Marriage? Jack? Nah. Marriage is an expression of love, but Jack's expression of love for Shepard is too informal for marriage. Doesn't mean she loves him any less, of course.

My poor romantic heart, you guys are killing me! Hahaha! Alright, I'll remove the word marry from this story -- I'll find another way.

How's this?

It had been a perfect day for her, she would have never imagined shore-leave could be so enjoyable. They had found a seat at a little cafe, overlooking the beautiful view of sparkling water and trees at the Presidium.

Shepard’s eyes were glinting as he handed her a tall box, “This is for you.”

“Quit spoiling me, Shepard! You’re making me soft, you know that?”

Grinning from ear to ear Jack unwrapped the box and pulled out a brand new sniper rifle she had been eying earlier. With admiration, she meticulously examined it from end to end.

Shepard gave her an endearing smile, the small laughter lines visible at the corner of his eyes; his irises were alight with a fire she hadn’t noticed before.

“Do you like it?” he added, followed by a heavy silence.

She pulled Shepard by the collar roughly over the table and kissed him senseless.

When the kiss was finally broken for air, they were both flushed and breathing heavily.

“I'll take that as a yes.”

Chapter two of my fic is posted in on my blog page for anyone interested. Feedback and comments are always appreciated. I know I don't post much but I don't really have much else to say that hasn't already been said. However, I lurk endlessly and even though I don't express my thoughts in writing I share many of the thoughts that other posters have, and hopefully we'll all get that quality time with Jack we all want. Peace-out till next time Jackolytes.

And fable, that is awesome! :3

I could see Jack and Shepard getting married...at some point down the line...but I think she'd do it mostly just to appease him, and maybe for the amusement of it. Like, if he asked and badgered her about it, she'd go along with it, but that's about it.

No big ceremony or anything though, just the basic signing a piece of paper that says you're married now. Hell, as captain of a ship Shepard might even be able to make it happen himself. I don't know how that works in space.

That makes sense Padt, I will go with something more suttle, less formal -- and further down the line in my story.

BTW, what's the name of that sniper rifle Jack is holding in the ME3 art book?

I think I had an idea where Jack and shep get married...it went something like this:

They are on omega, and Aria T'Loak is marrying them.

Aira: We don't have much time, so let's get this over with. Dearly beloved we are gathered here to blah blah blah. Skipping the boring stuff. Alright lady, you want him?

Jack: Sure, why not. (Jack smiles.)

Aria: And Shepard, you want her?

Shepard: Sure, why not. (Shepard returns the smile.)

Aira: Then, by the power vested in me by absolutely nobody, I now pronounce you bondmates...or whatever the hell you humans call yourselves. You may now get the hell off my station, the cruise liner leaves in 5 minutes.

They procede to walk away from Aria, shouldering their luggage. Aria shouts as they walk away.

Aria: And stay away from the gambling tables the first few nights! It's not going to be pretty!

Jack: Hell yeah, sounds like fun.

See, I could see something like this. Very casual and almost mocking in tone. Just get it out of the way so they can go shoot some people and/or have sex somewhere.

I'm just gonna leave this here.

----------

"F*ck you mean there's nothing left?"

"There's nothing left. No food. No drinks. You can't expect us to account for everyone after this war!"

"Why don't you do your f*cking job, and maybe you could."

"There's nothing left, miss. Be thankful you got something before we ran
out of supplies."

"It's not for me, ******. It's for the guy in intensive care. You know, the one made sure you'd still breathing long enough to f*ck up? You mean to tell me you stupid sons of b*tches didn't think about sending HIM food?"

"We're doing...What we can. The Commander's just going to have to wait a little longer."

-----

Jack spoke in whispers. Her students were not far from her in the makeshift cafeteria set up to provide rations for the soldiers that survived the war in London. Those who were fed and rested were sent where they were needed to salvage working tech, account for any survivors, and retrieve any food they could. The process was fast, given the still active ships that survived the energy surge, but recruiting supplies for every race stranded on Earth was a difficult one.

"Whoa, whoa." A familiar voice called. "What's going on here?"

Jack turned to find Dorian, a man she hadn't seen for same number of months Shepard spent incarcerated, encased in Alliance armor. He had grown a full beard, which very nearly covered the tattoo on his neck. A Vindicator laid firmly in his palms, locked on safety to keep from accidentally firing on friendlies.

"Dory?" Jack said, confused. "I thought you were o--"

"Mindoir?" Dorian said, cutting her off. "Nah. I quit the lounge not long after you and Shepard left. I was on the Fifth Fleet when the Reapers hit."

"You're sh*tting me."

"I wish. I don't know, guess Cerberus sacking the colony hit home. You can't stand by when **** crumbles. You know, not when you can do something about it."

"Right." Jack said, nodding in agreement, somewhat. "How come I never saw
you on the field?"

"...Because I was serving on the fleet?"

"You don't get scars like that serving on a f*cking fleet, Dory." Jack motioned toward the gash on his chestplate. Dorian freed a hand to inspect it, and recollected the time where it was given.

"Oh, right. My unit got blindsided by a group of Brutes and a Banshee."

"Damn. You took em out?"

"...We lost a lot of men."

"Huh. Tough ******."

"Tough..." Her answer took him by surprise. And it angered him.

"Ok, Jack." Dorian said, and cocked his head towards her students. "You see those kids over there?"

"Yeah, I see 'em."

"Now picture them getting their insides ripped out by a husk Asari, or hurled out of ten story buildings by nine hundred pound monsters. Then imagine having to do a casualty check and finding five Cannibals chewing on your best friend's liver."

The thought was equivalent to Jack's answer in invoking anger.

"But that didn't f*cking happen, now did it?" Jack snapped, quietly.

"I don't expect you feel what I feel, girl. I'm asking that you understand that I'm a little pissed off about it. You would be, too."

There was no refuting that; if any harm came the kids under her care, she knew she'd wouldn't be as 'calm' about it as Dorian was. She glanced over to them, contemplating keeping them under watch when she returned to Shepard. With the Reapers destroyed, it would seem that the effort was no longer needed. But recovery from this would not come without trial and error.

In her mind, she saw the aftermath of the war as rehabilitation. The state of Earth was similar to someone on drugs. Both of them were going to suffer from withdrawals, and it was only how they chose handle it that would determine if they would relapse. Jack wasn't going to see that relapse happen. It would hurt her kids at best. And kill them -- and Shepard -- at worst.

"You still didn't tell me what was up with you and the rations guy." Dorian said, breaking Jack from her thoughts.

"Assh*le's saying we're out of food. Shepard hasn't eaten yet."

"He's a soldier. He'll pull through."

"Yeah." Jack said, and shrugged. "Oh, he's a biotic, too."

"Wait, what?"

"Something about something going wrong when they were jumpstarting his ass in a Cerberus station. Look, the point is, he's probably gonna spaz out in a few minutes."

"Have a little faith, girl." Dorian said, trying to reign in her frustration. "He's been through worse."

"Yeah, thanks for the vote of confidence, but he took a f*cking Reaper beam to the face just a few hours ago. So excuse me for not having a lifted spirit right now."

"Reaper...Wait, DIRECTLY?"

"...Yes, Dory. He just stood there and ate the damn thing."

"You don't have to get snippy." Dorian said, shaking his head. "I have some of my people get on it. Speed things along."

"That's it?"

"It's the best I can do, if we don't have anything. I mean, I got a week-old Snickers bar, if you think that'll help."

Although he tried, it didn't come off as being helpful to Jack.

"Keep it." She said. "God knows what will happen if you go without chocolate."

"I'm trying to help, girl."

"Yeah." She replied, and brushed past him. "Yeah."

As much as she tried to keep the conversation out of earshot of her students, they heard the entire thing. Yet none of them were eager to confront her about the situation. Not until she began to leave. At the last moment, Jason stood up from the table at which all the other students sat, and caught Jack just as she reached the door.

"Ma'am, wait." He called.

"What?"

"If the Commander needs food...We were talking, an--"

"No."

"We want to help, ma'am. We've got too much food anyway."

"I don't want you crying to me when it turns out you wanted it."

"We already got it covered, ma'am."

As if it were on cue, Rodriguez approached the two of them with a plastic plate filled with the rations gathered from all of the students. None of them wanted to say anymore than they wanted to help. Even when they knew their teacher had a relationship with the man that saved them all. But the despite their cautioning, Jack knew that they knew. There was no point in bringing it up.

"Alright, give me the damn box." She relented, and Rodriguez obliged, placing the box in Jack's hands. Both of the students nodded, and proceeded to retire to their seats.

"Hey, Prangley? Rodriguez?" Jack called after them, stopping both in their tracks. They turned their attention back to their mentor.

"Thanks." Jack said, and nodded herself, before retreating down the hallway that led to Shepard's room.

-----

James found it hard to think of things that he lost. He was without reason as to why that was. As such, he stared blankly at the scarred, cold floor, painted briefly by blood of every color; something of a grim rainbow.

The scruff he gained during his time on Mindoir was slowly coming back to him. He felt pain whenever he moved, but mostly nothing he couldn't soldier through. The only thing of note was the sudden increase of weight in his body, and the subsequent difficulty in moving some of his limbs; no doubt the result of rendering the Reaper code in his body inert. This would make it harder to move in the days to come. What little hope he had left went into believing simple physical therapy would work. There was only one way to confirm
that.

Unfortunately, Jack entered the room before he got the chance to do so.

Shepard caught her presence as quickly as he did the last time, but did not speak. She slightly lifted the box, prompting Shepard to look towards it.

"Hungry?" Jack asked, and paced towards him slowly.

"Thought we were out." Shepard asked, confused.

"We are. My guys pitched in."

"Ah, no. That's not necessary, I can go a fe--"

"Shepard."

Jack nudged him with the box.

"Shut up and eat."

Relenting, Shepard sat up, and accepted the box, which was placed upon his lap. Jack sat at his side, watching him as he began to eat.

"How you feeling?" She asked.

"Heavy." Shepard replied.

"Bit more specific?"

"I feel like I gained fifty pounds. I feel like this bed is a damn magnet. I fee--"

"You feel fat. Got you."

"No. Heavy." Shepard explained. "The synthetics in my body is weighing me down more than it used to. It's harder to move."

This fact was evidenced by Shepard's difficulty in raising his right arm above his waist. He resorted to tearing the plastic covering his first food choice from that position.

"The upside is that I don't feel as much pain in those parts, strangely. Can't really complain about it."

He took a bite out of the unwrapped artificial food, and savored the taste of it as much as he could. Rations were worth their weight in gold; it would have been wise to save what he could. But his thoughts were elsewhere.

"Thank you." Shepard said.

"Tch, you should be thanking the kids." Jack said, cocking her head towards the door.

"Not for the food." Shepard corrected. "For not running away."

"You thought I was just gonna leave you?"

"God knows I gave you a hell of a lot a reasons to. Truth be told, I'm surprised you didn't kill me sooner."

"Eh. Day's still young."

Shepard laughed, but only as much as the pain would allow.

"Seriously, though. I appreciate it...But I don't want you babysitting me. If it ever comes to the point where you have to carry me aro--"

"Shepard, if you even THINK about finishing that sentence..."

"I don't want to be a burden, Jack."

"F*ck you!" Jack spat. She jabbed a finger into chest, albeit lightly. "You're not gonna throw this sh*t on me. You're gonna get better. And you're gonna do it cause I f*cking said so."

"Jack."

"No. You didn't get your ass shot by a Reaper and save the galaxy to come back and tell me you ain't worth the effort. You wouldn't be if you quitted me. But you didn't."

Jack scoffed, and shook her head. "We both survive this sh*t, and it's only NOW that you start having doubts..."

"I didn'--"

"No. You didn't. My turn to tell you; You're not getting rid of me that easy. Besides..."

Jack jabbed the commander's jaw lightly.

"I'm all you've got."

Jack leaned forward, and planted a kiss on Shepard's forehead. This amused Shepard.

"You know, I'm not too hurt to take a straight up kiss."

That caused a wide grin to form across Jack's face. A small laugh escaped her lips, as she leaned in again.

"Well why didn't you say so?"

The two locked into a deep kiss, and Shepard pulled her on top of him, accidentally spilling the contents inside of the plastic box on the floor.

"Ah sh*t." Shepard uttered into between kisses.

"Screw it, it's all wrapped, anyway." Jack reassured him, and followed with another kiss.

The two were dangerously close to suffocating before they parted lips again.

"Don't start something you can't finish, ******." Jack teased, playfully.

"Hey. Jennifer."

"What'd you call me?"

"You heard me."

Jack rolled her eyes. "You know my name, Shepard."

"Sure I do...Jenny."

"If you ever want to get me in that Alliance uniform, you better start calling me right."

"Heh, copy that."

"Copy that...?"

"Jack."

"There we go."

i couldn't get down with that blue stuff.. maybe im a wierdo for not diggin the alien babes in a sci fi game, i usually went ash, then me2 came along and it blew any chance she had at ol rough tumbler shepard out the window.
jack was the second character in my entire life of playing video games that i can honestly say i developed a crush on. (first being tifa ff7) but in my post maaaany many pages ago i wish they would let us give gifts to our li's nothing fancy like its been said im sure jack wouldnt like flowers but maybe the gesture? interesting back and forth it would give im sure.. we could find something ive heard mention of a shotgun but i think cerberus heads on a platter would do equally well.

Yeah, I was annoyed by this. I know that last time Shepard have seen Jack in Purgatory and whole scene took only 3 minutes. On other hand Liara had around 20 minutes of cutscenes but he should still remember that there is someone else more important for him ;).

I just hope that they will fix this.

My dream DLC would be:
-Jack as companion
-Improved romance by at least two additional hanging around scenes + final love scene.
-Additional mission about her
-She in final flashback instead of Liara

We deserve this as this is final game. I want to have a chance for a proper farewell with my favorite female character in video games history (because I doubt that we will see her ever again in any ME game). 10 minutes are not enough to do so.

I can pay 1200 BW points for this or even more (Just suggested 1200 because it's highest amount of BW points that they wanted for DLC so far). ;)

I can't help it, I'm too much of a romantic. My Shepard is realizing that he doesn't want to lose Jack and in the wake of the galaxy's destruction, the thought of marriage is giving him a promise of hope -- even though the odds are against them. This is ME3 jack, so she has grown in some ways. That's why I thought it possible.

Just finished reading both chapters. Very well done and thumbs up for the emotional aspects. Can't wait for the next installments!

If we are posting a wish list for Jack DLC. Here is mine.

First and foremost making her a full Squadmember shortly after Grissom Academy. Since that's obviously what it takes to make a proper romance out of a Shepard x LI relationship.

Concerning dialogue options I want the same kind of attention Javik had (or more of course). He had a lot of dialogue. Nothing like Zaeed or Kasumi where none of them had a real cutscene outside of recruiting them or their Loyalty Mission.

Or better yet, though I doubt I'll get it, give Jack the same level of attention Liara got in ME3. Since Liara's the one who got the most romance attention compared to every other LI available.

A bonus outfit like every other Squadmember got.

Replace Liara with Jack in the flashback scene in the ending (if you romanced Jack).

I don't necessarily need a mission specific to Jack IF I get all of the above.
edit - We already have Grissom Academy in any case.

I would pay money for this. Anything more specific I trust the writers to decide what's best for Jack's character. They've done no wrong except for sidelining her for the majority of ME3.

Ok guys, as I mentioned earlier I have plan to send package to BioWare HQ. There will be few fan arts about Jack inside + letter that will look like Datapad with requests from fans for DLC.

So everyone can post few lines that will explain why devs should make a DLC about Jack. It will be great if it will be explained in creative or funny way. I already made few phrases so if you have no good idea but you wanna show your support, just tell me.

First is already made by Premier Bromanov.
"Every Boy Scout needs his Jack. That's why I'm asking for more of Ms. Nought. Jack as a squadmate!"

I will send it probably on Monday (maybe later if artists ask for more time).
