My Ashley Shep carried a torch for her the whole series long, without so much as a glance towards the ME2 ladies (except for Kelly, because I'm too forgetful to feed my own fish), and my Jack Shep kept to himself in ME1.

Nope. It just seemed strange to end a conversation about "Jack and Miranda would get along in ME3" and to see another one about "Jack and Ashley would get along in ME3" starts.
It seemed like everyone just wanted to find a friend for Jack.

the Captain Picard in my mind, who is in charge of head canon, has said "Make it so."

Isn't Shepard the first Cerberus figure she meets? Jacob could be as well. She threatens to kill neither of them. Hell, Jacob and Jack even have friendly squaddie banter.
Like I said, Miranda is the first prominent Cerberus figure Jack meets on the Normandy. In addition, Neither Jacob nor shepard says something that provokes her. Jacob's a grunt, and Shepard can openly deny involvement with Cerberus. Jack's a smart girl, and it doesn't take long to see that Miranda is the one who has the stick up her butt about Cerberus procedure and all that ('On this ship, we follow orders'). For someone like Jack who is looking for a way to be antagonistic, Miranda is transmitting all the right signals to be a perfect target.
Anyway, you seem pretty set on this dynamic, and I'm pretty set on not seeing it, so lets leave it at that. Moving on...
Been working on some Jack scenes for Chapter 46 of Into The Unknown. You may have read them already, as I've been publishing as I go along. For those who have, do you think Jack has acted in-character for that situation? I imagine meeting Varkun after all of these years would be a bit of a jarring experience for her, but I didn't want to take it in a way that made her too dependent on her experiences with him. Thoughts?

Zaeed is more the old badass uncle of the entire ME2 Crew!
...my mental Picard agrees with KingNoting125's Picard. Make it so.
(And that is one cool drawing bytheway).

Any reason Jack wasn't brought up on charges of association with Cerberus, when the SR-2 was impounded? Did she say anything about how she avoided that?
Specifically, no I don't think she brought up any reason that charges of association with Cerberus were dropped. Though she did state the Alliance knew she worked with Shepard so they offered her the position at Grissom Academy. So maybe they could've made her a deal. But she never goes into detail about it.

Maybe they proposed her an amnesty for working with them. Again, being the most powerful human biotic in the Galaxy gives you one hell of an advantage in bargaining with the army.

Yeah. and let's not forget she did scour through all those Cerberus files. Wouldn't be too surprised if she had some intel to pass on to the Alliance from that, since I'm sure she found more stuff than just Pragia.

Neither was Chakwas. She only says something to the tune of not getting charged because she wasn’t really in the Alliance or otherwise AWOL at that time so she was just a civilian… It’s a bit weird.

Is having friends in high places really enough to keep her from prosecution? Is it really enough to get her a teaching position at Grissom?
It was enough in the 20th century, I can't imagine it being much different in the 22nd century.

As a result of the popularity of the Romance DLC thread and polls on BSN and HTL, folks over at HTL have combined all the suggestions and made a new, more in depth survey.
It will only take 5 minutes of your time, unless you like to make comments, and we hope to get even more responses than on the BSN polls.
Results will be analyzed, summarized into a report, and sent to Bioware.
If you want to be heard on this issue, this is the best way to do it!
Please take the survey and spread the word!!

Figured I'd see what you thought of my characterisation of Jack in this little one-shot I wrote, as you guys would know best.

I took the survey. I'm interested in what will be done with this survey (if Bioware will care), especially since the thread asking for Jack and Miranda DLC got stickied.

That's pretty good. Her sense of humor is intact. At certain spots, Jack sounded a little too formal. I'm so used to writing Jack-sounding dialogue, that if I can read it in her voice, it's good; if not, well, it just becomes words.

And I dig it. Love that other people agree that those 2 are another hateful odd couple pairing =)

I don't think they're romantically paired in that story, unless that's not what you mean, Shaleist. There's a ton of material to work with, when writing Jack and Miranda working together.
No I mean like 'The Odd Couple'... Felix/Oscar. It's before my time too lol...
