This is after the game ends. >.> There may yet be hope. Or more wishful thinking. :(

Trying stupid hard to go through it again with Steve to see what he emails you now that I have my phone. :/ it's proving to be quite difficult. If I get around to it I'll type out all the messages here since I know some people won't have a stupid iwhatever. :/ I only caved because all the good stuff is on it. <_<

Thanks for the update.  I'm a Blackberry/Galaxy Tab guy, so I don't have the iWhatevers, so I appreciate the updates.

Wow, it's been a while since I posted here XD. Anyway.

Is there anywhere I can find all emails and stuff that you get from the app? I tried downloading the app but apparently my iphone is too old for it :/. I just want to look at the LI specific emails.

I know this might have been asked before but I can't find it. Can you still get Cortez even if you romanced Ashley in 1 and slept with almost everyone in 2? This is my only save without Kaidan and I can't seem to say no to him.

I think you can, though I wonder if he will have a new line in that case. Since when you're single, he says "I heard a few ladies have shown interest, you haven't bitten yet?". Would make much sense if you had a history with girls in ME1/ME2. But I don't have Sheps who slept with anyone in ME1/ME2 to test Steve's reaction xD

I'm sure eventually they'll all go up on the wiki or something, till then I have no idea. I didn't get an iPhone till just last week so I had no idea this app even existed and therefore missed all the emails my first go through. I'll keep looking though, and I'm going through it now with mshep/steve so we'll see what happens

In my faithful Me1&2 Liara romance import, I got the "I heard a few ladies have shown interest, you haven't bitten yet?" line...which is odd, considering that I had "bitten" ...so, unfortunately nothing extra for a Shepard that has slept with women...but at least you can still get with Steve!

Yes, but if you lock Shep in a relationship in ME3 before dancing with Steve, he is aware of that and refuses to flirt more with you. Tested with Kaidan, not with anybody else, but I think it should work with everybody. So there are two people - Steve and Javik, who know of Shep's LI. Everybody else is obviously blind. Or stupid. Or jealous. It is sad that at least ME1 characters (who know you for couple of years) don't have "I'm happy for you and whoever" line sometimes somewhere.

In other news... Wait... There is iPhone app in which you get e-mails from ME3 characters?!?!?! What else does this app do? I have Galaxy, so I'm just curious. M.

Oh it is nice to hear your experience with gamers. Maybe it all boils down to games we play or people we befriend in those games.

I am long time City of Heroes player and during my 5 years in that game I came across 1 lesbian player. On the other hand met more gay players, between 10-15 if I have to go with numbers(still lower than female players tho').  Maybe being a gay or a lesbian is a factor here. More common points between people of same sexual orientation and all.

Maybe making a distinction like that is silly. I mostly see gay and lesbian players as LGBT players which makes our numbers higher. Strength in numbers after all. If gaming companies open one path (like gay romance) they should also include other one. That is not a big deal with bisexual peoples I guess. Even without LGBT characters they will have some character to play romance after all.

Eh. Bi folk like representation too. If you're only allowed to express half your identity through Shep, you may be doing better than those who couldn't do so at all, but you're still getting less of the game than players whose every potential interest is accommodated.

Yes, agree on that. Adding only gay male LI or only gay female LI hinders their enjoyment from the game as well.

So, equality in games for everyone.Posted Image

What makes you sure about that? They introduced to you as  "Hi, I'm straight female player"?

I am not saying I am sure, those are numbers depending people I met and how they express themselves. So in a sense yes the female players I know are straight except one of them(all others are married or ones who has/had boyfriends). I am not go out and ask all CoH players their orientation. This is numbers for my gaming friends (40-50 indivudals). For other people I've met I am not even sure if they female or male, can't say that on online games depending player's characters in game.

Well, given I can count those numbers with both hands - I'd say my experience is hardly representative of anything.

I think it comes down to the old adage, "birds of a feather flock together".

It isn't silly to make a distinction. We all want different things (the fact that I tend to scan past posts about Shepden/Sheptez would definitely show this - which means I've had slim pickings to read in this thread since the launch, but I can't speak for other f/f fans). But it is nice to support each other, it's just that sometimes some people in this thread have come across as callous towards one side or another (for example: on the issue of Ashley).

[rant - please don't read if you don't want to hear me whining about Ashley again]
Anyone would think that making Ashley bisexual would have somehow negated Kaiden's bisexuality or Cortez's gayness. Yes, we know the situation as it stood prior to ME3 wasn't fair to you guys. But you got what you were asking for, and your new guy has a reasonably chunky storyline. We got Liara (who I personally like, who my canon Shep was faithful to, but who doesn't satisfy other lesbian gamers or other f/f fans due to her alieness), and Sam, who had a very flimsy story/romance compared to Steve (so much potential wasted. :crying: Oh Sam... :(). We also got next to no friendship at all with Ashley, which was the sting in the slap that not getting a bisexual Ashley was. (Kelly and Allers, please don't bring them up. Kelly is hardly a romance at all, easy to get her killed, and Allers is a throwaway one night stand type character, who I don't think you even have to bring on the ship.)
[/rant]
Gosh, I didn't think I was still so angry about that... :pinched:

Yeah, if you don't care for Liara you're pretty SOL as a lesbian Shep. And I don't see an expanded content patch coming for Sam any more than I see a queer patch for Ash. :/

I was actually a bit surprised by Allers - her gate conversation doesn't lead immediately to sex. (Unlike poor Sam.) I did a quicksave test on the flirt just to check it out and she just smirks at you and promises to come back later, basically. I'll have to actually test it out on some other playthrough where it might be in character. (Butcher!Shep maybe, Thane dying would probably mess her up enough to try it.)

I am kinda liking Diana Allers now. Also her turn down reply is sly/funny, it is something like "you think I was hitting on you? I better be more careful in future". Posted Image

Still she looks like a lifeless doll but at least her conversations are fun. Voice acting not sounds bad too.

Do you lock in Samantha romance after shower scene? If not I still have a chance with Allers on my current femaleShep. At least there is filrting before banging each other.Posted Image

I've completed Ashley FemShep on a modded save file. They did have some friendship path but it was just not very developed. The romance path doesn't really have that much more before the actual love scenes either.

I find that equal parts unsurprising and disappointing.

Good thing they didn't ruin her character by making her s/s, right? Right guys? That would be just awful.

Not sure about anyone else, but Liara seems to notice if you've been playing with Samantha.

I'm torn about the whole thing. To me, it seems the only relationship they 'really' fleshed out and paid a lot of attention to was Liara. Her dialogue is really in-depth if you romanced her in the first two games, and I felt finally that we were connected as ME3 drew to a close. It was nice to see her development path and how she grew into a partner in saving the galaxy instead of a starry-eyed researcher romaticizing about days long since passed who just happens to want to fumble through her first sexual experience with Shep.

On the playthrough with my femshep that stayed to herself in the first two games, I was really disappointed in the lack of character\\romance development with the LI's we were given. Allers wasn't even an option for me - too crass. Sam is cute and a heck of a lot better than Kelly Chambers was (I always saw Kelly as a bit of a sleep-with-anyone-even-remotely-interesting type), but needed more lead-in dialogue before they end up in a shower together. Again Liara is interested, but it almost felt forced. I'm not sure how I feel about what happened there. And I guess... Was that it? I guess it was... which leads into my next issues.

I know this isn't the thread for it, but I feel bad that str8sheps have no interests at all unless they romanced Garrus or saved\\romanced Kaidan. Sad. I wonder why they made some of these design decisions.

I do not do the f/f romances usually but I agree that it is silly Ashley is not available since she would require less of a "retcon" than Kaidan. And "religious" is not an excuse since you do not have to be religious to believe in God and religious people can have s/s relationships. My brother-in-law's Rabbi is a lesbian.

I agree with Ash remaining straight is silly, in fact I find silly not opening every single romance to everyone, since "open romances = more choices and better use of the available resources".

But I think they went that route because they already had too many f/f:Liara, squaddie like Kaidan and the largest romance in the series, Sam, non squaddie romance like Cortez, Diana fling without male counterpart, I'm not sure about Kelly but people say it's possible to rekindle the relationship. Making more f/f would mean making even more "useless" m/m to keep it as fair as possible. I think the only player who always win is the straight male one, which is actually the only one who complains about others having more options.

Also, I don't see how m/m Kaidan is more of a retcon than Ash if a retcon at all, I am a bisexual man happily married to a woman, but if I got divorced and found a man who made me happy and started a relationship with him, it wouldn't be a retcon, it would be just life, the life of bisexual people is just like that. Kaidan is bisexual with m!Shep and not gay afaik, so no retcon there with Rahna thing.

To finish I'd like to say that imo, they should make the lead male and female romance always bisexual by default and well integrated to the main plot. Then if they don't want to go the all bi route and add straight/gay exclusive options for the sake of it, they should do it with non so important characters. Thus, everyone gets the co-protagonist they want whether male/female or same sex/opposite sex and if they add "sexual variety/restrictions" it won't harm the experience of others. (Like DAO should have had Alistair and Morrigan as bisexual and Zevran and leliana as straight/gay).

Seeing as my internet was down most of Thursday and today and I couldn't get my much needed dose of ME3 multi-player in, I decided to force myself to play some more of my Steve play through. I met him in Purgatory straight after the coup attempt and started the romance which I am happy about, because it happened before I met up with Kaidan again. Would have been too hard having Kaidan back and actually having to choose.

When I played the game the first time and had a look at the Steve "date" scene, followed by a quick chat on the Normandy, all he said to me was "how am I supposed to concentrate with you standing there?"

This time he said "are wondering why I am smiling so much? It's because I can't stop thinking about last night" Heh, another implied scene we don't get to see >_<

Oh and going through Mordin and Thane's death a second time was not any easier :crying:

I agree completely with this. I think that BioWare will improve on future games now that they know the community really wants this. We've seen the progression over the course of the games, and the last barrier to break through was m/m relationships. They've done it now, established precedent, and not surprisingly, the world didn't end because of it.

I wish they hadn't finish Shepard's story the way they did. Mass Effect isn't a universe that should have been 'ended' with the third installment, not when there was so much more to do. And now his\\her story is pretty much over.

But you are right. It was cute when Shep said "sorry, if you vere human, you would be other mother"... I can see rainbows and butterflies from now on. M.

Everyone thinks Shep's a gal, although he talks with Meers' voice 99.9% of the time (a few foibles here and there).  The only bug I've had with it is that sometimes my graphics really stutters or freezes for a bit, which it never has while playing a normal one (I'm on the PC, though).  Dunno if that's just me or not, but it's been fun to learn more about Kaidan as MShep, 'cause a lot of his background dialogue isn't available to him normally (like they bond over being Alliance kids if your Shep is a Spacer as Kaidan's dad was Alliance ... never heard that in the vanilla MShep playthroughs).

So it's fun.  I just take deep breaths when my cutscenes freeze.

I haven't come across any graphic bugs so far, BUT, the 360 version, AKA Mass Effect beta, runs like a dog anyway so it's hard to tell :P  Luukee, as Bellendaine said, yea the rest of the game thinks you are a girl and calls you ma'am or refers to you as a "her" or "she"  This results in the hillarious scene in Chora's Den at the beginning of the game when you speak to Harkin.  It's even better that it is Meer's voice for the whole scene :D  I've come across only 2 unvoiced lines so far which is pretty good.  So far, the cut scenes are the only place you hear Hale's voice such as the Prothean Beacon scene, when you enter Dr Michel's medlab and when you escape the Prothean dig site after rescuing Liara.  They are pretty small scenes though so I've been able to deal with it.

Every now and then someone will say "yes ma'am" and it brings me out of the game because I'm not expecting it, which is stupid I know.  It makes me laugh every time.

@Bellendaine:  Maybe the cutscenes switching to femShep have something to do with the cut scenes freezing.  Did you do the hex edit or the regular console command switch or both?
