Since we're talking about music, I can't help it but whenever I listen to Nine Inch Nails - We're in this together I have to think about the Shep-Jack romance.
Funny, maybe its because its one of my favorite songs. :D

Here's another. It reminds me of what it must've been like for her to trust and be betrayed over and over again. That, and this is what I imagine a prison in space being.

I could also see this as a space prison in the future...

I think Shikhee's got a theme with her videos.

Since I'm more of a instrumental player and listener, that will influence what I believe Jack would listen to. Mondo actually wrote a little scene a while back between Jack and Kasumi, which involved Jack playing around with these electric nodes or something and she would bend them to a certain note and basically make music with it. I just picture something really soft and gentle because to me, music really brings out your inner self or another side of you, so I can imagine something relating to her "softer" side. If that made any sense, if you want I could find the blog and post it here, to clarify.

Ah, my favorite band. You can rest assured I've come to the same conclusion in the past.

On the topic of Lisbeth and Jack, I'm reading The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo again and I've been noticing a lot of resemblance between the two characters, especially with how they approach/deal certain situations. One scene in particular really caught my attention between the two, I believe it's during Chapter 5 where there's a scene in which Lisbeth is reading Blomkvist's novel and she looks at the picture of him and makes a remark, which reminded me of Jack, more so what Jack would of thought of Shepard before even meeting him; seeing a video on the net or advertisements for example. Plus, I wouldn't mind seeing Jack in a casual outfit similar to Lisbeth's, especially since they both rock badass boots, haha.

I've seen people mention a comparison between those two characters before and mention Lisbeths look would work with Jack. It is an interesting idea.

I'm not buying the comparison. Lisbeth is almost catatonic when dealing with people. She's so "different," in how she interacts with people that those around her see her as having some kind of cognitive deficiency. Jack on the other hand is shockingly direct, and forceful with people that they find themselves afraid or unsure of how to contend with her.

When dealing with problems, Lisbeth takes an observational direction, deciding what's the best outcome and how she can achieve it by being more clever than her opposition. Jack has done the same, but when she's personally attacked, she reacts from an emotional place and does what ever is necessary to cause that person and even greater pain.

While they both have minor parallels in their origins, Lisbeth is nowhere close to how forceful, aggressive, and purely angry as Jack is. Not to demean the character, but Lisbeth would seem like a socially awkward thirteen year old next to Jack, and that's coming from someone who's read the book three times and seen both movies several times already.

And now for something a little festive:

Jack: You lose a bet?

Shepard: (sighs) No, its a gift from Kelly. Does it look that bad?

Jack: You go walking down the street wearing a sweater like that and people are gonna know you ain't afraid of anything. Hell, if I didn't know you were such a ****ing softie I'd think twice before messing with you.

Shepard: Thanks, Jack.

Jack: Didn't say it was a bad thing, I like you the way you are.

Shepard in a christmas sweater I'm guessing?

Nicely done by the way.

Haha, nice sly little Firefly reference in there.  :P

It's been a while since I posted in the forums. A couple people might remember me as the artist who made this:

I'm reading the Millenium series and so far I want to kick some people off the cliff. Part of it is localization but mostly because of the bevy of unlikeable characters and lack of proper use of rhetoric - in my opinion. This issue is excaberated in the Swedish films which I had watched in quick succession after seeing David Fincher's version. The Swedish films and Fincher's adaptation take on different interpretations of the book, although I personally found the latter to be much closer in tone and subject matter than the former even with artistic liberties involved.

But on the subject of Jack -

I can understand why some people would think Jack is similar to Lisbeth. They are similar in the way they push people away by setting themselves up to be physically unattractive as possible. They don't look the way they do because they want attention. They believe in being self sufficient and don't trust easily. That's as far as it goes IMO.

Lisbeth in the books undergoes breast augmentation because she has a complex about her physique. Jack just grows her hair out and wears a jacket instead.

Personally, I only watched the first Swedish film and don't plan on watching the sequels because I've heard they seemed rushed and weren't as good as the first. I'm planning on seeing Fincher's take in probably a week or two, so I'm looking forward to that, since he's done great work in the past as well. There's obvious differences with the two characters, but as I stated before there are certain instances where I've read something Lisbeth has said and it just screams Jack, at least for me.

Have you seen the little glimpse of Jack's new look or are you staying spoiler free?

I caught a glimpse of the new Jack when Bioware did the virtual unboxing trailer of the ME3 CE package. Otherwise I'm endeavoring to stay spoiler free.

One Jack-ish line I read from the Millenium novels went like: “Hey, you ****ing creep, in this ****hole I've got a monopoly on that one.”

I just finished coloring this Riddick and Jack pic, I'm so proud of myself!!

http://lovelymaiden....llery/#/d4kibxf

I was thinking of writing a crossover fanfic with the two. Maybe Riddick
is thrown in a parallel universe and ends up in the world of Mass
Effect. Shepard is in the middle of recruiting squad members and Riddick
ends up on his ship. Maybe he's found on purgatory? (since he always
winds up in prisons).

Do you guys have any suggestion/advice?

What about a nickname Jack has for him?

Where would he stay on the ship?

Anyone willing to beta-read my crappy fic?

Just throwing this out there. Happy Holidays!!
