I was reading the wiki on Jack yesterday to familiarize myself on some details and I found out she was raped in purgatory, and put in cryostasis before Shepard bailed her out. Wow, horrible. I never knew that! >.<

"Eventually she was captured, and imprisoned in the Blue Suns operated prison ship, Purgatory. During her time there, she was attacked by a group of guards and prisoners who raped her, despite her efforts at fighting back. Their victory was short-lived however, as Jack personally murdered every one of her attackers as soon as she healed. The incident led the Warden, eager for the amount of credits Jack could bring him from Cerberus and other buyers, to lock Jack in cryostasis, for both her and others' safety until Shepard's team came to buy her freedom. I want Jack to have her happy ending, she deserves it after all the crap she's been through.

Yeah. She mentions that if she's in your shore party when you walk in to the bathroom of the Dark Star Club on the Citadel. Ms. Taylor's voice-acting was great in that scene. She makes Jack sound distant, angry, and melancholy. Very reasonable reactions. In no way has Jack had an easy life...

First time post here. Huge Jack fan and LI.

Just wanted to drop in and say I'm beyond pissed at how they handled Jack. I loved her new look and attitude but wow 3 scenes? That's a joke. I tweeted the mass effect twitter account like. 5 times saying we need more Jack, be it DLC or whatever but Jack needs a bigger role. They responded with "Shes a cool chick for sure! Thanks for the feed back we will take it in to consideration"

I know it's been said in this thread cause I've read almost every page but why do a character make over and not have her in the game more? Why even bother?

Welcome to the Jackolyte Society, WRXtacy. Also, welcome to our frustration.  Regarding Jack getting a makeover but not being a squadmate, the N7 CE art book kind of hints that she was originally going to be a squadmate, but they didnt decide what to do with her until late, so her squad spot was cut when they made her Professor Jack.

Yeah super frustrating. I think right now my favorite one in the series is ME2. The character development was incredible and to be honest I enjoyed that aspect more than the actual mission of the collectors. It's just stupid in ME2 there was like what 12 squad mates and there is half that in 3, I feel bad for PS3 players who didn't play ME 1 and don't know why Liara is being shoved down their throat. Same for Ash the Barbie doll.

That's interesting. Circa ME2, the Jackolytes were calling Miranda the "Barbie Doll". Wonder if there'd be some attitude between Jack and Ashley, especially where a romance is concerned.

I guess they felt that they ought to give more stuff to people who have been faithful to the ME1 LIs.  The ME1 squadmates who were LIs in ME2 got more stuff, too.

I once imagined an ending where though most of the Reaper capital ships were destroyed, some of the smaller Reapers managed to survive thanks to being on the fringes of space. While the battle is won, the war is not quite over with Shepard promising to find and destroy the rest. Those Reapers on the other hand start acting of their own accord (different Reapers doing different things) and begin manipulating certain weaker species (say Yagh and Raloi) into conquering the Galaxy.

The threat is reduced but they are trying to explot a weakened galaxy. Anyway, as far as Jack is concerned we would see an epilogue (few years later) where Commander James Vega is requesting help from the council (much like Shepard in ME 1) and he has Captain Shepard (replacing Anderson) to back him. As he exits the council chambers, we encounter Jack and the following conversation plays out...

Jack: *drags on her ciggarette* Well if it isn't the king of the boy scouts
Shepard: You know those things will kill you
Jack: *drags again* mmm hmm... First one in a year thanks to you, let me enjoy this. Anyway, what did Beefy McSlamChest want with the Council? 
Shepard: *sighs* Hades Nexus. There have been reports of a Reaper being sighted. And the Raloi who own colony rights there are denying any such thing and discouraging any intervention
Jack: *Laughs sadly* God damn it! It's never over is it...
Shepard: Jack, it's alright. This is just cleanup going on. I made promise and I'm keeping it 
Jack: I'm coming!
Shepard: *serious and concerned* No. I can't take that risk. Plus, what about...
Jack: *cuts him off* Try and stop me. This is my fight too. Plus, *smiles* Headmaster Sanders can play babysitter. Not to mention that I'm technically an Alliance Hero and can do whatever the hell I want  
Shepard: *Laughs* Report to docking bay D24... Mrs Shepard
Jack: Hey! you promised never to call me that!  

Then they go off with Shepard narrating the very first Mass Effect trailer , "Many decisions lie ahead. None of them easy." Roll credits....




Thoughts? Opinions? In character or too out of character for Jack?

They cut the Prothean out into DLC even though he was originally part of the main story. (can't argue this anymore, it's been leaked by that new documentary and old beta info I have on my computer). I wouldn't be surprised if information came to light that had more scenes for Jack that were cut from the main script to be turned into DLC.

I think that we will get more of Jack eventually because they wouldn't invest resources in new look just for 3 short scenes.

But how about making some noise about Jack? As BW said they made Garrus and Tali as possible LI just because many fans wanted it. Same was with Liara DLC - they did it because many people demanded it.

Now thread about Jack have 155 pages and it's very small amount if we compare it with other female characters:
Miranda 1710
Ashley 860
Liara 800
Tali 800

They may fell that Jack is not that important for BW fans .

Jack's not as easy to like as the other s/s LIs. Romancing her involves enduring a certain amount of abuse, and some people just don't want to deal with that when looking for love for their Shepard.  Hell, just being her friend involves enduring a certain amount of abuse.  If you play FemShep, you get little ME2 content with Jack, because she has that early cut-off. Jack's beauty is unorthodox, so there's that. I've heard people complain that Jack is annoying, and since they're forced to recruit her, they get her killed in the suicide mission so they won't have to deal with her in ME3.

Maybe Bioware did make use of the ME2 data it tracked from its players, and decided that the Jack romance wasn't worth more than 5 lines and a Paragon interrupt. Sucks for us.

Yeah, I know that she is not that easy to like. Most of people like nice and charming characters. It's pity because there was much more emotions and complexity in this romance. For me it was the only romance that actually developed character in some way.

I still think that they have some plans about her. She is the only side character that was redesigned, and making a new character model from a scratch is kinda time consuming. Of course they already had face model and some textures but it still was an effort. For example in case of Miranda and Jacob they even used old Cerberus uniforms. They just removed Cerberus logo.

I don't really expect her to be a companion, I just expect more "stuff" to be added in. I could be wrong, but it's just what I expect.

I don't feel like they will add more stuff about side characters. As we know BW don't make free DLC, and it's not that good material for a paid DLC. Maybe we will see more developed ending with explanation about what happened to them after ending but nothing more.

I bet that if they will add something about any character it will a new companion DLC. It would be insta buy for many people that miss some old characters. I know that I would pay for a such DLC about Jack even if it would be rip off. I think that Miranda has biggest chances for it.

In ME2 after knowing all the **** she went through growing up and how hard she was, seeing her soft side after romancing her was a nice side to see. I'm glad it carried over in ME3, but not to include her in more of the game, that was damn disappointing.

Abuse probably isn't the right word.  Hostility is better.  Though, maybe "abuse" properly describes what Jack's detractors call their interactions with her.

First time poster, long time player and Jack fan from the first conversation.

I've been following this thread for a bit and just wanted to chime in and say that I'm a bit disappointed that being a renegade in ME2 had no effect on Jack in ME3. Seeing her mature is great, don't get me wrong but deep down I think I would have liked to see her overseeing a pirate fleet. Am I alone in this thought?
