Spontaneous quoted Jack scene!
Jack was perched on the edge of what she considered a bed, though it was little more than a flat surface with a thin sheet spread over it. Happy only to be away from the main population centres of the ship, Jack was satisfied with what she had been able to scrounge together for herself down here, turning down Shepard’s offers to have more comfortable surroundings provided for her. As the Commander stepped out of the stairwell and into the better-lit area of the sub-deck Jack looked up at him for a second before looking away with a feigned sense of indifference.
"Hey." She said coolly. "Good job sorting out those two ******. They were doing my head in."
"Yeah, well, I didn’t exactly do it by myself did I?" Shepard said gently. "I heard what you said to Ken."
"I know. You think anything happens on this deck without me finding out about it?" Jack smirked as Shepard realised the truth of that statement. "You get a good look from that vantage point back there? I could feel you staring."
"Thanks for your help." Shepard said, not rising to the bait of Jack’s last barbed sentence.
"It wasn’t much, but I’ll take any praise that gets flung my way. Now, any other reason why you’re down here bothering me, or do I have to toss your sorry ass back up those steps?"
"Come on, Jack. Is it always going to be like this? Can’t we even talk?"
"Ain’t got nothin’ to talk about."
"Jack, please." Shepard’s voice was loaded with sincerity.
"What!" She snapped.
"We both came so far. Are you really gonna let Cerberus undo all that?"
Jack stood up, stalking away from the Commander towards the back wall of the sub-deck. At first Shepard thought she was going to withdraw into the darkest corner of the deck, shutting him out completely, but then she stopped, leaning against a bulkhead with one shoulder and her head tilted to the side, gently touching the metal of the Normandy. She sighed, muttering something under her breath.
"What was that?" Shepard asked, taking a few steps forward. Jack’s head snapped around, her brown eyes glinting with anger.
"I said that it’s not just Cerberus!" Her voice faded and softened. "Its you."
"You need to explain that one to me."
"Like hell I do! But I will anyway." She turned to face him fully, but her eyes still darted everywhere but where his stare scrutinised her. "After Omega Four, I was finally convinced you were right. About plenty of things. About how I kept everyone at arm’s length, about how I didn’t need to be alone anymore, about how I could trust you. I let you in. I gave you a piece of me.
"And when you were gone, when I was alone on that Cerberus operating table, it hurt like ****! Not the needles, not the scalpels, and sure as hell not the tests. It hurt to think about you, and I couldn’t get away from it. The other pains I could lock out, but you? There was no escaping you.
"That’s why I’m not falling into the same trap again. You take people’s feelings hostage. You’re why people get hurt!" She pointed a finger at his chest, prodding his sternum painfully.
Her last words hit Shepard deeply. His expression faltered, and he felt himself take an involuntary step back to avoid her pointing finger.
"Jack, You know I never meant to hurt you."
Jack was silent for a second, and then her gaze twitched up. For a crystalline moment, their stares locked.
Her stubborn expression faltered and she sighed.
"I know you didn’t." She chuckled. "****, you sound like a **** when you get all sappy like that,"
Shepard chuckled, sad expression broken by a smile.
"We can’t go back to what we had, Shepard." Jack said.
"No." He agreed. "But maybe we can start over."
The convict’s face twisted as a medley of emotions traversed it.
"End of the world’s only around the corner and you’re gonna waste your time on me?"
"You know it."
"You’re ****ed in the head, you know that?"
"Once or twice, but only in the line of duty. Except for Samara’s daughter. That was to help out a friend."
"Shut up, you idiot." She very nearly laughed. "So what now?"
"Now? Now, I’m gonna carry on being me, and you carry on being you, aside from the recurrent explosions and near-constant slaughter." This earned him a snorted chuckle.
"Alright, you can hang around for a bit. Take a seat."
Jack stalked back to her bed, and Shepard moved to sit next to her. She hesitated for a moment, hand hovering over his, before with an uncomfortable sigh she shuffled away from him, keeping a couple of feet between her and the Commander. Shepard looked at her, even after all this time barely understanding a single thing about the woman sat next to him. He scanned her tattoos for a few seconds, enjoying the mere experience of being in her presence, soaking in the peace. She caught his gaze and an eyebrow quirked up questioningly.
"Getting a good look in? Did you miss me that bad?"
"Just thinking. You carry your life on the outside, like a map in your inks, but I don’t know what the half of it means."
"Ah, ****. You’ve got more questions, aincha?"
"You don’t have to answer them if you don’t want to."
"Didn’t say that I felt I had to. Go ahead. Maybe you’ll get lucky and ask the right ones."
"No chance you’ll give me a clue what to ask?"
"**** no! Where’s the fun in that?"

Yeah. Forgot that detail. In either case, I won't bother with it, because a polished turd is still a turd.
And I'm hearing rumors that the basic gist of the EC is that it does establish that it was all "just a dream", which would make Bioware liars, or, at the least, dishonest, because they hid behind the shield of "artistic integrity" when they said that they wouldn't be changing the endings. If the rumor proves to be true, of course.
Back to Jack, I was talking with an artist about commissioning some happy fanart of Jack & Shepard, but our talks fell through. Now, I'm talking with someone else about funny fanart, instead, based on an idea mentioned recently in this thread.

Any Dr. Doctor's sketch would be awesome as a funny fanart, if handled well. Maybe someone with a comic-book style, that would be perfect.
I tried myself to render the Disciple sketch from some pages ago, but while the pencils turned out pretty good after a couple of tentatives I made a disaster while inking and didn't have the willpower to start from scratch once again.

Well, she got a particular style that dangles between parody and OC, but she sure did some of the funniest Jack scenes I ever seen. I'm a huge fan of Mess Perfect 2!

Oh, who am I fooling? I'm excited as hell for just that simple tweet, let's HOPE!

- We know that Kaiden, EDI, and Hackett have been called back to the studio for work on the EC DLC.
Let's look at that for a second:
EDI and Hackett don't really surprise me. EDI would have a big part to play in the synthesis ending, and Hacket could be used in just about any of them. Kaiden, however, is the one that strikes me as the most interesting.
For many of us Kaiden may not have even survived ME1, much less ME3. Yet we KNOW he's going to have an acting part in the Extended Cut. Why? There are, realistically, only two possibilities:
1) They have made room in the Extended Cut for the Ashley/Kaiden placeholder as merely an important character in the overall, nonpersonal narrative. He or she is a Spectre, and thus could have an important role to play in the future of mankind in its relationship with the other races.
PROBLEM: It's a bit of a stretch (not that the writers haven't already shattered the hell out of that barrier) As I mentioned a second ago, that character may not even be alive, which reduces the chance that they would feel he/she plays an important and necessary role in the game's potential future.
2) Kaiden (and Ashley by necessity) has been included in the Extended Cut because he was romanced by the player in the campaign. This is the the only universal reason that would be served in giving a potentially-dead character actual lines in the EC/Epilogue. Technically. they could have just gone all-out and are including voice work from all characters and so there's no specific reason (love interest) that we should really expect them to have for Kaiden's inclusion. But given how they didn't exactly go all-out in the first round of Mass Effect 3 endings... I feel disinclined to give them so much credit.
The bottom line is that there has to be AT LEAST one more voice actor we haven't been told about (Ashley) and based on the most likely reason for Kaiden's inclusion, we should feel safe in assuming Jack will at least show up. Who knows what our favorite biotic badass will have to say, but we can at least treat this prospect as much more than a shallow dream until we find out.
You take all of that and add the tight-lipped secrecy from Courtenay & Friends, and you have a pretty good case.
I'm not just trying to drum up excitement and build up everyone's hopes here. I really think we can expect this - not just hope for it.

Problem is, we already know there's gonna be something involving the ME3 squaddies. And Kaidan could be killed during the Citadel coup, but he's still one of the important ME3 squadmates and a ME3 LIs.
What I fear is not that they're not gonna address LIs in anyway during the EC (even if there's even this terrible possibility) but that they're gonna address only the ME3 LIs, those who are part of the Normandy Crew only during the third chapter.
If they're gonna address all LIs offcourse we'll have some Jack, and that's what we all hoping for.

I can't see any hypothetical reasoning to justify only the ME3 *shipmate* LIs without making the unreasonably pessimistic assumption that the developers are just out to intentionally screw up our game experience.
I think it's far more reasonable to presume that if they address LIs, it would be all LIs.
And don't overlook the point I was making. I wasn't just pointing to evidence that they're going to have something involving the ME3 squaddies. What I'm pointing to is an actual voice-acted part in the new EC for LIs. Given that we have absolutely no reason to believe they would limit this sort of thing to active squadmates on your ship's crew, if this is a part for the romanced character, what reason would there even be for limiting such a role to the people just on your ship? Spite? Laziness?
And even still, to take such a stretch of logic you would have to ignore the evidence that Courtenay Taylor is having a hard time remaining tight-lipped about all of this. I can't see why she would have such a hard time remaining quiet if there's nothing to talk about.
I'm not even being overly optimistic here - it just makes the most sense, given the evidence.

Well I certainly hope you're right, don't take my words as a confutation: I absolutely believe and hope in what you're saying, and if I point out a problem with your reasoning it's just be assured as much as I can about the presence of Jack in the EC. (The lack of Jack in the ending was practically the only thing that buggered me from the very first playthough so that's all I'm hoping for with the EC)
The reason behind the lack of ME2 characters in the EC could be the same reason that put them aside for ME3 in the first place: limited budget.... the EC wasn't planned, and I don't know how many resources they have at disposal to realize a free DLC that will not assure any kind of income (apart from regain the fans' loyalty, offcourse, I know that's a lot but not in the immediate future). So I hope they've read the forums, got the feedback and understood that we want some more ME2 LIs, but there's always the possibility that they're simply gonna cut aside lot of content because of budget restriction.
Also, Courtenay Taylor could be working for some big project like a new Game that has to be presented at the San Diego Comic-Con and cannot speak about it, but that's kind of a stretch and this time I'm excited because it could really mean they're working on the EC with ME2 chars.
In the end, all I want to say is that I do want to believe that these evidence prove the presence of Jack in the EC, but at the same time I don't want to get my hope too high and then have my expectations to be shattered (again).

With four months of development, they can add "closure, clarification and JACK" to the ending without putting a simple slideshow with some narration under it. It worked for Dragon Age because the main character was not that "characterized", and still, something like that feel a little bit impersonal for a BioWare game.
That there are going to be cinematics and cutscenes it's a fair assumption at this point, I just hope, as I already stated in this thread, that they're gonna restore ME's human factor.
Yes, that absolutely include more Jack as a LI. Absolutely.

Then, by whiping out every Synthetic being in the Galaxy, Shepard almost doubled Jack's chance of survival from that point of view.
It IS somewhat cynic and cruel, but it could be a starting point for a ending-survivor Shepard to cope with the guilt together with Jack. It could even become some kind of joke between them to help Shepard live with the fact that he killed an entire race.

What race? The Reapers, or the geth? 'Cuz the geth can be dead before the ending. And if Shepard thinks synthetics aren't lives, just toasters, then it's no big deal (even if Bioware did do their darndest to pound it in to the player's skull that the geth are sympathetic innocents). And I guess Jack wouldn't care, either way, as long as Shepard didn't do it out of viciousness.
