i hesitate to give her any cerberus phoenix powers because thers no precedent for her to use her biotics like a whip but picturing Jack whipping some Cerberus husk mooks is almost too good an idea to pass up

I don't see why she couldn't use such those powers.  If they'll pummel the lore to make "cool" stuff for multiplayer, you can do whatever you want with the lore as well.  There's no reason Jack can't do anything those biotics can do.  It just takes practice.

@Vertigo_1,
I pretty much knew Ms. Taylor wouldn't be voicing anything for Jack in the EC.  Unlike everyone else, I don't think Bioware would pour resources in to character DLC, especially if it's for a character they've shown us to be minor in their eyes.  Why, yes, I am bitter.

Anyway, they're too busy putting Reaper backstory in to paid DLC, when such a thing should be in the base game.

well if thats the case we might as we'll take a sledgehammer...no wait a tactical nuke...no even better a space station right into the face of the lore for the love of Jack. giver her a biotic bubble that stops atlas missles and ravagers cannons, and for crying out loud lets see Jack punch out a biotic charging banshee. its only fair considering shes the most powerful human biotic alive aside from adeptShepard

and since were taking the lore down a peg or two i want one of those batarian enforcer gauntlets for my Shepard, i can really splits some wigs with one of those or i can just take the geths melee and give someone a fist full of overload

@Doctor

who knew Jack was the Indian Jones of the ME universe. now im picturing her and Shepard running away from a mod of people after jack "borrows" a valuable relic for her "collection"

I have no problems with Jack being a more powerful biotic than adept Shepard But I know some people get off on the protagonist being more powerful than everyone else.

Quoting myself, in case anyone is interested in some creative writing:

I'm trying to think up something.  It has to be short, because those "Goodbyes" are short.  And it has to be distinctly Jack.

well my Shepards an infiltrator so i already knew going in that Jack was more powerful then me but i have my moments an awesome that Jack cant replicate like a triple headshot on some geth troopers with the widow

adeptShepard would have to be like mageHawke and start ripping folks and things in half to top anything Jack can do lol

Edit: hmm i dont kno if i can come up with dialogue that sounds like Jack, but i'll try n think of something

I believe she says it if you're not in a romance with Jack, but I can't confirm that.

Also, it only happens if you kept the Collector base and you chose the Paragon line after Jack confronts you about it. There is youtube clip of it somewhere in here, and one with Edi as well which was great.

Here's Edi. Still looking for Liara.
And Liara.

Liara's quite a b*** in that scene. She's all "I'm the Shadow Broker, I know everything, mwaha!!"

...when actually she's the worst Shadow Broker ever since half the Galaxy know who she is.

Heh.  I find it hard to blame her, though.  People were complaining about Bioware shoving Liara down the player's throat at every opportunity, so they took a cue from that and made her incompetent, instead.  Bwuh?

They know who she is, sure. But they know Dr. Liara T'Soni. They don't know Shadow Broker T'Soni.

Besides, I'm pretty sure only a select few people know about that, like Hackett, Wrex, Pretty much anyone who's a close friend of hers.

Well, not counting The Illusive Man. And Cerberus.

...Well, sh*t.

I don't know, I think she's doing a fine job:

Sur'Kesh

Jack: Snakes. Why'd it have to be snakes?

Rodriguez: I thought that you wen't afraid of anything m'am?

Jack: If you're not afraid of anything then you're either really stupid or dead. Remember when I mentioned Pragia?

Rodriguez:  That Cerberus place you and Shepard blew up?

Jack: Yeah. When I broke out of there the shuttlepad was a kilometer away. The squints did something to the planet years ago that made the plants grow back quicker than Cerberus could clear it, so it was me running throught the jungle hunting for a shuttle.  What the travel guides don't tell you is that the animals are just as ****ed up as the plants. This snake-thing as long as my leg grabed ahold of me and tried to drag me deeper into the jungle.

Rodriguez; What did you do?

Jack: Remember that explosion trick I taught you guys?

Rodriguez: Yeah, but you said...

Jack: ..never to do it up close. The snake-thing got blown to hell but the blast threw me a few hundred feet and I messed up my arm. Ever since then I've hated snakes, and hunting Reaper patrols through the jungles with the 103rd  means there's going to be a lot of them.

Rodriguez: So what do you do?

Jack: Think of rainbows and unicorns.

Rodriguez: I'm serious m'am.

Jack: I just focus on what I'm doing.  Easier to  ignore the little things when you're on the lookout for husks roaming through the brush.  'Sides, unless the Reapers are throwing Thresher Maws against us I don't think we're going to have problems in the snake department.

I think that even if people ("people" in general, not just VIPs like Hackett or the Illusive Man) were aware of Liara's identity as the Shadow Broker, they probably don't care much (meaning Liara would have little reason to care either). I mean, interstellar war with ancient primordial sentient machines, end of everything in the galaxy as we know it...bigger concerns. You know what I mean.

The concealment of her agents' identities and functions is probably more important. Like Wrex says of the Crucible, "making a bigger secret of what it does rather than the fact that it exists".

Actually Wrex says that the big secret that the Alliance is keeping is "where it is", not what it does. He knows that no one knows what the Crucible will actually do.

I don't want to discuss the utility of Liara as a character here, but if Traynor wasn't as clever as she is (and EDI as prepared) we would not have saved Jack from Cerberus' dirty hands... so much for having the supposedly "biggest information broker of the Galaxy" on board.

Just sayin'!

You're taking about the scene just before Shepard gets hit by Harbinger's beam, right?

Because if you are, I would believe it'd go something like this ::Turns on music for dramatic effect.::

"Jack? Jack, you there?"

"......."

"Jack, can you read me?"

"Little busy here, Shepard."

"Yeah...Yeah. I know."

"Listen. We've just been told that Harbinger's moving to our position. We're trying to the hit the beam, make up for lost time."

"****. You always get the good ones."

"Listen. If I don't make it ba--"

"Then that's too bad. Always knew you wanted to screw the Reapers."

"Jack, please."

"......"

"I love you. Whatever happens, I'll always love you."

"I know, Shepard. I know. Now go kill those sons of ****es."

"...Yes Ma'am."

"Alright people. This is it."

Traynor is the best.

"So guys, does anyone know where Cerberus is hiding so we can finish this game. Anyone?"

"Yeah Traynor! Without you I'd still be jerking off to Joker's porn collection, while the Reapers kill everyone. Good Job!"

"Liara, get off my ship. You are not needed."

Grr I basically always take Liara to Grissom to get her to tell Jack her real name, but the game never ever "chooses" her to speak. I'm super unlucky or something. I've heard the sex-bot-not-sex-toy line several times, though. At least that line is funny.

My favorite is the romanced-Garrus line, but I don't have any FemSheps who are into Garrus :P

Sadly, that's probably all we could get from Jack. I liked the "screw the reapers" line, it fits.

I always found that scene where Traynor pipes up and gives the location to Sanctuary a bit...well, awkward. The whole exchange with Shepard ("Let's prioritize and fight Cerberus now. So, uh, anybody in this room know where they are?" "Um, over there" "BRILLIANT LET'S GO")...it's a bit silly, the way it flows. That could've used a bit more development, I feel.

I like this bit a lot. I could definitely see it playing out that way. And I was wondering earlier about how it would play out if Jack had been in your squad at that point and she'd been the one who had to be dragged into the Normandy by the other squadmate. I'm not sure how I see it going down, but I'm certain it would at least involve a lot of cursing.

Yup, that's what I meant.  And, I like this.  I've said it before, and I still mean it - I don't think Jack would ever say "love" to Shepard.  However, if Shepard says it to her, and he gets a smile, or, at the least, an acknowledgement, I think that means that Jack's love is there, too.  That's about as much as you'll get from her, but it means something.  It means a lot.

I *think* the game prioritizes characters who know Jack (i.e., Garrus, EDI and Liara) when queuing up dialogue in that scene. Garrus often seems to take precedence when it comes to commenting on missions, so leaving him behind and instead bringing along, say, Javik,  could improve your chances of getting Liara's comment.

(I actually learned of Javik's existence from reading the dialogue in that scene in the leaked script. The script contains the game's dialogue, but it doesn't make it explicitly clear who is speaking at a given time. I remember reading the "What the hell are you?" "50,000 years older than you" exchange between Jack and Javik, stopping for a moment to ponder what kind of sentient being could be 50,000 years old by the time ME3 takes place, and then surmising that - holy crap - there's gonna be a Prothean in this game)

The unintentional comedy scale is off the charts for that scene. I think if Shepard had actually asked Traynor if she'd found anything would have fit a lot better, instead of Edi bringing it up. Traynor had already proven herself to be very resourceful earlier.

it wouldve been nice to be able to call up Jack with the omnitool and it show a live feed with a shot of her face like when Wrex calls you on Sur'Kesh and EdI while priming the thanix missiles.

@Doctor

Ha now i wanna take her to Tuchanka with me to cure the genophage and see her get nervous when Kalros shows up. Then get pissed when we have to use the maw hammers to summon her with that destroyer breathing down our neck. good times, good times

Yeah. I also think it might have worked better if they'd had, say, EDI or Traynor come to Shepard with the information later, saying that they spent some time doing work tracing Kai Leng and found what looks like a useful lead or something. The whole "we've just suffered the most soul-crushing defeat in the war but LUCKILY THE COMMS SPECIALIST HAS ALL THE ANSWERS RIGHT IN HER BACK POCKET" thing is a bit...well, like I said, awkward.

Huh. Guess I was wrong. Maybe if you romanced Liara, then? Though I don't know how/why that would affect things.

(Speaking of romancing Liara, it would've been fun to get some awkwardness during that scene if you romanced Liara, cheated on her with Jack, then brought Liara along for the mission. Maybe have Liara clear her throat in the background while Jack and Shepard make out or something)
