Jack joining the Alliance and being fast-tracked through rank is a little much for me to accept. The time between ME2 and ME3 must have been very revelatory and productive for her. I'm happy to see her happy, but I don't readily accept she'd throw herself in to such a formal situation so quickly. Or, maybe this is what she wanted all along, but she was so caught up in her fatalistic world-view that she couldn't see it.

Whatever the case is, Jack would look hot in Alliance navy uniform. Especially if she can keep the hair.

As I believe Jack herself suggests, You just want to pull her out of one don't you? lol :P

Never!  Even if ME is over, Jack is still in our hearts.

Never. Jack is still the most awesome character I've encountered in a VG.

I also still hold the belief that Shaved Jack is the most attractive one. If we do get Jack as a DLC squaddie, she MUST have an alternate appearance without the ponytail. I have nothing against the ponytail, but I don't like the fact that she has a much larger following who spout the reasoning 'now that she's got hair', as if that were a requirement for her attractiveness. This kind of reaction is exactly why I doubt she'd have actually bothered to grow her hair out at all. She's not the type to seek acceptance.

When you are the most powerful human biotic in the Galaxy and you show up in a recruiting office, I think the Alliance is more than OK with sky-rocketin' you through ranks.

Very nice! That screenshot and that quote are just beggin' for some photoshop... and then you'll have one hell of a motivational picture.

Oh yes I agree, I thought I was the only one who noticed her fanbase become significantly larger once she gotten the new look with the hair. Bald Jack is the best Jack...

I noticed an increase in the number of people saying they like Jack, and/or that they find Jack, after seeing her in ME3. I certainly hope it's not because she's more "tame" compared to her ME2 self. And what a difference a little hair can make for some people, I guess. I prefer the shaved head, but longer hair is not so far away from that preference.

Any Jack is good and it's true that people like her more because she's more calm, but that calmness was always there, as shown in ME2. It's not like I don't consider them Jackolytes, or not true fans because that's unfair to say, but she hasn't changed that much in the past few months.

I was referring more to the romance, and specifically to people who go back to ME2 to romance her, knowing how she is in ME3.  The calmness was there, and it's developed in ME3, but it should not be confused with domestication.  ME2 Jack is still very much around, and no one's getting rid of her.

I have always found Jack to be the most attractive character physically in the ME series in both her Shaved head and ponytail styles. I love both of her looks but don't have a prefference of either of them because I know that either is Jack and that's enough for me. The thing that drew me to Jack in the first place was her character, willpower and personality so the looks were just a bonus really. In ME2 when you enter into a relationship with her and you get to the scene in Shepards quarters she says "Mabye you're right, that I need..." and I think that after this she realises that she needs to move on from some of the crap in her past that has been haunting her which is what lead her to change her looks rather than Jack "trying to fit in" as such. Also I think a lot of Jackolytes from ME2 noticed the increase of fans who only became interested in Jack because she now has hair and if they need that because they can't appreciate Jacks character then it's their loss.

In any case, Jack's awsome and is by far my favorite character in just about any VG I've played and I've been playing VG's a long time.

Shepard: What happened to "kept the haircut"?

Jack: Keeping it that short was a pain in the ass. 'Sides back before I shaved it all off I changed my hair every other week, so don't get used to the ponytail.

Shepard: What were you thinking of?

Jack: Maybe a mohawk, or dreads need to keep it kinda short so the brass don't flip out. And just a heads up, you untie, undo, or whatever else you do you get to put it back the way it was.

Shepard: Maybe I like doing that sort of thing.

I've seen this one before, I'm sure it was an airbrushing though I could be wrong since I know next to nothing about digital art. still its one of the most touching moments in any of the ME games.

All good points, but ultimately this is inference on our parts. I honestly don't think we can credit the ME3 team with having this intention behind the changes. Bioware wanted to make her more appealing. We can infer all of this emotional growth and so on, but the same team that gave Ashley her makeover can't be credited with changing one of the least popular characters of the last game (at least, the one with the loudest detractors except for Jacob) purely for her own advancement. THAT'S where I have a problem with the changes. Whether they're good or not is up to personal opinion, but I view the motivation behind them as a disservice to the character.

I don't know. Maybe if I'd seen at least a modicum of change in the rest of the ME2 squad that wouldn't broadcast the signal that Jack was the only one who had changed and who needed that kind of change, I wouldn't take it so badly. As is, I see this as saying Jack was the only one out of twelve characters who needed 'fixing' after the original design team missed the mark. I still feel this was Bioware caving to the negative response she got. YMMV, though.

By the way, during that scene, Does it default to your LI for that bit or do I just have really incredible odds?

I have noticed that Jack was the only ME2 squaddie that had such changes but I try to think that it was just the character being properly developed even though I think your suspicions are the more likely truth.

It depends on how you choose your squad I believe, though I'm not entirely sure.

I dunno how it chooses, but it doesn't default to your LI. I just replayed that Shepard last night (part of the reason I posted that screenie), but it was Miranda falling over the side, not Jack.

I want to think it is too, but everytime I've done that level and I bring my LI, They're always the one to be caught by Shepard.
