Whatever floats your boat, OP. Whatever floats your boat.

If you enjoyed it, then that's great. At least you got something enjoyable for your money.

The whole conversation in the Throne room was epic

I wish I noticed, I was too busy scratching my head and wondering wth he was doing.

Fenris pretty much states it. When Qunari take over a city/place they gather up everyone in one place, convert ones who don't resist, kill ones that do and kill there leader to prove a point. Why the Arishok went after the nobles however is the real question.

And why didn't he take advantage of this:
"People in Hightown feel safe, not because the city's walls are impregnable, but because an invader would need to scale the stairs from Lowtown in order to reach them. Many bloody battles have been fought on those narrow stairs, and in several wars Hightown has held out for months after Lowtown was taken."

Easy answer is that Bioware continously fails to portray military situations, tactics and warfare in general adequately.

Pretty much, there is somethings that are not clear, but alas the writers where rushed. It's hard to do something right when you have EA breathing down your neck wanting this game out fast for a quick buck.Hopefully EA will have learned there leason. Hopefully.

Good to see you enjoyed the game! Don't let the haters get to you.

@Some of you

Seriously? Not only are you mocking/dissing the OP without any justification....but also using a homophobic comic to do so? This doesn't show DAII in a bad light......it reflects poorly upon you.

How can someone see anything homophobic in that comic? And it is just true isn't it? Of those characters, only Hawke can be one! Some crazy mofo went to GoG complaining about CDPR not letting him play a gay witcher... come on!

Eh it was an average game, a bit disappointing and I hope they improve the next games.

It wasn't a total failure though and I did somewhat enjoy it and I don't think its completely ruined the series. Not to mention it kept itself reasonably consistent and I think in ten years time when Dragon Age 4-6 is out people will look back at DA II and realize how it kept the story going and how it could have been MUCH worse. People just gotta face that fact and accept it as part of the DA series.

EDIT: WOAH. I haven't been on the DA 2 forums for a long time and I didn't realize people were still making a big fuss and being so immature over all of this...come on, what happened to the days of KOTOR and the old Bioware forums when we were supposed to be one of the most mature fanbases? I see way too much image and meme spouting and way too much arguing and flame wars around here lol...not that they are necessarily bad but leave it to other websites not here.

In my game, there was definitely a "significant look" shared between Geralt and Iorveth. I'm sure of it.

For OP, I'm a long time RPG fan and I had many "OMG I love this game" moments with DAII. Not so much in the "Wow, RPG" sense, but definitely in the "Wow, story" or "Wow, combat" sense.

I already posted but I'd just thought I'd mention that The Witcher and Witcher 2 are technically better games than DA 2 in my opinion...but at the same time it kind of comes down to opinion...the Witcher games are kind of oddities, they have a lot of good things but then there are a lot of bad parts of the game too which sort of drag them down. The first Witcher for example, the combat and gameplay and start of the game was a bit of a drag but the storyline, world and development was really interesting.

EDIT: What I mean is that for some people DA 2 is a better game etc.

Particularly for those who only plays on consoles... since there's no Witcher for them! hahaha  But when it comes for the Xbox in Nov/11 that may change! :innocent:

I agree. You never know. My neighbours dog eat sh** all the time. I dont know why but he probably like it. My own dog eat sausage, dog food and stuff like that.

They both enjoy their food and they eating what they like right ? You have your preferences and that neighbours dog will have his supporters. Same thing with our food. Healthy, good food sell poor while fastfood is good business.

Truth is that market decide. Whatever will sell better - will be served. Even when it will be sh**. As long as there are people who enjoy it and prefer it over anything else. That's why todays games are not for gamers but for casual players. Idiots that complain that games are too complex, to long, that require some skills and stuff. They complains that games require them to think or be focused while doing something. They want to play games but they cannot. Market hear them. So this people instead of watching movies, play games that are interactive animations. So stupid that you must stay idle if you want to die and loose.

Glad you enjoyed the game.

Out of curiosity:
-could you give a bit more information about what you liked?
-what difficulty did you play on?
-party members' tactics: on or off?
-pause and play: frequent or infrequent?

As I say. It's like food. Good sell bad. Bad sell good. It's like with music. If you today release instrument that will make great songs when you randomly push buttons - people will buy it, play it and hear it. "Push the button, something awsome will happen" you should place in advert. Then they will say "You're ruining the scene by supporting that mainstream electro-something, raaaaaaaaaah!".
Same think with games. Sam with DA II. I press button ® and what ? Darkspawn EXPLODE! YEAH!. I push it again - RAIN OF FLAMES! YEAH!. Again - AWSOME ANIMATION WHEN I BRING DOWN OGRE!. YEAH!.
So I play DA II. R, 1, 2, 3, R, 2, 3, 1, 4, R, R, 2, R, 3. Wow. So awsome.
Fires, ninjas, waves of monsters. All bow down in front of my power and might.
No need to do anythig else. You just stand still and kill everything that come at you. No problem.

It's only example. Another is Prey. You shoot. You die, you got 15s of animation when you shoot some flies and you shoot again. While you fight main boss at the end of the game - select pistol, shoot. Dont move. It will take some time but you will win.
Last example - Modern Warfare 2 (probably that was the game). Epic scene while someone finish first mission making one shot in QTE or something like that :| But awsome things happened on the screen.

GAMES =/= INTERACTIVE ANIMATIONS.

If you dont want to put some skills in your game. Go watch fu***** movie. Leave games to people who like GAMES.

Still - market dont care. Money dont care. If it sell good - it will be served. So prepare for more crap. It's comming. Just like food. Who cares about healthy food ? Crappy fastfood sell better.
I dont say that DA II is a crap (i think that by the way). It depend on the point of view. Some people will like DA II and think that TW2 is a crap. Some people will like both games. Some people will think that all of this is crap. Some will prefer TW2. Simple as that.

Here I was talking about whole gaming industry.

That's certainly not how I play DAII. At all. And most certainly not after Patch 1.03. When did you play DAII last? 3 months ago? O_o

I like games. And I like DAII AND TW2. (The rather condescending tone of some TW2 fans is annoying though)

OP: Ignore the immature folks. Glad you liked it.

Personally i quite liked it too, but it wasnt perfect. The waves of enemies, the bland city, lack of other areas, poor story, weak charcters and poor graphics let it down.

Im currently playing through DAO to make a new import and am finding a lot of mechanics tedious and the combat too slow. The more i play it, the more i prefer the DA2 mechanics (other than the above listed). Maybe its just me getting older and annoyed with tedious mechanics i come across, i dont know, but i do find DA2 to be more easily accessable and quicker to play, which i find a good thing.

It was around 04.2011 or 05.2011. Dont remember really. Before patch 1.03 for sure. I didn't buy it at first because of the demo. I canceled pre-order. But after they drop price 50% and throw ME2 for free I bought it.
If I will have time then I will try it. Right now I'm wasting my time with DC Universe Online.

Hope that patch change all this anoying things I saw in this game.

Sure you do, by way of your analogies to dog crap etc. I like DA2 but here's the thing I also like: Xcom/UFO Enemy, Unknown, the Civ games, Dominions, Thief, Deus Ex, Syndicate, Kohan.................. So no it doesn't just appeal to casual gamers, it might appeal to gamers that like playing a certain way but not necessarily casual gamers.

@Morroian, sorry but you just prove mi right. Most of games that you mentioned here are old.

Kohan - last one 2006 ? 5 years
Dominions - last one when... 2006 ? 5 years
Syndicate - 1993... 18 years
Deus Ex - 2000 (dont even mention part 2 :/ it's like DAO and DA II) - 11 years (played)
Thief - last in 2004 - 7 years (played)
Xcom/UFO - last parts are bad. Older are good. When they were release ? around 2000 ? 10 years at least probably (played)
Civ - this one still kicking (played)

So most games you mentioned was sim games and some stealth games that have more than 5 years. That's just prove my point here I think.

Just look at gaming industry now. I'm too old or what ? :| I'm young dam it :P

Ditto.  Loved DAO, but I'm on my third replay of it and I miss all those melee gap closers from DA2 already.

Sorry... after 20 replays with Origins and one more going right now... 5 with DA2 and no way I'm going back there... even the combat in Origins is better... I'm sure you guys all have the "Im kind of big deal" achievement and never dies in NM right? Because my latest 15 chars have zero injuries. My latest 3 in DA2 also never died in NM but it is just a PITA to fight some bosses in the sequel. Boring as whatever you think is really boring. The corrupted spider queen in Origins Deep Roads are more challenging and more fun than any boss fight in DA2.

Now, The Witcher 2 has to be the best game ever... Even the bugs in that game are awesome!!!
