I've never experienced hex editors myself, so I'm a little worried to try this out.  If you could send me those files I think that'd be great.

Cool, I will make a new fresh male and female shepard saved after the opening and send the files to you tomorrow.  It would be so awesome if we could somehow fluke this into working   It's a shame the 360 file can't be extracted with a zip program, that was the first thing I triedearlier today.

I just hope the hex files for the PC and 360 match up, I am thinking that will be the main problem.  I am still really curious as to whether the 360 contains all the male and female lines the PC version does.  If my male Shep speaks like a girl it will ruin it for me! :P  I have no problem with having to use Sheploo, I used the default character first time I played so now I can't imagine that voice coming out of any other face.  Never had that problem with DA2 cause they screwed default Hawke up so badly.  If he looked like the CG version it would be great.  At least that is ONE of the PC mods that works with the 360 version of DA2, being able to use defualt Hawke hair and blood smear.  Shame the others that worked with the PS3 do nothing.

I never found any guides to getting a Kaidan/mShep romance in ME to work - afaik people never worked out how to do it, or the hex editing was too complicated.

The only way it was possible was to finish an ME save, import it into ME2 then adjust the Xbox save data with Gibbed's tools and Modio. I guess you know all that, and the links are really easy to find.

*sigh* Damn you BioWare, why did you have to make this so complicated to change?  I don't have high hopes anything will come of it(as you say, there would have been something years ago surely) but I'll try anyway.

I tried to romance kaidan as a renegade but he didn't show any interest in me. even during the date scene. shepard just said they are like bros. that's stupid, because I wanted to play as a renegade shep. does somebody know if there is a moment where you have to take the paragon choice to start or activate the romance? I don't want to choose the upper choice all the time, just to make sure, that they'll be together. maybe there's only one line where I really have to choose it. would be good to know this. hopefully somebody can help me.

this is just speculation ony my part
my first playthrough was a paragade and my second was the ultimate renegade, but I think what really mattered was how I reacted to Kaidan
if you pick the paragon options as early as Mars (maybe even when meeting briefly at the beginning) and you try to explain that you're not with Cerberus as opposed to just telling him 'you're done explaining yourself to him' it might work, also you need to buy the gift in the store located in the Huerta Memorial Hospital
But being nice to him should help, the scene at the end of the Coup definately played out differently for those two Shepards

but as I said, it's just speculation, maybe someone else has hard evidence

I'm fairly sure insisting on Mars that you aren't with Cerberus is pretty vital to being on good terms with the VS.

It seems to affect the romance arc and it definitely affects the coup ending options.

okay, thank you. I'll try it the next time I play mass effect. hopefully, it'll work. the last time I played the game I was unapologetic about cerberus. maybe that was my mistake.

I have a question for anyone who's done Renegade Shep and still romanced Kaidan. I've done mostly Paragon stuff with him, being nice on Mars and bringing him the bottle of liquor, but when he said "Are we good" in the second hospital scene when he's awake, I said choose the renegade "Yeah, for now" option. I noticed that doing that instead of the paragon choice made the next set of dialogues (when you ask about his biotics) play differently, and he didn't say "Are you flirting with me, Commander?" I liked that, 'cause it will make the scene in Apollo's Cafe have more meaning to me, since that was the first real admission that he liked my ManShep.

So my question: will the romance still trigger later on if I don't pick the option that makes him say "Are you flirting with me?" I'd like to play hard to get a bit ... ;) Any input is appreciated!

he always says "are you flirting with me commander" even if you choose the renegade option. I've tried it a few minutes ago. but he won't say it, if you ask him about his biotics before you mention the events on horizon with the dialog wheel. I missed that investigate dialog completely, and the romance still worked. so I think it's possible.... even with the renegade option.

just make sure to ask him about his biotics before you choose the horizon and family option on the wheel and he won't say the flirting line.

I just beat the game with gay Kaidan LI and I still black out when I try to remember what happens after I blow TIM's brains out. I am so disappointed since I somehow managed to forget the greatest gay wedding in science fiction history.

Now to have one of my other gay Shepards make Cortez cry some tears of joy.

It would have been an incredible ending if there was an actual Kaidan and Male Shepard wedding.  MAKE IT HAPPEN, BIOWARE!  It's unfortunate that we receives a depressing ending full of plot holes.  "Bittersweet", my ass...

Okay tried to progress in logical order in Kaidan romance but it feels weird. Date comes after Cerberus mission and even without date Shep and Kaidan have that "Are you flirting?" talk at the begining on Cerberus conversation in Crew Deck. I think writers assumes Kaidan and Shep already have some interest going on from earlier games.

Kudos for new banner Isaac. Don't worry I will provide Kaidan a shoulder to cry on... maybe more. :P

Back to the main point though, I like Kaidan and Cortez. When I did my gay Sentinel playthrough, I felt really torn, I wasn't expecting that. I thought I was going to be able to dismiss Steve as an LI pretty easily. I was very happy that BioWare gave us two good m/m romances. I was less pleased with the f/f options though. That's the real bummer of ME3, that the very promising human f/f pairing comes off as truncated. I can only really compare her to Cortez, but I just felt Samantha could have been more than she was. I wanted to know about her family, I wanted to know more about her life in general. The galaxy is going to hell in a handbasket, and she comes off rather like she doesn't quite get what's at stake sometimes. I liked her moments when she's talking about intel she's found and analyzed and Shepard's interactions with her after the missions are complete, but I found most of EDI's interjections in these conversations to be patronizing and condescending. Like EDI couldn't have analyzed all that data herself?

I actually adored traynor's romance. She doesn't get what's at stake completely at first. On my Ashmancing dudeShep she became his best friend and seemed to care about him on that level, but her emotional depth increases with her romance. I had a single playthrough of Kallen that was saved for ashley and when she couldn't have her She fell hard for Sam. When she talks to you after coming from the war room, especially after rannoch I think, she wants to physically tear a Repaer in half and Shep welcomes her to the ship like "You get it Sam"

and then in response before the erberus mission Shepard gets an option to say how scared she is and Sam say "you're in the military princess, now go out there and win it for us." She goes from an R&D lab to the ship at the "tip of the spear" as Hackett calls it and she grows because of it.Posted Image

I can't believe Harbinger didn't get any lines in ME3. He should have been a final boss and the leader of the Reapers, not some silly God child.

I HATED the "choose your favorite color" ending but I did LOVE that there was not a final boss fight. Beat the same big guy two or three times with some convoluted puzzle or weak spot system for each round. I was fine with doing all the fighting on Earth with the waves of husks and weirdos and I was fine with making killing TIM with one shot but I was NOT fine with destroying half the galaxy no matter what and basically making the who series a wasted exercize.

I do agree that Harbinger should have been a larger presense in the game even though I did not like him

Yes. I am just looking for an excuse to post images of my Shep and Kaidan finally (after three games) consummating.

...

So apperantly ImageShack doesn't appreciate the love. <_<

Yup. I don't mind no "big boss" at all. The confrontation with TIM was one of the greatest moments in the entire franchise. Just amazing.

Yah, that bugs me, too (the flirt before the acknowledgement of interest).  That's why I asked my question about renegade options.

Sweet!!  Thanks!  I don't want him to flirt with me until we have our discussion at the Cafe, so that's awesome to know.  I just didn't want to play for hours and then realize I fubar'd myself but not letting him say that line.  :)  Thanks!!

Did anyone in here go for Kelly in ME3? My first Shep had the dinner with Kelly in ME2, etc, but I never saw any options to go further in 3. I was always checking in at the Citadel for the millions of quests there and talked to her every time (thinking I was going to turn her down even if an option showed since I was delusionally holding out for Ash >.<). I wasn't locked into romance with anyone, hadn't even flirted until I invited up Sam when it was almost the end of the game. Input, anyone? Just curious if there was something big that I missed.

Odd. I imported my ME1 Shep and I was paragon to him the entire series, even on Mars.
I saved before I talked to Kaidan. After I gave him the whiskey, I chose the renegade "We're good, for now" option.
However, the first option I picked was "How are your biotics?" and he STILL gave me the "are you flirting with me commander?" line.
I honestly think there is some trust level that is calculated for the VS throughout the entirety of the series.
