I read complaints that someone got "ninjamanced" by Steve. You have to be an idiot to get ninjamanced by him. I mean, how more clear "waiting for the right man + I want more than friendship" could be???

I agree that you are free to be as nice as you possibly can to Steve WITH NO WORRIES about a ninjamance, but the problem is that Bioware has a track record. If Steve has existed in DA:O, ME1. or ME2, he would already be planning your wedding after the second conversations if you didn't treat him like a jerk. And if you ever said, "I'm there for you, Steve." after the personal video, you'd be locked into a bedroom scene with him even if you were female Shepard.

My best friend is playing ME3 now and really loving it which surprised me because I didn't think it would his type of game.  I think I told him about Steve's character before he started.  I was asking about how his game is going and told him he better be nice to Steve.  He said he was but he picked whatever the opposite of "I'm here for you Steve" during the crying scene so I told him he WAS mean.  I can see lots of straight guys doing that, being worried the gay guy is going to jump their character in the next scene.  I told him not to worry, being nice to the guy wont make Shepard gay.  I have a feeling he will die at the end of his game somehow, haha.

I also think part of the thing with ninjamances is just that people, for some reason, can't separate "option to begin romance" from "in a romance." If I had a dollar for every person on the LJ comm I've seen say "oh I accidentally got in a relationship with Sam, we were talking and then suddenly the dialog wheel is asking me if I want to get in the shower with her," I would be a rich, rich person. And these aren't stupid or homophobic people; they all just clicked the decline option and didn't shag her and moved on to romance Kaidan or whatever, and none of them are bothered by the idea that they were briefly in a gay relationship with their yeoman-substitute. But they weren't and I am still perpetually baffled by how they can possibly think they were.

God Leliana! I loved her, just not like that! One moment we were having a girly discussion about Alistair's performance and next thing I knew she was declairing her love for me and talking about how close we were and about how she thought she would never have a relationship like that ever again, but now she does.

I thought everyone knew that professing a love for footwear is an accepted wooing practice in Thedas.

(and DA2's flirt icons made that *a lot* less ambiguous)

This thread needs more love.

Yes. I am just looking for an excuse to post images of my Shep and Kaidan finally (after three games) consummating.
