Has anyone else realized once Drew Karpyshyn input in this series started to dwindle more over time the writing started to go down hill little by little. Or is it just me?

No fortunately not and hopefully the people that matter take note.

Just today I was thinking about how he should've been the one to do the Deception noval. And seeing how it turned out... perhaps it should've been a warning

I'm bad with words. Could someone here write out an offical statement as to why the Jack romance in Me3 is bad? I think it's a good idea if it hasn't been done and it would make me feel better

There's not enough emotion.  There's not enough time with Jack.  There's no alone time with Jack.  The total difference between all Jack friendship dialogue and all Jack romance dialogue is five lines and a Paragon interrupt.  Everyone gets to dance with Jack, but dancing with her when she's romanced grants the Paramour achievement, which is almost insulting.  Something is off with the voice direction, and not even Ms. Taylor could save it.  Jack is apathetic about Shepard possibly dying, when the last time he risked dying, she came to him to pour out her emotions at him.  Jack is apathetic about Shepard choosing to break up with her, and no dialogue afterward acknowledges her feelings of hurt, disappointment, anger, or betrayal.  Shepard sounds completely uninterested in Jack.  The Jack romance feels empty.  It feels like it was given token treatment only.

perfect. Exactly how I feel

I agree with all of this and I think it extends beyond the romance. I don't think this writer understood what made Jack work. Jack wasn't interesting simply because she had an abrasive personality. She was interesting because she was an emotionally complex person that protected herself with an abrasive personality.

Writers should understand there needs to be some sort of character connect. A way for players to bridge the gap between the character and themselves. With Jack's characterization being hollowed out, only leaving that abrasive shell, I felt ME3 was a great disservice to one of the better characters in the series.

Well said, I agree.

Didn't Patrick Weekes said he wasn't too fond of Jack's character?

Was that him? I could've sworn it was someone else who said that Jack was a person they despised in real life..

I was looking through the old Jack thread, and I found a post with a link to a page that doesn't exist anymore. Patrick Weekes said that he doesn't like Jack's character, but that, in ME2, at least, characters were written by more than one person. So, if that's still true, it wouldn't be fair to pin anger about Jack's treatment in ME3 on him alone.

Patrick is a great writer, the reason he didn't like her was because she was written well and he was able to relate from personal experience, at least that's the way I view it. If you think about it, there's people like her everywhere in the world and they tend to attract certain type of people, while turning away other people.  People like her tend to ****** off people and I don't blame him for not liking her attitude and such.

What type of people do they attract?  Their ilk?  What type of people do they turn away?  Boy Scout Sheaprds?

Why on earth would you put a writer on a character that openly said they didnt like the character? I think that more than anything blows my mind.

Guys. Just shut up about it. This is old history that does not need to be dug up here.

The last thing we need is Jack being miserable and angry for another game. She's finally found a place to belong, even if she didn't intend to stay for a while, and she's doing whatever she can for those kids.

Sure, there's no smexy times with Jack and perhaps that's a goddamn shame, But hey, she still loves you.

Jack being so distant with Shepard actually makes sense with her personality. She's good at keeping people out and that's not a habit that goes away quickly.

I finished the story today, I think more than the end the thing that most disappointed me(in a game I otherwise loved) was the lack of Jack. I was really looking forward to seeing her again and continuing the relationship I'd built in ME2. She is absolutely one of my favourite NPCs in any game.
I have no problem with what she does, I just feel there wasn't enough of it. I'd like to have seen just a little more between her and Shephard. The comm chat at the end was nice, but I'd have appreciated some more scenes that dug a little deeper and gave us more.

Hi, axl.

You don't think encouraging Jack to be violent in ME2 should have affected her in ME3?  You don't think that the Jack material we received was at all meager?

Its the lack of her character in the game I disliked the lack of dialogue. Hell you had more physical contact in 3 than you did 2 but personally id have rather had the conversation than the kissing sessions.

100 percent. Likely well have a DLC (only worth purchasing if they fix the ending) that will elaborate and explore in depth the ME2 romances in much greater depth and detail. We can hope at least.

Totally different note, does anyone know if theres a compilation of Jack's dialogue from ME2? I've only found the Renegade Sex Scene dialogue (God why is that EVERYWHERE!?). I'd like to know if someone put it together or not.

I've got a few compliments and seen another person actually even using my sig (**** yeah) so I thought I'd share.

It's a two piece sig. Just stack one part on top of the other for the desired effect.
