Happy New Year, everyone! I'm counting down the days until Mass Effect 3. For some reason, beginning the New Year makes the release date feel closer.

I drank quite a bit last night, did you guys have fun? I wish hangovers didn't exist.

According to the rumors; our beloved Jack will only be a temporary squad member. Which is a disappointment, if true.

This...sucks.

Many of ME3's temporary squadmates are better off for it, gaining a full-fledged and focused mission that propels the plot forward in a decently meaningful way.

Basically, many former full-timers are getting Lair of the Shadow Broker treatment, which for my money is probably superior to sitting around on the Normandy most of the time with only occasionally-updated dialogue.

I will miss fighting alongside many of them on a routine basis though.

I agree with you. Isn't Mass Effect 3 supposed to have twice as much dialogue as the first game?

Jack HAS to be in there somewhere! ;)

As long as she remains plot relavent I will be okay.  That last part I agree with whole heartedly.  Jack was and will remain one half of the biotically-charged battle couple with my vanguard.

I agree. It's quality over quantity with this thing. They can easily make up for the ~3 conversations she would have on the Normandy as a permanent squadmate by giving her a mission of her own, and something extra for Jackmancers to make up for an extra one convo.

Only thing missing is mission-dialogue since she won't be in the squad. But it's a small price to pay IMO for more meaningful overall role in the game.

Jack also gets mentioned several times outside her mission by various squadmates. Some of those lines are win. ^_^

@Nightfable.

I finally got around to reading it, and its pretty good. His behavior is pretty much what I'd imagine after seeing pitch black and his other two films so many times.

The only thing I read that seemed a bit out of character, is that Riddick calls TIM and Jack by their names. One thing he always does is he gives everyone nicknames. He does it either as a means of playfulness or disrespect. Think back to the Imam played by Keith Davidson (Anderson in ME) he knows his name from the beginning of Pitch Black, but continues to call him "Holy Man" or by his title every time he sees him. He only calls Jack by her name, every body else either gets a nickname or he calls them by their title. He'll also use someone's name if he's right about to kill them.

One thing you got perfect was his patience. Riddick is extremely patient, and can probably sit in a dark corner for hours without moving if it means he wont be seen when he doesn't want to.

But so far, pretty damn good, I'd love to read it once its done.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!! WOOT!! Drawing this for you awesome people here on the forum!! <3 (It's still in progress.)

I wanted to make a "We can do it" poster with ME3 Jack. As you can see I gave her a stylish mohawk. What do you think? The blue biotic fire is just killing me though... I can't seem to get it right.

I was going to add the words: "Tear Cerberus a New One? -- I Can Do It!"

Have to say, ain't too big a fan of the hair style. My personal opinion is that if Jack's gonna have a mohawk it should be just a straight-up...y'know, mohawk. Not too big on the puffed up sorta thing she's got going here. But the drawing itself is epic-level, no denying that.

I don't know, I think the hairstyle works. But even with a different hairstyle I'd say keep the outfit. I love the jacket.

I love the drawing. I thought Jack looks rather awesome in it. As I said I think it would work as her new look.

I was in the same boat waiting for ME2, as I had discovered ME1 just prior to the sequels release. You're lucky that ME4 isn't planned right now, otherwise you would soon find out what its like to wait 2+ years for yourself.

You  know ME 1 is dirt cheap to pick up and play it and ME 2 again you have plently of time before  Me 3 comes to get caught up.

What I did was I got a copy of Jade Empire, and that game is really sucking me in. If they ever make a sequels to it, it might be better than the ME franchise.

Jade Empire is my favorite BW game. Not only did it have excellent gameplay but it also had Nathan Fillion and John Cleese in it.

It turned out a lot better than I expected considering the game play footage I saw. The mechanics and graphics are behind ME1 standards, but I think it runs far better than DA:O. They got a lot of the party banter right, as everyone engages in conversations in the party camp. Also if you're truly interested in Chinese and Japanese feudalistic era culture, you'll feel at home in this game. Also the soundtrack is superb, done by the same guy who scored ME2, Jack Wall.

Hmm... you've piqued my curiosity. I will see if I can find a used copy of Jade Empire. Re-playing Mass Effect 1 is a good idea, but I still have some side-quests to finish in ME2 like the Shadowbroker and Samara's loyalty quest.

By the way, I 've been wondering if Jack minds "sharing" Shepard with other characters. I've noticed that you can make out with Liara after finishing the Shadowbroker and yet still invite Jack in your cabin afterwards. Tali stresses that she doesn't want to share you and that if you want to pursue her you have to end it with Jack first. Is Jack oblivious to all of this going on, or will this bite me in the ass once I play the next game?

... I also couldn't help flirting with Kelly to get her to feed my fish. I feel so guilty, lol! :pinched:
