Can I do the GOM (Grumpy Old Man) routine here.. because I just had flashbacks from most of the games in that list, the actually awesome moments in Xcom where you actually felt you were completely screwed or the missions where the aliens attacked a city, and where you sometimes noticed that the alien forces were too much and you decided to minimize the damage the aliens cause by exterminating everything that moves high-explosives and grenades. I miss most of the really difficult missions in the original Thief (and at least to me, they were hard back then.) Deus Ex was almost too awesome to describe it, words fail me, most of the characters, the setting the atmosphere.. oh and civ.. the original civ, that was something (okay, I'll have to admit, I liked CIV2 better than the original, I can remember telling myself that I'll only play one more turn.. maybe still one more..)

Oh they knew how to make good games back then, and they even made real music once upon a time.. (okay, I enjoy some of the music made nowaday but don't tell that to anyone)

 I think, that I wouldn't Call it the "Best game ever". More a case of it being Joint with Dragon Age: Origins plus add ons. Simply for the fact DLC hasn't been released yet, but both have amazing qualities in character interaction, story line and game play.

I think it's very far from "best game ever". For me, it's just a plain good game with very serious flaws.

But I suppose I can understand peoople who is attracted to this kind of new gameplay (I prefer Mass Effect 2 over the first one, for example)

But, aside from that... what about the notorious flaws like map re-use and absurd wave system? For me, those things alone make this game not worth of such praise.

Well ME was more of a shooter with RPG elements. So it's natural for you to like ME2 because this games is even more a shooter. Last part if I see correct will be just Gears of War with dialogues. So it's should be fine.

But when ME score points, DA loose it. Just because they take good RPG and try to put Shepard in it. And they failed. It's avarage. Some people can think it's good. But best game ever ? Hell... Mario Bros was better

I don't understand how anyone can find this game to be the "Best game ever!" 

The game is mediocre at best, and I couldn't play it after a first playthrough. It was clearly rushed, and if flopped, simple.

Whether it's me or someone else doesn't matter. Imagine this:

My former roomie hates the entire DA franchise and thought BG was a boring clunker of a game. She prefer the Might & Magic Series. She thinks that the entire illusion of choice in them (DA) is unrealistic nonsense.

We still get along just fine even though she hates my fave game series. Because we respect each other's opinions. Shocking, I know.

I'm happy you and your roommate got along, it's hard to find decent people to live with durring college. But I have no idea what your trying to say with the rest of that story unless your asking to move in.

Ok, I don't think its the worst game ever, maybe not even one of the worst games ever.

But seriously? Best game ever? Well if you honestly believe that, good for you.

But wow, there are a lot of games that have come and gone over the years that are being thrown to the wayside for DA2 to be called Best Game Ever.

 though I wouldnt say best game ever... I don't get all the hate for DA 2... the only real issues I had  with the game is the waves of enemies and the whole being limited to kirkwall (too short as well but at least it didn't drag on)... I mean everything else was an improvement, the story telling was spectacular, the combat was actually FUN (come on, can you honestly say that combat in origins was fun to play?), and the ending ties both hawke and the warden's story together somehow.  (Flemeth is a manipulative ****)

mass effect 1 had much worse re-use of areas then dragon age 2 and at least it somewhat makes sense with dragon age 2 because you actually are going to the same areas.

Who are "all people"? It doesn't matter how many people think it's bad, it doesn't give you carte blanche to be a child.

For me, of course DA2 has many flaws and somehow it is annoying.

But that doesn't mean that there is no good at all. I still like many things about the game, and those things dominate the flaws that I feel. Maybe you and me, we don't share the same opinions, for me, it is still a good game to enjoy.

When people complain about it, we shouldn't consider it is a bad thing, unless it received too much negative reviews from over all the community. And of course it is not in this case! Even the critics, maybe they don't consider this is the great game, but still praise it. If you are people who follow the extremism, maybe this game is not for you, and you have been missed the enjoyable time the game can provide you.

For me and the other people who still feel that this is the good game, we will still have a plenty of fun with it before the new series come out. Of course we don't want to interrupt the story line of Dragon Age saga until the next sequel come, aren't we?

May be on some abstract scale DA2 isn't great, I honestly don't care.

I know only that I have lots of fun replaying it. I enjoy combat and characters and deliberately non-epic storyline and many other things in DA2. Of course it has flaws (every game has). But it's still a very good game.

glad you enjoyed it OP , it's certainly not my best game ever but i enjoyed it alot myself . DAO and ultima 7 still my favourite RPG's.
