I was just listening to reignite, and ot actually occured to me.

With the 'Destroy' ending and max EMS, Jack and Shepard is one of the few romances 'likely' to continue. Despite being pretty much done with Bioware, I still love Jack and the romance, though the playthrough that ruined Bioware for me was a Liara one.

Liara and the other 'main' LIs got put on a bus. Or a Normandy if you prefer. Only those people stll on Earth are really likely to be seeing eachother again in the next decade. The only ones I recall is Jack and... well Jack and none LIs.

I can just imagine Shepard laying there amongst the rubble, horrifcally wounded as he was, when a searching and wide eyed Jack finds him. I can imagine a very rare scream of grief and rage from her as she reached down to hold his body, while her team looks on stunned and at a loss for words. She thinks she has losy yet something else. Then, Jack would gasp, as she realised he is breathing. Despite the hilarious size difference a biotic-glowy tiny woman would lift the tall marine effortlessly and carry him hurriedly to the nearest surviving camp.

I can then see her being both a mix of clingy, grumpy, and irritated while he recovered. Especially if all his implants going pop has bad effects on him, leavng him in some way disabled. I can imagine her bopping him if he started with the self pity/loathing. Call me crazy, but I would like to imagine Jack being the strong one for a while.

And of course neehs.deviantart.com/art/London-ruins-Jack-version-299511950 which fits the scene perfectly.

The possiblity of Jack and Shep being potentially still together post-ending has likely being discussed, but going back ten pages I found no trace. Haha. Got to give Malukah credit, without Reignite I wouldn't have been pondering Mass Effect to consider this. Ugh, the mixed combination of love and hate and dispair I feel towards Bioware and Mass Effect is the strangest sensation...

considering the nightmares, the fall of Thessia, Mordin's death, Thanes death, Anderson's deaths, and anyone else you either couldnt save or killed yourself, the ramifications you sacrifice EDI and the Geth to stop the Reapers and the Normandy's lost somewhere in the galaxy. Shepards should be so emotionally, mentally and physically burned out its not even gonna be funny. Jacks gonna have her hands full just getting him to open up.

It's like ME2 Jack/Shep relationship with reversed roles. It's nice somehow on a theoretical level, 'cause Jack is gonna face what she was before meeting Shepard in Shepard himself, but I don't like this dark and gritty situation after the ending of a three years journey.

I want Shepard to live without having to kill an entire population he helped survive (if he already condemned them on Rannoch, he would still have to kill a friend and one of his best friend's lover) because that situation ruins the ramifications of his survival. I don't want a Shepard dealing with a PSTD for the rest of his life because if "Shepard breathing" is intended to be a happy ending, it must be a happy ending.

I'm absolutely OK with Shepard and Jack dealing together with all the losses caused by the Reapers' War (I guess Jack could have lost some students as well during the battle for Earth) but please let me live without killing an entire population because I don't want the shadow of being a mass murder to follow the Hero of the Galaxy to his grave.

EDIT. Almost forgot: it should be noted that Shepard already killed 300.000 Batarians and dealt with it pretty wel, but probably the death of an entire race will scar him far deeper than that.

So, yeah. Who's here hoping they'll release a "hero" MP dlc and you'll be able to play as Jack or Wrex or whomever you please in MP.

Her skill list on the Xbox would be - LB = Win Y = Win RB = Win.

Hehehehe, so true.

And when she revives someone she says "get your balls out of your purse!"

This is gonna sound like a lot of empty, optimistic speculation, I know, but I'd honestly be a bit surprised if there wasn't some form of reunion between Shepard and the Normandy crew in the Extended Cut. The fact that they're recording new dialogue with the ME3 squadmates could certainly point to it happening, I think. I'm not sure *how* that reunion would take place, exactly, since there are no mass relays after the ending, but then, we don't really know where Joker and the others crash-landed. Could be that some traditional FTL travel could reach them, and the solar system is certainly not lacking for starships by the time the ending takes place.

But in any event, that is indeed one of the silver linings of sticking with Jack (or Miranda, who is also back on Earth) as love interest that I picked up on after I saw the ending. A reunion does not seem at all unfeasible or difficult to explain. Well...assuming that Shepard is in full possession of his physical and mental faculties after the ending (heaven knows if/how the Crucible might have affected the cybernetic implants in his body, and how that might have affected his person in turn). If he remains on the Citadel after destroying the Reapers, and the Citadel is in orbit around Earth, it'd just be a short trip on a spaceship for someone, anyone, to pick him up (and really, you have to imagine that after seeing the Reapers fall, quite a lot of people on or around Earth, Hackett included, would make finding Shepard a priority).

You're not considering the fact that the entirety of ME3 is focused only about the crew, with very few attempts at addressing the ME2 squadmates. So it is far more possible that they will explain something more difficult (Liara finding Shepard again after the ending) than something very simple (Jack going to see what happened to Shepard) simply because they seems to not care abotu the ME2 crew.

I really hope they took a look at this forums and saw how many of us still care about ME2, though, so that we can all rejoice when the EC is out and not got scre**d again.

If there is anything extra, I'm just hoping it won't be a bunch of auto-dialogue with Jack.

it would be probably bold of them to jerk us around some more at this point considering by now they should know people like ME2 alot more than 3 and that reason is largely because of the ME2 cast is overall better.

Anyone else have no optimism at all for the EC? It's one of those things where, if I don't hear good things about characters I care about, I won't even bother with it. If I despise ME3 because it marginalized my favorite characters and stuck me with a squad I couldn't care less for, why would I feel any different about the EC if it does the same thing?

I don't know, I always have this mindset that anything with Jack is worth getting.  Before I even consider downloading the EC, I wanna see Bioware state that: Yes, ME2 characters will be included, doing voice recording, etc.  If not, then I won't even bother with EC.

im not really optimistic myself im just ready for them to get this show on the road. theyve left us hanging by a thread whether this will conclude anything or make it worse, either they cut us loose and be done with it or the by some miracle manage to reel us back in for the long haul

So?  The artist said it was for two friends.  Even then, it doesn't take away from the way Jack expresses herself in that art. It's nice, calm almost.

Echoing what a lot of people here have said... I think it's pretty sad how they created such a beautiful story and character in Jack, turned it into arguably the most rewarding romance in the series in ME2, and followed such a graceful creation with only 5 minutes of face-time and no heartfelt ending to do it all justice.

It honestly makes me a little sad. I realize that most of the people who played this game missed out on Jack, and I feel sorry for them. But it just seems so implausible to me that the writers didn't realize what they had created.
I feel like the ignorance of so many fans created a wave of powerful public opinion that misdirected the writers of the series to forget about those of us who had enough patience and heart to see Jack's romance through to the beautiful thing that it was.

I feel left out, to an extent. Like the writers thought the bond that Jackolytes created in the game wasn't worth following up.

The only redeeming quality in all of this is that at the end of it all, I know this: my Shepard lived, my Jack lived, and they would be reunited in the future.

And it wouldn't hurt to see it in the EC, either - I don't need much. Have Shepard wake up in a hospital to the sound of an EKG and see Jack. "Shepard." Fade to black.

It would be enough for me.

I hold out absolutely no hope for the EC. but then again, i found much of the main article unsatisfying, so I would have always been a hard sell. Even more Jack material would have little draw for me at this point.

as for that pic, I love it! I can never get the fascination with pairing those two together (mind you, i find the Jack/Miri ones even wierder), but I can like that for just showing two characters I like. I wish I could find a fanartist like that! Got some awesome scenes (about half of them Jack) that I really want to get into visual form!

Im watching it on Youtube.  I expect to be dissappointed so I shall return my game and then go hug Jack in ME2

I wish I could return my game.  Origin doesn't offer refunds on digital purchases, and I wasn't going to pirate the game.  Since the retailer will probably turn your copy of the game in to a used game, you can say that you deprived Bioware of one purchase, at the least  ^_^
