Meh, they messed up Miranda. They went for Yvonne, and got her ugly sister. With Jack, she has a haircut that's more traditionally suited for either a male or a lesbian, so your John's and Jane's aren't going to like that. Add to that her body tattoos, repulsive clothing, and bad attitude, and I understand why people would think she's ugly. Her face is gorgeous, but with my previous statement it's easy to see past that and never talk to her to see who she is. And I know that discovering what Jack was all about made her physically and emotionally more appealing to me. Can't really explain why, maybe just the familiarity with anyone you can also relate to is enough.

Attractiveness is, frankly, the ability to attract. With specimens like Miranda who will remain nameless, is it possible someone's unattractive personality can detract from their physical attractiveness? I swear it's true.

Yes, and someone's physical appearance can affect your perception of their personality, especially when we're talking about first impressions, and prejudice.  People saw the shaved head, the tattoos, the curious clothing and general lack-of-stereotypical-feminity, and thought, "She's probably a ****."  When they spoke to her, their suspicions were confirmed, and they probably didn't go any farther than that.

For some reason I can see Ash and Jack getting along like Aveline and Isabela in DA2:

Ash: So you've done time.

Jack: That's an understatement, you've got a problem with that.

Ash: Considering that the worst offense on your record was vandalism I don't think there's any need to worry. (Jack starts lauging) What?

Jack: (stops laughing) "Vandalism" is what the Hanar call it when you crash a space station into one of their favorite moons. Bet you Alliance spooks never pulled something like that off.

Ash: Well there was that one time where I went in to this fotified base with a Salarian STG team. We managed to turn a ship's drive core into an eighty kiloton bomb and nuked the place off of the face of the planet. Bet it made a bigger crater than that station.

Jack: Well then you find a drive core and I'll find another station.

Sadly, this is extremely true.  For both guys and girls, honestly, but obviously more for girls because people seem to expect traditional gender roles to be relevant for some reason.  One of my best friends is one of the sweetest girls you could ever meet, but because she has a mohawk and tattoos, some people tend to automatically pre-judge her and think she's going to act a certain way.  Than they are proven wrong and it's kinda funny.  :P

Quick one: the boob straps, the black 'latex' top, or both?

No doubt. You think players actually ignore Kelly's incessant "Jack would like to speak with you" notifications? I find that hard to believe with so many completionists, but players walking through Teltin and still not sympathizing is even more difficult to believe.

What's funny about the prejudice people you described, is that they are assuming that Bioware created a character simply to be a nuisance and/or the she-devil for all the bad boys. An immoral character plot with no depth, social message or lesson learned. Who wouldn't want to kill such a pointless character? It should be our duty to get her killed so Bioware learns to cut her out of ME3 like she should have been cut out of ME2.

People aren't giving Bioware enough credit. Anyway, mini-rant over.

Daaaamn, thanks a lot. I was meaning to ask you for your avatar screenie, but it slipped my mind.  That is a ****ing good shot. I still can't get over Shepard's "damn girl you crazy!" expression at that part, really puts the cherry on top of one of my favorite scenes.

I like the boob straps cuz they show the most tattoos, but then Jack's VA said she didn't like it, and also Jack said the tats are nobody's business, so w/e, now I do her LM then walk down and ask what she thinks about wearing a leather top. Then I protect my face and groin area.

We've been talking about possible armor for Jack in ME3, but Kyrene got me thinking about Jack's casual outfit.  I recall seeing the AA pack for ME3 recently, and how Ashley's "armor" is more like Jacob's latex only with a skirt and heeled boots. If that's the best they can do, I don't expect much for Jack, but I digress, all we know is Jack "is tired of walking around completely naked". Which doesn't say much. What else we know is that those who are redesigning Jack are the same one(s) who did her original design (and everyone elses), so I'm a bit conflicted here with presumptions due to Ashley's redesign (she's "different" now is a pretty horrible excuse). It won't be as simple as growing her hair out and throwing on a wife-beater, so what other "rugged" casual looks can she go for? If she's wearing pleather I am going to rage before I accept it implicitly :D

Being a biker, nothing says protection (and attitude to me) like something in padded leather and/or denim. Tat-magpie that Jack is, I can see that extending to adding bits and pieces of armor and belts (and a stolen-from-Legion N7 badge if she your girl) to the outside of the basic ensemble.

As for casual wear, I'd be fine with something a little more demure than her ME2 loyalty outfit. It would show, visually, a growing up/softening of her character.

However, her hair (or rather lack of) should not be touched at all.

@ Kyrene
I'm not too worried about what they do with Jack's clothing. I love seeing her tatts, so I like the boob straps. But I love her biker outfit and loyalty outfit as well. As long as we are still able to see her tatts in some way I'll be happy. I'd love for the option to use ME2 outfits in ME3 in addition to the new stuff they come up with. And since Courtney Taylor didn't rally like the straps, maybe something like what was used in Jack's FFTL clip (or as seen in some of axl's art) would be a good option (and more practical). And I definitely agree with not touching her hair (but we know they plan on it, so hopefully we can still have the option to shave her head; though I think I will like her new style as well if it is some form of mohawk, worn up or down).

Thanks guys, I like the glow in her eyes. :D

For appearance I'd like her to show off her sleeves at least, but cover the rest of her upper body. Maybe get some light armor on there like Liara.

I'd love to be able to romance Jack again. I love her character and she is my second favorite romance, after Tali's romance.

So there's already tons of Tweets asking for a look at Jack's new design, in response to Casey Hudson's inquiry about what kind of ME3 screenshots fans want to see next. Fingers crossed!

I'd be satisfied with a look that has less boob-strap and more actual clothes that manage to retain her distinctly punk-rock style.

I have to admit, I could get behind (2). The more "paragon" Jack, but with a nod (wink and shave) to her "renegade" roots. As long as I can still see (or know about) that 'Alice band' tat, I'm good (like a loyal Jacob, bro-hug 'n all)...
