I loved all of the final communications before the final mission, especially Grunt's made me smile (also the email he wrote was funny.) I was sad at the end because it didn't came to be...
I'm guessing it's Courtenay Taylor, who does Jack's voice over.stefanbw wrote...

I guess that is true, but then again -- they were squadmates. I love Garrus (and Tali) but I didn't like they got to be squadmates even though they have the same chance of dying in ME2 like everybody else...

I'm pretty sure she could have handled that, if not for the fact that she had kids to protect.
And thanks for the heads up about what happens if you get there late. Won't be doing that at ALL, now.

*embarrased* Doh, I was thinking about ingame characters! Courtenay did an amazing job in my opinion, 100 percent Jack, no?
Yeah, Ms. Taylor did a superb job throughout, but I don't know if even she could save that all-too-brief final conversation.

So you don't think that Jack would ever be willing to enter in to a formal relationship with Shepard, even if he were to survive ME3 and dispose of the Reaper threat? She's just not the LI you're looking for if you're in to stuff like that, is what you're saying?
What I *am* saying, is that Jack's "no strings" line doesn't bother me, because I see it as her accepting Shepard as he is, without putting conditions on him or forcing him to choose between her and what he feels he needs to do. (And vice versa, with her and her students.)
Regardless of how things turn out after the war, neither of them is willing to walk away from their current obligations, not even for each other. We're free to headcannon our Shepards and Jack in a lot of different ways, but putting a LI's needs before the needs of the galaxy/her students is not one of them.
And my point about the Liara romance wasn't meant as "Jack doesn't want a white picket fence," it was meant as, "Regardless of what anyone wants, a battle-hardened warrior like Shepard would know he was feeding Liara a line to placate her, because he will always put the galaxy first. I prefer Shepard's relationship with Jack, because he's honest with her about their odds, and she accepts that." Case in point: one of the biggest laments from Liara fans is, "Bioware turned my Shepard into a liar! I promised Liara lots of blue children!"
I'm not saying that Jack doesn't want more long-term, or that Shepard doesn't want more long-term...I just see it as them approaching the relationship honestly. One or both of them may die; they may be different people after the war; stuff happens.
And rather than viewing her "no strings" line as a sign of her hesitancy for intimacy, I choose to see it as a tremendous indication of her growth and maturity. It shows her new confidence, and a willingness to live and love even in the face of uncertainty.
I can respect this view point, honestly... maybe I got the wrong impression about Jack but I always felt that she would/could drop what she was doing to be with Shep. I tried to make excuses for why she wouldn't be there, and I kinda came to the same conclusion you did but there's always that nagging in the back of my head about it... those obligations are EXTREMELY important yes but when you're faced with the end of the galactic civilization two people who, in my opinion, shared something profound and deep like they did in ME2 would not go their seperate ways the way it was portayed in ME3. As I've said before... she would at least sure as hell make sure to say goodbye while on the fleet when Shepard was with them readying for battle. I mean that's the moment where you go "I may die in the next like.. what? 4 hours? I think i'll just sit in my bed alone.."
Maybe it's me being a hopeless romantic...

I dident like the idea that I couldent be with Jack but within the context it made sense. Its war and we both have things that must be done. Now with that said I did feel that the romance was incomplete.
I dont care about not getting a sex scene, thats fine with me. What I did expect was to have a holocall before we assualted earth, when the normandy hooked up with the fleets for example. Wehre you could have a real conversation with Jack where you could both express yourselves..That would have made the whole relationship well rounded for me and it would have made the short convo we got with on earth perfect.

Didn't Epantiras do a fan art of Jack that looked exactly like her redesign months ago?
When i ran into Jack i felt like i saw her new look in one of the fan arts.

I'm not sure what you're looking for here...Premier Bromanov wrote...
Okay, that's fair enough. What do you think she meant by "But if we get out of this alive..."? What do you think she's looking forward to?
It seems pretty obvious to me that Jack would be ecstatic to see Shepard again.
Other than that, I think a more important question is, "What do *you* think she's looking forward to?" Everybody has their own take on it, and I don't see anything in her cameo that precludes a white picket fence if that's where you see it going.
What I *do* see in her cameo is a woman who's finally found self-worth for the first time in her life...self-worth based on her own actions, rather than based on the transient whims of other people who may or may not accept her. Does that mean she doesn't love Shepard? No. It just means she's a healthy person now, and no matter how things turn out with Shepard, she'll continue on her path to redemption.
Think of it this way...if Jack's only sense of worth was tied up in Shepard's love, could you really say that she'd grown as a character? Or would she just be a fortunate victim of circumstance because she finally found "Mr. Right?" That's not real strength...that's co-dependence, and personally, I'm glad she wasn't written that way. I love her character enough to be happy for her.

Man, can you imagine if Shepard and Jack had kids?
"Dad, how'd you meet mom?"
"Well, I was raiding a high security prison facility one day..."

Yeah...the amount of Jack content sucks. All ME2 romancers...all ME2 characters, in fact...were hung out to dry, and that lessens my ME3 experience significantly.Militarized wrote...

But Jack wasn't a popular follower - she was even less popular as a romance. It was pretty much a given that she wasn't going to get a whole lot of screentime. Within the context of that reality, I'm fairly satisfied with what we got, because I love where they took her. They expanded her, but they stayed true to her at the same time.

Just asking for your interpretation of what she said. Not trying to convince you of anything, or trying to get you to admit something. And I completely agree with you. If in ME3 she had been written to be dependent upon Shepard, and attached to him at the hip, it would have been character assassination to say the least. Jack shows her love for Shepard in her own Jack way.

But yeah...that would be a great convo!
Especially since, in my headcannon, it would take place while they're on a family spelunking excursion. (No white picket fences for adrenaline junkies! Sorry, I just don't see it.)

Sounds like a hell of a lot better ending sequence to the game than Pedo-Grandpa calling the kid "My sweet" on the winter landscape.

I agree with the above! My take on it is that Jack will always be very independant -- she knows that Shepard is more than capable of taking care of himself. What I found sweet is that she shows hurt about him leaving for Earth. I would imagine that she accepts her own deep love for Shepard... but, in the back of her mind, is most likely afraid of being heart broken (You can't blame her, with all these other Mass Effect romances tempting Shepard at every corner, lol).
