By the sounds of it, I have found a fellow pagan. Yay!
You create a new game, if you want to romance Ash create a man, if you want to romance Kaidan, create a woman. Use the defult appearance, or else when you change gender you'll end up with a woman with a man's head and vice versa.
Save the first chance you get, copy that save onto a port drive/thumb drive/USB drive (it's port it right next to where you plug in your internet cable).
When on your laptop/PC, open the txt file of that save. Your gender is either marked as a 0 or a 1; if your gender is mark as 0, change to 1 and vice versa.
Then load that altered save back onto your X-Box and enjoy. When you load that save, your character will have changed gender. (The game of course will treat your character as the original gender, however importing the save into ME2 and ME3 will recoginise your character changed gender as true.)
(That should work, but as I was saying I have yet to find a port drive that fits into my X-Box [lots of excess plastic on the sides of the drives I own], so I have yet to test this and see if it works.)
I have a new save on a USB drive but I am not seing a txt file. Using an x360 explorer program there is the save file itself and 3 .sav files inside that but no txt files. Changing the player.sav to a txt file results in gibberish.
