I'd love to read it.

How did their relationship change after Arrival? Was Jack just starting to get more comfortable with Shepard? Was Shepard slightly pulling away, becoming more distant, or vague whenever anyone brought up anything about the future? Did he tell her what he planned on doing and they argued about it? Did he send everyone off on Omega for groceries and then hightail it out of there, leaving only a note?

Did she try to contact him while he was locked up? Did she search the news for mentions of him? How long was it until the Alliance hit her up for teaching at Grissom academy? What did she do in the mean time?

Questions. Need. Any. Answers. Now.

"Things Whispered In The Dark" deals with this, kind of.  I'm not up-to-date on it, but in the interim between ME2 and ME3, Jack leaves Shepard.  She vanishes in to Omega.  She leaves him not because she no longer loves him, but because she is still insecure.  She still can't believe that she's found somewhere she belongs, she can't believe she's found someone who loves her, she can't believe she actually feels better about herself.  The self-doubt eats at her, and it tears her apart.  While this breaks my heart, I think it's still reasonable.  Shepard hasn't "fixed" Jack.  He's only helped her.  The rest is on Jack.  That fic is still being updated, so Jack's not out of the picture.

As for the rest of what you mentioned, we can only speculate.

Oh, I read that one, and thought it was great up until the part where she left. I thought it ended there, didn't know it was still being updated...

She doesn't.  I don't think they can include any killable squadmates in the comics, because it'd establish canon.

Some comics take place before suicide mission. For example Miranda show up in some comics. That's why I asked.

I believe they said they would, though. They'd be doing comics for every squadmate, regardless if they lived or died, to show how they got to be where they were in ME3.

I dunno, that's what I assumed when I read it.

Oh, really?  When did they say this?  I think the Aria comic is the current comic.  I assumed they were doing that because of the rumored DLC to re-take Omega.

I'm not exactly sure, but I believe they were naming the series of comics Mass Effect: Homeworlds. They said they'd be doing comics for all squadmates with that, but I can't find the place where I originally read it.

So far, they've got one planned for Vega, and another one for Tali. So here's hoping they do one for Jack.

Why do comics for vega? Imo he was useless. So out of place in the me universe. But honestly I love this thread it keeps me entertained while I'm at work. I'm really pulling for some li based dlc or missions I need my jack fix. I don't understand why they would make such an intruiging deep and emotional character such as jack just to S*** on her in me3 I feel like I got to know so much about her past and her problems and I helped as much as I could only to get no closure at the end.

So I FINALLY just beat ME3, even after picking it up at midnight release. I loved the game, the scope was epic and felt so intense. I even like the ending (although I was slightly confused). But man, the Jack romance, what a total letdown/fail. The beginning was so promising when you meet her at Grissom, and I was totally stoked. And it just went down hill from there... so disappointed she basically got ignored. I understand there's like so much one company can do, and they have to choose where to focus, but it's lame some romance options got the star treatment and others got totally shafted. Lame sauce to the max. And that end video chat thing was awul. You'd think that the person you're in a relationship in would have a little more to say before the galaxies' impending doom. :[

Yeah for me it's biggest issue too. Even bigger than ending. I liked series before I met Jack, but I started to love ME franchise after I met Jack. I will be very disappointed if there won't be a DLC that will fix it.

I'm not in the habit of obsessing over LIs to the point that I'd wonder how they smell, but I've resumed reading "Things Whispered In The Dark", and the author mentions several times that Jack has a unique smell.  Her smell is leather, sweat, gun cleaner, gunpowder, and ozone.  I really like that last one.  Ozone is the smell a human biotic gives off, because of the excessive static electricty that builds up in the body.  That's a nice touch.  I kind of remember Mondo being the first person to mention that this is Jack's "smell".

I see the post-campaign dlc sigs. F that man! They should edit in a romance scene in the story. They left out alot..

Haha no argument there. It's a bit of a double point. I'm also trying to give a gentle nudge to fix the endings.

Yeah, but it doesn't sound specific to Shepard, if that makes sense.  She sounds completely unconcerned that Shepard may die.  It makes it sound like if Shepard dies, she'll grab just any soldier she can find and have her way wtih him.  No mourning period.  As I mentioned before, the last time Jack was worried that Shepard might die, she came to him and poured out her emotions at him.  Nothing like that this time.

Coping mechanism? Oooh! ook at me! I am the ultimate biotic badass ****!
I won't be tied down by no man who wants to make a house-wife out of me!
I'm a rebel! Fight the power, don't conform to the ways of the man! Be different!

It sounds stupid but maybe Jack wants to think she's ONLY a badass biotic **** and there is NO tender, loving, sweetness inside her and she does NOT want to lay in the arms of Commander Shepard while licking his deliciously perfect body. She's never been hurt or broken, guys would kill to be with her. She wants to blow up merchant ships NOT make babies with some Alliance hero!

For the first time in her life Jack feels normal. She does NOT want to be normal. Normal is dangerous. Crazy is good.

Do you really think that Jack doesn't want at all to feel normal?  Or, do you think it's something she really wants, and she only tells herself that she doesn't want to feel normal?  Do you think she wants to feel normal, but only when no one is watching, so that she can be "normal" with him?  Do you think she wants to feel normal, but only when no one is watching, so that she can be "normal" for him?

Lmao deliciously perfect body..that may be so but I think given what's happend to her and how she is it'd be hard to adjust to a 'normal' life. We can all agree shepard isn't too normal himself. Adjusting to a life where you need to tame the rebel inside would be difficult for anyone let alone a super biotic psychopath. And I'm sure she wants to make changes yes. And she has to grow up which imo she has to an extent. But she still has that wall to shepard because she is still emotionally vaunerable. You can change the look and the attitude but I'm sure she still could be coming to terms with feelings she has withheld for so long. So I feel that I just want to get laid line is as close as you can get to an i love you. For now at least..

I'm bad with words. Could someone here write out an offical statement as to why the Jack romance in Me3 is bad? I think it's a good idea if it hasn't been done and it would make me feel better

There's not enough emotion.  There's not enough time with Jack.  There's no alone time with Jack.  The total difference between all Jack friendship dialogue and all Jack romance dialogue is five lines and a Paragon interrupt.  Everyone gets to dance with Jack, but dancing with her when she's romanced grants the Paramour achievement, which is almost insulting.  Something is off with the voice direction, and not even Ms. Taylor could save it.  Jack is apathetic about Shepard possibly dying, when the last time he risked dying, she came to him to pour out her emotions at him.  Jack is apathetic about Shepard choosing to break up with her, and no dialogue afterward acknowledges her feelings of hurt, disappointment, anger, or betrayal.  Shepard sounds completely uninterested in Jack.  The Jack romance feels empty.  It feels like it was given token treatment only.

perfect. Exactly how I feel

I agree with all of this and I think it extends beyond the romance. I don't think this writer understood what made Jack work. Jack wasn't interesting simply because she had an abrasive personality. She was interesting because she was an emotionally complex person that protected herself with an abrasive personality.

Writers should understand there needs to be some sort of character connect. A way for players to bridge the gap between the character and themselves. With Jack's characterization being hollowed out, only leaving that abrasive shell, I felt ME3 was a great disservice to one of the better characters in the series.

Has anyone else realized once Drew Karpyshyn input in this series started to dwindle more over time the writing started to go down hill little by little. Or is it just me?
